Thats because it checks for an imei. Of course the TP does not have one. There is a imei generator in the nook color development forum. Here's the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103766 It works on the nook color and the touchpad, but I tested on my prime and it's a no go. Maybe we can get a dev here to whip up one that will work for us. Check on the OP in the link for more info. Dizzyden's a pretty good guy and I'm sure he would help someone who knows what there doing.
hmm the xda app works normally for me. I do get the force close when it doesn't load up a page properly and I press back, but that happens on all my android devices.

There is some loading bug, which leaves the loading circle on the screen. Pressing back once or twice closes the program, starting again makes it start up normally.
I have the same issue. Forced to use the browser at point.
I am having the same issue. I read somewhere that it says the xda app is not currently supported by ICS. Does anyone know if there is any validity to that statement?

I had problems with the free app on my Desire HD so bought the premium version.Looks like the free app still has problems. The only solution is to buy the premium app....you`ll get working XDA plus the money paid goes to good of the XDA community.

Free one crashes on both my HC tablet as well as prime. So i just bought tapatalk which seems to be similar as xda premium interface but also works with several other forums not just xda. cost 2.99 but very useful and hasn't crashed on me.

Does the exact thing to me most of the time. Sometimes I can browse the sub-forums but then it will kick me out and force close. I am going to try tapatalk since I already have the premium version for that.
Since ICS, it crashes EVERY TIME.
Pretty annoying, considering how i got REALLY used to using it.
If the pro version was officially supported in ICS, i would purchase it.

Ok it's apparent that the "free" version is buggy. Interestingly enough, I have the paid for version, and never experience any of this. I have it loaded on both my Asus tablets.
Apparently it is the "free" version. I just ended up switching to Tapatalk and called it a day.

I bought nfs yesterday, and cannot get it to play for anything. The furthest I've been able to get is buying a car, it usually closes way before that. It doesn't give me a force close error, just goes back to my homescreen. Does anyone know what the problem is and what to do about it? Thanks!
I think they might be selling the version not very compatible with our phone. Mine works fine.
I've played a few races today and haven't had any troubles either.

Works for me on Nero V3+voodoo.
I guess you are past 15 minutes for refund, but contact EA.
I hope you got it for .99 and it's not big of a deal in the wallet department, bummer though you cannot get to work...

I've had it for a month, played/plays great. Completed all races, now need to collect the stars. You should contact EA to see about getting a more compatible version, or just Google NFS shift .apk and download one, since you've already paid.

If your phone number displays as "unknown" in your About Phone settings, that's probably your problem. I believe that issue exists with Macnut.

Only had a chance to play for an hour or so, but the only issue I noticed is that it doesn't seem to like the XDA Dev app! (you could cut the irony with a knife!)
Lots of FC's as soon as i try to bring up a post. Searching for xda obviously is no help, any thooughts?

Same thing happened to me on my Xoom with the free version. If you get the premium, it works
Premium works, but not perfectly on the Prime. For example, when scrolling, you'll often get an annoying flash from touching one of the topics first. I've been using Tapatalk instead on my Prime, which seems to run a little better.
For some reason on my prime I sign into my account then the next thread I click on I get the force close message any fixes?

Two possible solutions.
First, try clearing app data and cache (settings --> apps --> manage apps --> xda). If that doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling it.
Factory data reset clears most issues I've had (especially if you just upgraded to ICS and havne't done so yet. my gmail app was acting wonky after the upgrade and has been fine since FDR). FYI it'll erase your "SD card" so be sure to back up if you do this option.

I had the same problem, I upgraded to XDA Premium and everything works just fine now. If clearing cache etc. does not work, I'd spend the $1.50 and upgrade; I think it is worth the price for all the work these guys do and the knowledge that can be found in these forums!

Which is why i have premium now lol.
I've been getting bored with my phone, not because its a older phone now but it just doesn't have that fun factor it had when I first got it.
Are there any new apps that make your phone exciting? I find myself doing the same thing over and over, go into the 9gag app look at memes, read the news a bit, go on xda, text etc.
Get an android tablet and root it. Thats what I did after getting tired of messing with this phone.

I always keep looking for random games. Sometimes go back for old ones and replay haha. Glad there's still development going on for this phone. Trying to hold out for that gs3
Glad to see xrider and mrrobc still hanging in the vibrant forums. But honestly no matter what device you use you will get bored of it eventually. I have 6 devices most do the same thing.
However what I enjoy is HDMI my fave games like mc3 to my bigscreen with surround sound. To me its way more challenging to any console I've played.

I bought a transformern too. Prime is full of bugs with crappy GPS and wifi (you have to be nearly sitting on top of your router) and ICS is extremely buggy. The Prime was nothing more than ASUS getting the Tegra3 chip out before anyone else, but with massive sacrifices.
Manus - PMe me when you get yours and I will get you some link to rooting and recovery. There are 3 different ways depending on your build number.

Just put ICS on my vibrant which will hopefully keep it interesting until I can upgrade in a few months. Also got a Kindle Fire that i'm messing with.

just got a new prime 2 days ago and updated it to the official Asus ICS and about 3 hours ago this thing has gone into a reboot frenzy major deal breaker!I read theres another Asus update fix this week.If it doesn't help I'm paying bestbuy a little visit
You could flash MIUI, which has tons of themes avadible. Plus if you dont like having any launcher, you could just install one from the market.

When I press home and go and check my email or anything else, and return to the browser...it returns to the homepage. It does this everytime. It's pretty annoying. I've never run into this on my Inspire 4G. It's like its force closing when I press the home button.

Its my girlfriend's phone and she says, its fine. I informed her that there are other browsers and changes you can make. Her previous phone...iPhone 4.
She isn't used to Android, and I believe doesn't care enough. Thank god I made the switch before I was brainwashed too.

I exchanged my note under the warranty for that exact same reason. The new note did the same thing. It will even do it with dolphin browser eventually sometimes, though not quite as often. Ever since I rooted it and started using cm9 and AOKP with ics+ browser, it hasn't happened again.
I wish she would let me root it. Lol
I have run several ICS roms on my Inspire and I told her she would love CM9. I guess ill just have to wait for the official ICS update for the Note.

I noticed this as well. Good thing is, it's not an issue with ICS.
I honestly can't say this has happened to me using dolphin (which I installed immediately after purchasing the note)

I think it has to do with using more than one browser. If you use dolphin, I think it takes over the allotted usable memory for browsers and wipes the other browser's pages out.
I keep checking every other day or so for.the official update, no luck yet.

It is a very annoying issue. I was holding out on rooting, but I gave in and rooted. Now I use ics+ browser. This doesn't happen anymore. I wonder what the problem is with it when it is stock?
well Dolphin HD and Chrome beta dont do that and are way better than the stock browser
they are free so should check them out
