Kindle and nook app - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

On kindle app I could get a dictionary to look up words but couldn't in portrait mode.
On nook app I got it in portrait mode but couldn't figure out if there was a dictionary.
Do u know how to get books on kindle app in portrait mode?
Do u know if there is a dictionary for nook on the android app?

Enable auto rotate screen, launch kindle app, rotate tablet.

Anyone know how to force portrait native apps 180°

I just bought a Transformer Prime and am going to be putting it into a portfolio with the dock on the right. Unfortunately this means apps that are native portrait will open upside down.
Did you try Rotation Locker ? - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412752

[Feature request] Automated keyboard switch (docked/undocked), for unrooted users

Hey all,
I love my Prime and i appreciate the work Asus is doing to provide the best possible end user experience. But there is one issue with the keyboard dock which keeps me bugging ever since i got the first model of the Transformer.
Most of us prefer their own onscreen keyboard choice over the "Asus Keyboard". For example i love and use the default android keyboard and thus i am required to switch to "Asus German keyboard" everytime i dock my Prime, else important keys like Y/Z or Ä/Ö/Ü will not be mapped correctly.
I suggest adding the following option to the "Asus customised settings":
- Automatically switch to last selected "Asus Keyboard" when docked and return to previously chosen input method on undock
There is an app available for rooted users which kinda does the job, and demonstrates that it is possible to automatically switch input methods: Keyboard Manager But i think the auto switch feature is essential to non-root users too.
How do you guys think about that? Should we forward this request to Asus?

I am confused. My Prime does that already.
Using Thumb Keyboard. When docked, it asks to switch to ASUS keyboard. Undocked and back on Thumb.

Using the default android keyboard undocked. As soon as i dock the tablet i just get a message saying "change to asus keyboard to keep consistency". But it does not switch automatically.
If you got an US (QWERTY) dock, you may not notice the difference because the keys are mapped the same anyways. For example in Germany Z and Y are inverted, and they will not be mapped correctly unless the Asus Keyboard is active.
I am on version .11, you?
Yes, US keyboard.
On .14
When docking, it asks to switch to ASUS keyboard. There is a check box so it won't ask again. When undocked, Thumb Keyboard is back.

If you have root, get KM Launcher - it'll let you set the docked and un-docked keyboard. I'm using swiftkey X tablet with the t'former standard for un-docked and docked respectively.

Now I just need to sort out my stylus touchscreentune settings to work out if I'll but it for a fiver haha

Setting YouTube To Open Fullscreen

When using the default YouTube app on my Transformer Prime it frustrates me that the videos always begin in the default small view and require me to select full screen playback through a button. Is there a way to have any selected video automatically open that way system wide, through either an app or a setting I'm missing? I hope what I'm looking for is clear enough through my description.

You haven't missed the explanation of your inconvenience unfortunatelly you missed the forum -> Q & A.
To answer you question: nope, haven't found that setting. Would be a nice suggestion for an update implementation.
I'd be happy if it would continue buffering when I pause and the screen auto locks. Sometimes I have to deal with other things, and I don't want the stupid thing to start completely over.
Trick YouTube app to fullscreen playback
If you're rooted, you can install the Xposed module App Settings and then set your YouTube app Screen(dp) to something like 480x854 to make the app behave like it would on a device with a smaller screen (e.g. phone) - because on a phone YouTube plays fullscreen when you're in landscape mode.
I'm using the HD YouTube app found here but I'm guessing you can make this work with stock YouTube also.
The only caveat is that you lose the collapse button to get out of fullscreen - but you can always rotate to portrait if you want access to more info.
Hope this helps, and here's my screenshot of the app setting for YouTube HD (on TF201):

[Q] How can I set portrait mode as the default orientation mode

Hi guys,
I have a tablet and I want to set the portrait mode as the default orientation mode instead of landscape mode. Can anyone tell me how?

Which tablet do you have? My Acer a500 has a switch that can lock the screen orientation to the desired position. There are also a few apps in the play store that can lock it in as well.
Are you using custom launcher. I use nova launcher and you can force portrait by going into nova settings>look and feel>screen orientation>force portrait. I think most of the launchers have this feature.

Game auto flipping to WRONG / UPSIDE DOWN orientation!

So I got Paper Monsters when it was the FAOTD on the Amazon App Store and I installed it on both my Kindle Fire HD 7's and for some reason it keeps auto flipping upside down!? If I have it in landscape, it auto flips to reverse landscape and vice versa. Has anyone ever seen anything crazy like this? My other games work great. No problem like this they auto flip to the CORRECT orientation... this is so far the only game / app that does this?!
I think you have the wrong forum. Try q&a.

Download "set orientation" from the app store, enable it, set it to auto.

Thanks for the post a couple of years ago. Didn't find "Set Orientation", but did find "Ultimate Orientation Control" and it works.
