So you're going to wait 5 months without an awesome tablet? You're a more patient man than me! You know Asus said the newer version won't come out till "June at the earliest" right? At first I was angry about the TF700 model, but then I didn't care when I found out it wouldn't be out for half a year. 5-6 months is a long time in the tech world! Not to mention the newer model is supposedly $100 more expensive. There will probably be something better than the updated Prime by then anyway...

Yup. It's not like Motorola releasing the RAZR MAXX like a month and a half after the RAZR which was released a month after the Bionic all at the same price. Now those customers really got screwed. No mystery why Motorola Mobility gets punked by Samsung and Apple.

Im going to take this with a grain of salt. Im sure there will be issuances anytime you have a device that's just out it has can have problems. I have faith given the OG Evo's track record that yes in a month theyll have an OTA update that addresses a lot ... still getting mine next friday .

F THAT! My wife has a friend who just happens to work for Sprint. she got her hands on the phone, her own, today! I played with it. the 24th can not come soon enough.
say what you want I have no pics to prove it but I wasn't going to spend my 5 minutes with it taking pictures. I wanted hands on time. personally 3D isn't bad I think people are expecting too much, more than anything. 3d Photo's are awesome. and the 1.2 dual core, and 1GB Ram. what is waiting? hands down butter smooth and fast. Ah I'm in love. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! If you really take the 3D as an added feature, and take in everything in minus 3D it's everything you dreamed of. My wife wasn't as impressed 3D, but she also admitted she expected the 3D to be more "movie like". whatever. she thought everything else about it was great and she owns the shift.
Also I think sense 3.0 is sweet. granted I'm coming from a samsung moment so ANYTHING other than samsungs crap is better in my eyes, but think the lock screen features are great.

Both phones are great but the photon was just the right choice for me. I'm a big guy 6'2", 250 pounds . I never thought anything would be to big for me lol but that 4.5 inch screen on the epic touch is over kill.

4.3 to 4.5 diagnol is virtually nothing. on sizemeup it shows the overall sgs2 is only 3 mm wider and exact same height as mopho

What I don't get is that some of these people seem to be Photon owners who for some reason have buyers remorse.
This phone isn't even half a year old and at present works perfectly fine as it is. It got root within the first few weeks, it got 2 updates to address it's initial issues, and the source was just released. No other phone that has been recently released has gotten this kind of treatment. WTF?!
ROMs are created to enhance a phone's capabilities. And at its current capacity, there's nothing to enhance on the Photon. At least nothing that can't be addressed by purchasing apps from the Market...

I have to agree Craigslist has gotten worse over time. I use to be able to sale something and get most of what I spent on it, but now I only get about a fraction. But, I don't entirely blame Craigslist for this, I have come to realize android phones really do not retain there value well because the sheer number of them in the market. I know bringing up Apple may get me flamed but Igadgets do fare a lot better on Craigslist even after the next iteration is released. And yes I own a Note and an IPad 3/hd/New.. Are what ever their calling it now....hahaha

And as stated when you posted in the wrong forum, people don't generally make custom ROMs for phones that they can't test their ROM on.

This phone has great specs. Get it. The iPhone is usually a little behind but over hyped. I didnt like the nexus because of the plastic feel and lower resolution screen

Then you have the constant, should I get this or wait crowd. The Sprint won't give me free stuff crowd. The I wish it had XXX feature group. This forum and many others are full of crybabies. It is a phone. It is only a few hundred dollars off contract. If a few hundred dollars off contract is a lot of money to you, you probably need to switch up your priorities and not buy expensive phones.

Last year when i purchased my evo3d sprint was paying $125-$150 for my old evo plus giving $75-$85 per line on early extensions. When a company does something like that it will cause a person to sit back and wait for a good deal to come along. Good forums like this one, that pass these deals on, sometimes allow us to get a great phone for next to free. I'm still shopping for an evolte with the same money i used on my original evo. (I'm not a troll, I"m just cheap)

I understand wanting to get a good deal. I just don't understand all the *****ing about it when Sprint tries to turn a profit. I only paid $125.00 for the LTE I ordered, I am sure my EVO 3D will sell for close to $200. I expense it, so it doesn't matter regardless. I bought my Treo 650 outright though for $650, at the time it was a great phone. It is just money, I'll make more.

While I'm excited about this device, I'm still on Sprint's network in an area that didn't have WiMAX, let alone 4G.
So . . . I'm not willfully upgrading until Sprint gets LTE in my area. Then I'll ask myself that same question: new iPhone, new whatever Android, or new BlackBerry (heh, you never know -- they might come back with THE BOMB!!) . . . until then, my HTC E3D rooted, unlocked and unstocked will suffice.

If you are serious.
It sounds like you like ROMs, right? Than means you like the whole development aspect of android phones. Then why the hell are you even considering a iphone?
I just can't fathom how somebody can't choose between one or the other.
If you want the status symbol and to be like everybody else, and you like to be spoon fed - go with the iPhone.
If you want something that is more than a phone, almost a hobby, something you can theme and Mod w/ bumps in the road - go Android (and this phone is the beast of Android right now).
If you like to tinker with the phone, go android. If you like things dumb'd down, go iphone.

This looks like its going to be a beast of a phone. Are these specs even necessary? Probably not but its still awesome.

"D" for Droid, "L" to designate a large screen, 4.7"+, and an "X" as in based on the One X, or just to indicate another flagship model via the same letter.
Will probably have a street name of Droid Lightning. My guesses for now. :silly:
Maybe htc version of the note? :silly:

Thunderbolt variant actually looks like a rezound variant by the ver number
I really hope it's the version of the note that was rumored. The note variant is the only device I've heard having a 1080p screen.

Fujitsu Siemens released a quad core Android device a short while ago with a 1080p display...

Know that everyone called me out and said I was full of sh!t....... I told all you guys four months ago about a new phone coming out to VZW and not to jump ships..... But every one said I was full of Sh!t and I don't test phones out for HTC......... WHO'S FULL OF IT NOW!!!!! Next time I have any type of news maybe you should listen to me and not call me out... To all the PPL's that jumped ship and upgraded to another phone you all can go back and read my older post about this and/or ask Scott or Newt. Thanks again for calling me out!!!!!!!! This matches up with leaked specs for HTC's new 5" phone.
Those benchmarks look great, but I think I'll wait until we get screenshots and more info (SD card? Removable battery?) before I think about jumping ship or not.

At least you have a choice. Being a teenager I can't afford to buy an off contract phone and still keep up with paying for the part of the plan I pay for.
I guess I need to start thinking about carrying a murse (man purse) around with all these huge screens coming out, or maybe a fanny pack, or a belt holster . Or maybe those huge rave pants will become trendy again...

I hope it does have removable memory and removable battery but won't bug me to much if it doesn't have a removable battery if it's a good size. I think all HTC devices on VZW have those things and maybe could be a requirement for HTC devices on VZW? Plus the Dinc 4G did and that's a variant of the one series.

or, you could buy a smaller screen phone. Just because a 5" phone comes out, doesn't mean you have to buy it.
