Looking for ultra slim slip case / sleeve with stand - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I was browsing around all the cases on amazon and couldnt find one that i was looking for. Basically i want a slip case that i can just put the transformer in when i have to transport it around and be able to take it out easily. I already have a invisible shield type protector on it and I hate the obtrusive cases that hide the design of the transformer. If it had a built in kick stand that would be amazing. Any suggestions? All the neoprene ones are too loose

Any "non" leather case?

Hi all, I've been following the board almost everyday, but it seems like many are interested in the Leather Portfolio style cases. Are there any portfolio style cases that are "not" leather (including the synthetic leather)? I'm just not really a fan of leather at all. Thanks in advance if anyone found any.
I think that all of he slim cases available right now are (p)leather. I also don't like my gadgets to look like they came out of a 1996 Skymall catalog so I have been looking for more modern case designs and have been sadly left empty handed.
Perhaps the TF Prime is just too new, for some reason leather-style cases always seem to be the first ones available for any new device since they are cut & sew. Maybe in a few months we will start seeing form-fitting TPU, silicon & siliconed fabric cases.

Case or No Case?

I took my device out of my Caseen case in order to do my downgrade/root...yes I know I didn't need to take it out, but I did.
I forgot how light and nice it is to have such a thin device. It got me thinking that I might not want to use a case that often. What do you think?
I'm a kind of a no case guy, but since it is my favorite expensive toy I'm going to try to keep it in the case as much as possible. The good thing about cases like the one you have, is that it is wonderful to use when you are on a flat surface, no need to hold the tablet or break your neck looking straight down.
I think the answer is both. For home use, I prefer not to have it in a case, enjoy the tablet for what it is. If you plan on taking it on a trip or to work, then put it in a case for that extra protection.
I plan on getting one of the ones posted in another thread where it holds both tablet and dock but other than that, no. I would but it would be annoying having it on and off to use the dock
The best case is the keyboard dock

I just got the 300 and I'm loving it. I agree that the best case is the dock but it worries me that some people have posted about the screen getting cracked when docked. I wonder if this happens when you put the tab with the keyboard in a bag and pressure is applied to the screen. If you read the tf201 forums some users have attached rubber or silicone bumpers to the dock to spread the pressure along more points. As for me I'm going to add the silicone bumpers and leave it docked. My ideal case would be a snap on hard plastic case for the back of the tab and leave it docked so that the back is protected by the case and the screen by the dock. I have yet to see a snap on case for the 300
I'm thinking of buying the Roocase or the Poetic case and cutting off the case in half so I can then use the part that covers the back only and leave the tab docked. Not sure how it will look but its the only way I can think of getting what I want.
I don't like cases. I got a good bag to carry it around in. When it's in my hands I want it as light as possible. Ruins the comfort and functionality of having a tablet if you increase the weight with a case, IMO.
^^^^^yup
Il just get a carrying bag

No.. no case! This light, thin tablet placed in ugly thick case..
Agree with Raul69.atl, best case is dock and just take care of device)
The main reason I get the case is to use it as a kickstand for watching movies or if i using at a table or desk. but i got one thats fairly easy to take out, so if I'm carrying it around the house, I take it out.
I ended up just encasing mine with Armorsuit gear and carrying it around like that. I much prefer it without the case. I would like a stand though. Any suggestions for a stand?

Yeah, there were some screen cracking issues with the Prime but that was a fault of a bad weight and pressure distribution when docked. If you compare the two docks side-by-side, you can tell that ASUS redesigned the TF300's so as not to have that problem. and as for a case I love sleeves. exactly like those laptop sleeves that lots of people get, but in 10" size. thats what I recommend.

Case = Piece of mind for me since I am so clumsy. I also agree that it is good to use as a stand for movies and surfing.
I went back and fourth myself over this issue. What I ended up doing with my 7” HTC Evo View 4G tablet was to get a case that's just the plastic part of the 360° style case, without the big hole in the middle to rotate of course. It's lightweight yet protects the corners and back. I'm hoping that type of case will be available by the time my red TF gets here.

With case! It's a €400,- device and would hate to get it broke or lots of scratches on it. But depends which kind of case because you got really thick ones which I think dont hold as good. The thin ones I think are better.
A advantage of a case (not all of them) is that you can use it as a stand for the tablet.
If you want to use it without a case but want to store it safely, why not use a 10" sleeve.
I just use a sleeve. Its easiest, and unless I get an otterbox like case this thing is gonna break if I drop it anyways. I just use sleeves and padding for when its in my bag
I love how sleek my TF300 is and I tried a couple of different cases but did not like the bulk they added. I agree that the keyboard dock is the best solution for docking and I bought one of those sleeves from Amazon and use it when i have to carry it around.
i just purchased a moko case and let me tell you. when i was on a plane flying back home from NTC, i wish i had done so sooner. lol
I actually went a few days without a case when i first got my Pad....i usually dont use a case for any devices as i am usually VERY careful with them. however, the Pad almost seemed to thin and light without a case and i was always very scared of dropping it. day 1, walking from my work to my car, i had a death grip on the thing...lol
needless to say, i got a case (moko slim multi-angle one off amazon for $15...well worth the $$ IMO) and it has been great. Gives that extra protection when i want it, a great multi-angle stand for watching videos or normal use (placed it on my lap and browsed with it last night) and it is actually fairly thin and light still. even without it on the "stand" it is easier to hold due to the grooves on the back.
it's so nice i may never take it out of the case again....especially since i have Tile floors throughout my entire house....lol
Sure glad I had a case on mine when my 2 year old threw it straight down onto the hard wood floor the other day! It's a Moko case.

What is the thinnest folding case available?

I am looking for a case for the 300 that is as thin as possible. I really only care about scratch protection, I don't expect it to protect from drops (not that most case will provide that protection anyways). I do need it to have a stand function to watch movies. Since this is already thicker than prime I want to minimize that as much as possible.
Even the cheapie vinyl thin case that came bundled with the Acer a500 at costco would be fine. It was very thin.
The case I have for my ipad2 is tapered at the edges to keep the profile as thin as possible instead of being just squared off at the side edges. In other words, it should wrap around the side edges like a glove.
i just ordered the MOKO slim fit case from amazon. I hope this caters to your needs. it's slim and tough enough to even withstand drops.

decent but not quite what I am looking for. The case you are talking about clips or hooks onto the tablet in about4 to 6 areas (4 corners plus maybe 2 additional top and bottom). It leaves alot of the edge exposed. On th eplus side it is usually a hard back case so decent protetion.
However, what I had in mind is a case that slips all around the edges of the tablet. Most cases are designed like this but except what I have in mind would be slimmer with the edges tapered to match the edge of the tablet but still wrapping the entire tablet (except at the ports). Hard to tell, but I think this case fits that description but it is for tf101 only:

Honestly? I am still waiting for something the like the shell+smartcover that my mom's Ipad has. That really is brilliant stuf.
For now I found this to be the thinnest sleeve/cover/whatever
Urbanflip series on HandiHeldItems
I have one and had to adjust the hole for the headphone jack.
But it works pretty good, is a lot thinner that some other case I bought and has a cut out for the charger.
But an Ipad-like smartcover .. to me that's the bomb

Wow, that's almost exactly what I'm looking for - just with the ability to use it with the dock! They have this one on their site that does just that:
HHI Keyboard Case with Slim Portfolio Stand Cover for Asus Transformer Pad TF300
I have a carbon fiber leather case for my Galaxy Tab 10.1 and won't buy another case unless it's the same material, it looks so slick and resists scratches and hides dirt like no other case. Since getting it, I've taken out the tablet probably 3 times!
Good find!

These are nice! To bad the carbon fiber one won't be out until June 18!
From my long awaited and totally worth it EVO LTE!
All 3 of these are pretty much the same and is the thinnest case out in the market:

http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Slim-Fit...57RI/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1338346673&sr=8-8
I found what I was looking for but unfrtunately it is only for TF101
http://www.amazon.com/rooCASE-Leath...8517&sr=8-1&keywords=roocase+tf101+tf300+slim
I also found a similar case on Ebay but it looks slitghtly cheap. I wish it wasn't microsuede:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-Transf...?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item3cc88b0bbc
This case is also very thin but I can't find it anywhere outside of the wholesale site:

I need a skin for my new ft300

browsed the net cant find anything. Is it to soon??
Iam looking for a full body skin made of silicon.
Armor suit has two right now
http://www.armorsuit.com/tablets-sc.../asus-tablets/asus-transformer-pad-tf300.html
I am also looking for a good armored back shell if that is what you mean?
I have one on my Galaxy Tab 7, it is a hard shell covered with silicon (like this one, mine was much cheaper if i recall right ). It fits tightly around the edges, can handle some drops, makes the tablet not much bigger in size and the tablet does not slip out of your hands easy and the screen never touches the surface if you lay it on a flat surface with screen down.
The nearest thing i can find at the moment is the one from Gumdrop. But I think it will make the tablet too bulky and the shipping costs to Europe are almost as expensive as the case itself.
The TF300 is fairly new, so it will take some time before factories start producing skins for our beloved tab.
I check eBay and Alibaba on a regularly basis and the only cases that i can find right now are leather ones.
I think in a month or two China will be flooding the world with affordable, good, sturdy, sleek and practical cases.
If i find one sooner then you i'll let this thread know.
Edit:
Ah now i read you want FULL body armor of silicon. Then I ony know of Gumdrop and Otterbox. The latter does not have a case for the TF300 yet.
Case of TF300
When can we take a group to buy the TF300 case ?
wont amor suit+ full body cover plus a folio case be enough for protection?

Otterbox Defender / Griffin Survivor Style Case??

I always use an Otterbox or Griffin heavy duty case for my electronics. I was wondering if there was such a thing our tablet? I also have a keyboard dock and don't want to have to remove the case to use it! Even better would be one that also protects the dock! Any suggestions or other brands?
Thanks!
Otterbox never made cases for Asus. But you could do a search for Gumdrop on Google. This won't protect your dock however.
I think however that you will have a very very hard time to find a case that is sturdy, splash-water and dust proof that will protect your tablet AND dock.
Yea
I really just want a case like the gumdrop but at least have the ability to dock the tablet without ripping off the 3 layers . I am thinking about making a modded case of sorts. Ill keep looking for now and post what I find. Thanks for the tip.
