HTC Amaze APN Settings Locked on Wind Mobile and MMS functioning intermittently - HTC Amaze 4G

Hi all,
couldn't find a Wind network specific forum, so I'm posting here...
I've now had two phones on Wind and on both, MMS is not a simple, straightforward functioning option.
Nexus one: gave up in frustration trying to get mms working after tinkering with all suggested settings.
Now I own an HTC amaze...mms works periodically. People sometimes receive my texts (and sometimes only twelve hours later even when sitting right in front of me and on Wind or any other carrier network) and sometimes they don't. Why is it so difficult to get MMS working smoothly on Wind?
I just tried to change the APN settings and...they're locked. Any ideas how to unlock them?
Also, I'd appreciate settings that others have found that works on their Amaze (not sure if settings get different results on different phones...i imagine they wouldn't, but from hearing how some of you have it working perfectly...i wonder)?
Thanks.

just one apn for both mms and internet?
I have had issues with my previous, unlocked T mobile phone on Wind, however, my new Amaze on Wind seems to be fine, as far as I know anyway.
Does locked APN's have anything to do with SIM lock?
Once I can get my SIM unlock code from Wind will my APN"s also come unlocked at the same time?
Thanks very much

Its my understanding that its part of the network setup.. most networks can setup automatically.
Ive got an Optus sim and a Telstra sim i have switched and it works perfectly on both after the network autosetup.
Doesn't seem to be the case with Vodafone. It's quite frustrating!
I am having the same problem. Using another networks SIM in a PAYG version. Would very much like MMS working
hmmm well sorry to hear your experience has been average..
I put my Telstra Sim in.. turn it on .. 3rd message sent was a MMS to test it.. and POP it worked perfectly.
If you have to setup a phones mms settings in a phone in this day and age, then its not a good phone or network..
It should be automatic and part of any network detection setup.
Ive also tried my partners Optus sim and its autoconfig'd perfectly. And whilst not as fast in network speeds did everything.

[Q] T-Mobile Vibrant, Straight Talk, MMS

Does ANYONE have T-Mobile Vibrant with working MMS on Straight Talk? I've tried dozens of APN combinations, and to no avail. My 3g works, but MMS won't send, and won't receive. I've been trying for two weeks now. I take that back, I've been able to receive ONE mms message. One.

Make sure you have data enabled whenever you receive one.
Data has been enabled with every APN. I've also rebooted after I switch APNs, and then verified that they remained after the phone starts back up. Any form of troubleshooting regarding every basic setting has been attempted.

In other words, nothing I've tried has worked. so basically short of another t-mobile vibrant user, using straight talk with working MMS, telling me their settings, I'm basically out of options.

so i have just switched over to straight talk and i also have a samsung vibrant from tmo, on froyo. how did you get your data working? ive tried teakker, etc. and nothing has worked for me. i really dont want to root my phone but im thinking thats another option so that i can change the apn options somehow and use what the other straight talk tmo users are using (which is not what they give you on the activation card)
feel so helpless
I have been thinking of going to straight talk, couple questions
1. Do you have to request a tmo sim card from straight talk?
2. Do you need to be unlocked?
3. Do they charge activation?
I didn't mean to "hijack" ur thread but I figured you guys could answer this. Thanks

I think i just needed to reboot the phone, seems to be working now.
Also if people having issues with signal dropping randomly, try reseating the sim card, my issue with this has also stopped.

AT&T HTC One(m7) APN

Hello,
I recently put the GPe rom in my HTC One, and have had network problems related to my APN.
Could anyone who HAS an AT&T HTC One post their APN settings so I could fix this problem.
Thanks in advance!

I just put GPe on this morning, and I've had some problems too. I went to a place I usually have good coverage, but I had no *data* coverage. My wife had good coverage there, including data.

SIM unlock - NO signal
After putting in these settings I get no response from my TMobile HTC One. The signal bar is blank and it says emergency calls only. I got the sim from an ATT store. Currently running ARHD GE. Thanks a lot!
After updating to 41.0 m mobile data doesn't work. I reset the APN to default at&t but still can't use mobile data. Can someone please help? Thanks in advance.
Delete stock APN on HTC One M7 (AT&T)
Hello everyone.
Introduction. I have unlocked HTC One M7 (AT&T) with stock Jelly Bean 4.3 ROM + AT&T sim card with 3G data service (Not 4G/LTE).
As I have sim card specifically with 3G data it works only with APN settings on phones - wap.cingular. It doesn't work with others APN settings such as "phone" for LTE data service.
HTC One M7 AT&T version has pre-setted APN settings for LTE data service (APN: "phone").
Problem is when I try to enter new APN (wap.cingular) it says "This APN is not allowed on this device".
I rooted this phone and tried to find /system/etc/apns-conf.XML file as for One X but apns-conf.xml file doesn't exist in One M7, I searched entire root content on it. There other .xml files with wifi settings etc. Also tried to find similar files on other folders but with no luck.
Anybody knows what file on M7 contains this settings or how to remove restrictions for setting wap.cingular APN?
Thanks

A T-mobile phone won't work on the ATT network even with the APN settings. The radio in the Tmo phone works on a different frequency.
And which was that for ?.. does this also maybe apply to the m8 and or m9 because the restrictions some are on them as well... GSM models are different though tmobile far as I know can be lifted if u get unlock code for them , I called tmobile and they told me and if I keep there service for at least 6 months they would provide me the unlock keys ?.. what!?. I was like this is ridiculous because I thought htc would provide the keys for this matter?....

[Q] unlocked att htc m8 cannot send/receive mms

I sim unlocked my htc m8 and am now using a tmobile sim card. 4G network, calls, sms everything works just fine. However, i am not able to send/receive mms. I called t-mobile for help, and they told me to change my apn setting, which i did. And that only fixed my problem with 4g data(i initially had problem with both 4g data and mms) No matter what i try for apn setting, MMS won't send.
My current apn setting is: apn:fast.t-mobile.com
mmsc: mms,msg,eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
mms protocal: wap2.0
mcc:310
ncm:260
apn type: default,supl,admin,dun,mms
everything else is not set. I really don't understand why would mms not work if both 4g data and individual sms works.
Anyone have an idea?
Did you figure out how to fix the mms yet?

I have had the same issue. 4gLTE works just fine. I have ATT visual voicemail working. I just cant seem to get over the MMS issue.
I switched the hangouts today and that works just fine for sending and recieving MMS. What's weird is it also records what is being sent and recived into my HTC Messages app as well. However, when I disable hangouts and try to send MMS direct from HTC messages, no luck?

For AT&T HTC M8 Unlocked "T-Mobile User's" Only!
For those that might not have figured it out yet: Backup your current telephony.db file and Replace it.. Unzip and Copy the file attached to: data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases with ES File Manager (Any Root Browser Should Work) then Reboot and wait till you get Data, make sure you can browse the interweb and test sending a photo to yourself!
This was achieved on my Stock Rooted AT&T Unlocked HTC M8 on T-Mobile!
Backing up stuff is always Good! Recovery and a Good Root File Manager are your friends!

Try installing SQLite Editor, Navigate and find that same file in the directory I lead you to in my first post, click on the file, there you should see a bunch of APNs/Setting.. Delete them All! They might have to be deleted one by one.. Go back into your APN Settings on your phone and add the T-Mobile APNs and you should be good to go after a reboot! I don't have the M8 anymore but, I'll try helping as much as possible!
I have Tmobile service also, does LTE work on the ATT M8 with tmobile sim?
Does it have all the bands to run without any problems?

Are you rooted? Because you need to be to view or modify those files.
Also, in ES File Manager settings, you need to toggle "Root Explorer" to ON. Although, even with it OFF I believe you should still be able to view the files (just can't modify them). So I think your main problem is no root.
Well, I finally fixed my problem with not being able to send or receive MMS.
I have a AT&T M8 that recently switched over to T-Mobile. I decided to root, s-off, and changed over the developer edition ROM. I was even able to get OTA update after it was done.
I am ecstatic and exhausted after the process but seeing that I was able to get ride of that annoy AT&T boot up music was all worth it. :good::victory:
Now my follow up question is this. I now have a rooted phone with S-off. Should I worry more about security in the future? I typically only download from the Play store but I believe that there are a lot of junk out there as well. Should I lock my bootloader since I won't be doing anything like this the future?
All feedbacks are appreciated.
Please check your inbox. Thanks.

Extremely Curious to know how you solved the problem!
Hi,
I have an unlocked ATT M8 as you do. I'm in canada trying to get the darn mms working on the rogers canada network. No luck. Ive pondered de branding my phone and loading a WWE version on the cell, but I dont entirely know what I'm doing with that. Would you mind providing some direction, even if pointing me to relevant online posts that you used to learn how to do it correctly?
Appreciate any support.
Cole
PS. CONGRATS on getting mms running!

That person stated how they solved it. He flashed the Dev Ed ROM, which I believe natively supports both the AT&T and T-Mobile network. But this won't help you (Rogers).
Did you try the proper Rogers APN and still having MMS issues?

Thanks for the response. I have tried all the rogers apn settings, had a friend with an actual rogers m8 screen shot the settings with no success. Attempted adding mms specific apn settings as recommended by tier 2 rogers support. Again, no luck.
At this point I believe my only options are to try CM or see if there is a ruu toolkit that will work for rogers. To be honest, aside from one click root, im out of my depth.

I'd still keep trying with the APNs. Make sure with the carrier which APN is associated with your account, as there may be several. AT&T for instance has some 3 or 4 different APNs.
Rogers doesn't have any RUUs for this phone, as far as I am aware I don't see how CM will help, unless the ROM specifically supports Rogers and will have the proper Rogers APN pre-configured (or other things like build.prop). You may have better luck trying to find the stock Rogers ROM, or have another member here upload it for you.
