Try toggling the key on the dock that enables/disables the touchpad?

Did you ensure the touchpad is turned on? It's the fourth button from the left of quick launch buttons

Do you have it on IPS+ mode all the time?

nope i leave it about 3/4 brightness on regular isp. It eventually goes away after using it for videos and other things. if i use it as my remote which i do alot with google tv and the harmony link...it burns and i have a grid of lines on the screen left over. i find it crazy that it can burn in so fast

If it goes away, it is not screen burn. It's image retention.

The space bar doesn't work on mine since the update

Exactly, also image retention will be worse the higher the screen brightness regardless the device.

[Q] Issue: light seeping through touch button

Hi guys
On my SGS2 when the touch buttons are lite part of the light seeps through the gap of the hard button. Does anyone else have this?
I can only see it when it's pretty dark but its very annoying.
I don't have this :s
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Yeah, I have it too, but it's not too bad and only visible from certain angles and in a dark room.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Yeah I sometimes have itbut almost rarely, and like the other guy said only from certain angles when I'm looking for it. I put pressure on the button in that direction and it disappears usually

Ive got this very slightly on the right hand side. I also notice when im reading a web page with a black background the very bottom left has a white spot/pixel, it goes away when you start scrolling. Anyone else got the same problem?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Glad im not the only one who has this. Worth returning over?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Personally It doesn't bother me, its hard to notice and even when I can see it, its really tiny. So to me not a problem
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Im guessing you have Optus stock as well?
When you look at the touch button straight on can you see the light?
Mine has the same issue but i dont care.
I can only see it when I'm using the phone when it's completely dark
My wife has a mole but shes still beautiful, can we not get a little obsessed with perfection with our phones? It is after all the slimmest, lightest, dual core power house smart phone out there....forgive its quirks?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
My phone did this at first but it went away after a couple weeks as the home button got better seated through use. Definitely not worth returning over.
same here, right hand side!
this was the reason for me to switch off the button lights in settings. looks better anyway
It has to be pretty dark...
didnt realise you could turn the light off

send it back, complain to samsung, demand they redesign the handset!
erm...
This will make it heavier and bulkier!!!
Happens to mine and there is NO PROBLEM with it. Be happy!

And more expensive. All these perfectly good handsets getting returned for new ones have to be paid for somehow.
I switched mine off looks so much better, per sonly I wish it was all black like the nexus s, i think that looks so sexy
Have it too, but dont matter !! I am a perfectionist too ( 620 euros it is for a phone !! ) but i think... i mean ... returning it for this????
If it is same as anyone elses in here its BARELY visible and you should try to find it again.. enjoy your phone. ( there are great chances of getting a same unit back, cause its a design thing i think )
Hey,
have it as well. But I don't really mind.

Hi Ministig
I've got the white spot/pixel issue, only noticed it when I was looking at another site which had a very dark blue background

Finally decided to get the Prime 64GB

Just picked up the 64GB Asus Transformer Prime 2 hours ago and so far really liking how fast this thing is! I got the keyboard as well, but as I am typing on the Prime, I keep accidentally hitting the track pad and keeps moving around. Will have to check for the settings if there is any. It does have Android 4.0.3.
Now will be selling my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

And you don't have any issues with horizontal lines across your screen?
I decided to get breakfast this morning. It was pretty good, although I kept trying to eat my cornflakes with a fork.

So far no horizontal issues that I see. only seeing the GPS issue like others, and low WiFi signal.
Another thing I did notice is that I have the keyboard dock and when I docked the Prime, it was showing that the Prime tablet was at 100% and the dock at 90% and started to have some lock ups, I restarted and when it did, it showed the Prime tablet 89% and the dock 91% and doesn't show that it is charging the Prime tablet. Hmm... Not good for a $600 tablet.
Another thing I noticed is that the cursor jumps all over the screen when I am typing with the keyboard and I don't even touch the track pad. Another bad thing. I might try to exchange the keyboard dock for another and see if it is the keyboard.

gps fix seems to be released in the new OTA update tonight.
What version does it up date too? Running the System Firmware Update and keep getting "Failed to Connection" I will keep trying
Hopefully it does fix GPS as I would use this feature a lot since I would be traveling outside office everyday.

Try turning off the touchpad while you type. It's the 4th button from the left on the top row, if your keyboard is like the TF101's.

Screen tear when jumping between apps

When I use the multitask function to jump between apps, I get a triangular-ish shaped screen tear which happens in a flicker then goes away.

I feel like it happens more when in an app with overplayed screen controls, such as Polaris office
Happens for me as well, little less since the last update last week.
I highly recommend that you post your findings in the official discussion thread to assist us all in shedding some light on these issues.
+1 I see it often too.
I see it somtimes when Im using the youtube app.

Yes, I see that tear (color being the currently running app's bg color) happen all the time...

Yes, it seems to be more of an in-app issue. I first noticed this playing Angry Birds lol

smart screen off or smart screen on?

I have a flip case and really like the idea of Smart Screen Off turning display off when I close cover over it - if I understand this correctly. I now see there is a Smart Screen On. So does this mean if I want screen to turn off when I close case AND on when I open it, that I have to install both apps?
In reading SSOff description, I thought it might do both those things. I am not interested in the ability to use hand gestures, but would like the proximity sensor to turn it on and off by just opening or closing the case.
If anyone can straighten me out, I'd appreciate it. I've read other threads and searched, but don't know.
I'm back to answer my own question. Smart Screen Off does exactly what I was wanting - turns screen off when I close case and on when I open it. I tried the Lite version first and then got the very reasonable paid version. There are other options in settings, but I think I'm good with the basics. It is GREAT!

How ia battery life with this running?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
I've been running this app for about a month and absolutely love it! I can't see not having it on my device. On the battery life...well it's hard for me to gauge that, since I always have my device plugged in somewhere. But from what I can tell from my battery history, it looks to be very minimal.
It's also cool to kind of show off what Android is capable of...my friend with an iPhone was like damn...you waved at your device to turn it on...then off!! He was completely amazed. Hahaha!

Fine. In the documentation, it's suggested battery life might actually be better. I really like it. How did I ever do without it in this whole month I've had the phone!
Thanks for sharing this app. I have been trying different type of screen on off app and this is by far my fav. Almost no impact on battery life and works great.

[Q] I'm irked by this, and don't understand it.... (screen responsiveness and heat)

So, most of us have had our OGs go a little crazy responsiveness wise while plugged in and I've figured out that it's from the heat from our phones... Whyyyyy in the heck does the heat from the battery cause random presses on my phone? That's so dumb.... But, I know it's the source now because now that i've dropped my phone and have to get it replaced it has been getting super hot, and the spots where it gets hot will actually press buttons on its own. It's pretty weird because i can't use those parts of the screen anymore, it just won't respond to touch anymore but when the phone starts getting warm it'll do all sorts of stuff on it's own. Do you think it has to do with LG's "zero-gap" screen?
Yes.
The screen is super sensitive. It may be the biggest issue sadly.
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Unfortunately, today, after no heating issues, my phone has developed a thin horizontal strip of screen that does not respond to touch. The issue seems to have materialized out of nowhere. No drops, no heat.
The strip is about an inch up from the bottom of the phone.
Luckily, the strip is thin and does not adversely affect my user experience enough to be a hindrance. Although, the fact in itself is bothersome. Hopefully, this will not spread out more throughout the rest of the phone.
FWIW, the strip is right across the Google search widget.

That sounds like the issue I have although mine only occurs on the home screen. I can't press any of the bottom icons unless I move higher. It works fine everywhere else.

This phone definitely has some quirks to it, but it really is the best phone i've ever had. It's the smoothest and fastest i've ever had, if it does start to bother you or gets worse, i'd take it to AT&T and just get a new one, not like you did something to make it happen so why not take a replacement?

I agree wholeheartedly.
I'm not with AT&T so I got my phone on ebay. I've read that LG will fix it with a proof of purchase, though. Gotta search the threads and possibly contact LG. As of right now it's not a major problem.

My issue isn't affected by charging, though. I'm charging now and no issues other than that one strip. And that is there regardless if it's plugged in or not. That's also the only area affected. No lag, stutter, slowness.

Yeah, that is a common issue with all Android devices. I've read that it is a voltage issue with the USB cable, charger or outlet. If it's happening, try a different cable or outlet. That usually solves my issue. I had the same issue on my SGS3, my old HTC Inspire, and my wife's Pantech Burst... But it was by far the worst on my Motorola Photon. Random touches would happen while the phone was plugged in and it became unusable while charging.

My OG doesn't get hot at all, at least it hasn't happened yet. But I do get occasional scrolling issue, it would go from scrolling the entire page buttery smooth to crawling 2-3 lines at a time, and instead of scrolling the page, it'd open the app where my finger started to scroll. Turn the screen on/off usually fix the problem, but it gets annoying after awhile. I thought it was quick memo causing it, that was the first time I noticed it but then it started to happen randomly when the phone is on charge, I don't think I've seen it happen on battery though. So maybe it is related to charge/voltage issue.

Mine by no means got hot, until it was broken, but it did get a little warm just like any handheld device does after some use. Seriously though, if Sprint did get an update to fix it, then i think AT&T needs to step their game up..
