Thanks for the firmware but it seems not to be expandable... well not by Stuffit Expander for Windows which says "This is not recognised as an expandable file". Is it a. a damaged file; b. not really a .rar file (but renaming it to '.zip' didn't help; c. should be expanded on another OS that understands this sort of thing?
These files are processed in the Android kit as a 'zip file... why is it stored as a .rar file, please?

The real firmware is stored as a .tar.md5 , in which they compress to a .rar for smaller space

[Q&A] CyanogenMod 7.1 and <<your device is not compatible with this item>>
Hi!
I tried to move to last nighty CyanogenMod 7.1.0 on my Galaxy S II, but noticed, that in market I can't find a game Let's Golf 3 HD because of "your device is not compatible with this item" error.
I searched the web and found many threads about wrong LCD Density. So I tried to fix by changing density, cleaning market cache, but it didn't help (as many other people asking the same question).
So I continued searching, because it seemed like firmware ID or something like that, that's being used by Android Market. Finally I found a thread that might be the one and tried my luck.
For a clean experiment I flashed a clean ROM + gapps.
1) I copied /system/build.prop to /sdcard/build.prop
console:
Code:
su
cp /system/build.prop /sdcard/build.prop
2) I edited it with notepad++ bu replacing build properties
Code:

3) Then I moved it back.
console:
Code:
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
mv /sdcard/build.prop /system/build.prop
4) reboot
5) clean market cache:
Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->Market->Clear data
And it worked, I can search games I couldn't find.
Hope this post will help many people and myself when installing fresh rom.
If anyone notices some errors these changes might cause or might know the exact rows, that needs to be changed, please reply!

[source: http://androidforums.com/spica-all-...ected-app-market-fix-tutorial-build-prop.html]
Not sure what i did wrong but after rebooting the phone with the altered build.prop it wouldn't start up, i managed to get back into recovery and push the original build.prop and it started up fine, strange.
Hope you replaced only that build properties block in the start of the file only.
When I replaced whole file with the config from source, it didn't start too.
Maybe try to find specific parameters, that crashes your phone? Try to find them by changing row by row, maybe multiple rows.
Yesterday I was playing around again and did everything as I've written in first post, except, I used older build.
