[Q] Which kernal do i need to root my device? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So i want to root my Galaxy S 2, was planning on using a guide i found on CNET.
But am not sure which insecure kernal i should be using to gain root access and which kernal i should be putting back on afterwards to clear the warning triangle?
Currently my phone is as follows:
Model Number: GT-I9100
Android Version: 2.3.4
Baseband Version: I9100XXKI1
Kernal Version: [email protected] #2
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.XWKI4
Am obviously new to this but want to gain root access and eventually install Darky's ROM.

Just flash Siyah v4 via ODIN. This will give you root, cwm/manager, SU and a good custom kernel.

Yeah, It sees it as a trojan horse, because it is a trojan horse. The "abuse" gives it away

[Q] New to root, also wierd kernel

[SOLVED]
Hey, I have read a few articles, but im worried about bricking my phone.

My phone is stock, I only updated the firmware with Samsung Kies
In the back of my phone says:
Model: GT-i9100
SSN: i9100GSMH
On the about phone menu says:
Model number: GT-i9100
Android version: 4.0.4
Baseband version: i9100BULP8
Kernel version:
3.0.15-1056084
[email protected] #3
SMP PREEMPT Thu Sep 13 10:45:25 KST 2012
Build number: IMM76D.BULPG
_________________________________________
I whant to do this properly, but I don't know how...
Questions:
1- Is my phone the International version one?
2- The LPG (in bold) is what matters to the CFRoot, or what does matter?
3- The "CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ-v5.3-CWM5.zip" doesn't fit my phone because of the sgs2 and LPQ?
4- Can you find me a suitable CFRoot?
5- If I put the Siyah insted, what shoul be the version?
6- Do I need to use ODIN with Siyah?
Please answer all of my questions
Sorry if my English isn't the best, im not a native speaker.
I don't know to answer your questions, but if you actually want to upgrade your software you better do it now before you root, because if you upgrade your rooted phone software you will lose the root.
Also the kernel is not weird. That is a stock kernel.

I think my phone may be unrootable, need help.

My phone is
model number:
SGH-i747M
android version:
4.4.2 KitKat
Basband version:
I747MVLUFOB3
Kernel Version:
3.4.0-1784548
i've tried both king root and towel root and they've not worked, due to in-availability with the device.
what do you suggest I do? flash something different? I do not have access to a computer at the moment, so kango and ODIN are out of the question.
