Good afternoon...I have a question for you all I recently left the Titan HD rom to try this and the suprarom but I am having a problem...I do the usual wipe cache and d.cahe and factory reset and I also use a super wipe....but now when I try to install this rom or the supra rom and I reboot it just sits at the white screen with the "hTC" logo in green...is there anything I can do to fix this?
Thanks

Are you HTC unlocked?
If yes there is a different method to flash ROMs with custom kernels.
You will have to use Flash image GUI to flash kernels 1st then flash rom through recovery.
Or
Else you will need a PC and flash the boot.img from ROM.zip using fastboot, then flash the ROM

If you are unlocked using htc method (which leaves you s-on) the boot partion cannot be written through recovery. It can be only written through fastboot (which needs pc) or running android (by flash image gui).

Sounds like your kernel is not getting flashed. If you used HTC's method to unlock you'll need to use fastboot to flash the boot.img

I've answered this type of question a few times in other posts. I've edited my answer from a few minutes ago to help answer your question. Feel free to post back if anything isn't clear!

When booted into the custom recovery through the traditional methods, reboot recovery, bootloader -> recovery, etc., HTC unlock method does not unlock *kernel* write access but does unlock *system* write access.
The main issue around kernel write access is due to the HTC unlock method only allowing kernel write access in two modes:
1) Booted in normal Android mode. My application, Flash Image GUI, will flash any kernel .zip file with the HTC unlock method because it runs in normal android mode. HTC unlocks write access to the boot partition, where the kernel is stored, in normal Android mode. Flash Image GUI also properly loads the respective WiFi modules essentially eliminating this WiFi mismatch error.
2) Fastboot booted into the custom recovery using the following command: fastboot boot c:\android\cwm-recovery.img. HTC unlock method allows kernel write access while using fastboot boot of a custom recovery.
Hope that helps!

Hey guys, I just received a new Evo 3D through Asurion. I came from the Evo 4G, which I loved but my screen shattered the other day and I figured it was a good move to try to get a 3D considering the better specs. I'm not new to rooting, I used to flash different roms on a weekly basis and pretty much knew all the ins and outs.
From what I've gathered however, there is no current method for a full s-off unlock with the new 1.5 hboot which I have I read one of the guides in the dev forum that uses HTC's unlock method which gives you root but not s-off. It says you can't flash roms and kernels through recovery but you have to go through the boot loader... I'm a little confused about this?? I'm used to just booting into recovery, wiping whatever I need to, flash my stuff, and reboot. What's the difference here? Do I have to use adb on the computer to boot into recovery every time I want to flash something? I guess I'm just not quite sure what the limitations of HTC's unlock is and what exactly I have to do every time I want to flash a custom kernel or rom. Thanks for any help
You boot into recovery through fastboot when you flash a ROM, anything else is normal. The reason for this is the boot partition its locked (that's where the kernel goes). You can use flash image GUI to flash kernels on the go (no fastboot).
Thanks, don't you always boot into recovery through fastboot though? As in power down the phone, hold power and volume down, then boot into recovery? Also what is the flash image GUI?

You only need to fastboot to recovery when you flash a ROM because it gives tempest write access to the boot partition. If you're flashing a theme our anything without a kernel, you don't need fastboot. Also, flash image GUI lets you flash a kernel on the go so you don't need fastboot.
I have the 1.50 and used the unlocked method. What I do is use the flash gui app and flash the twrp with it and then reboot into recovery and wipe everything, format, and then flash my rom I want. If I want a different kernel I flash it after I flash my rom but I first go back to main menu and rewipe everything but data then flash my kernel and reboot. I've done this alot and I've always had no problems. I'm using the new twrp 2.0. Hope this helps and u cn even pm if u need futher info.
i was able to successfully unlock bootloader, was able to flash a rom successfully, used that rom for a good couple days. then i decided to try a new rom InfectedROM Eternity™ | RLS_1.5 | NIGHTLYS | 3.0 & 3.5 | XE BEATS |(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1277431&highlight=stock+radio), so i went into recovery, wipe cache, dalvik, factory reset, system. then i flashed the new rom, new rom loaded but stuck in that roms boot screen.
i went back to recovery wiped everything out again, installed the 1st orig rom i installed, now it just loads to the htc boot screen, & every 30sec or so the htc boot screen would go off & come back on. i went to recovery wiped everything again, did nandroid restore, same results, any suggestions?
what im using:
unlocked bootloader
s -on
hboot 1.50
using teamwin recovery v2.0
Just wipe flash a new rom. Should be good to go

Did you apply any tweaks or different kernels? was your kernal that you are on now compatible with the rom that you had put on? The recovery your on, r you on 2.0 or the second releaese of 2.0?
You could try to reflash your recovery and then try to nandroid back. Or try a different kernel and or different rom and go from there. Kind of hard to diagnose bc not sure of exactly what you have done completely. If all else fails, search for the ruu and re apply the original rom and re root.
From my guess, it sounds as something that was applied didn't apply right. Again, not sure on all the details.. I know its not much to go on but good luck on it.
Look at the bright side, your obviously not bricked and if you have to re apply the original and start over, its not that bad. Just a little time out of the afternoon.
only update i did was the rom
tried about 2 more diff roms, still same issue
hmm.. i also choose the "system format" in twrp, would that have done some damage?
Are you using fastboot to boot into recovery? If not, and you're hboot 1.5, then that's your problem.
And wiping system wouldn't cause any issues as long as you flash a new ROM after wiping the system, before you reboot.

ah ok i manually go into hboot with the down volume + power. did "fastboot reboot-bootloader" into bootloader, wiped out everything & reinstall rom, still same issue.
Try extracting the boot.img from the zip file containing the rom and flashing it with with fastboot binary. If you have S-ON, CWM can't flash the boot partition so you'll get bootloops with any rom that needs a custom initrd.gz. You need to manually flash the boot partition.

Yea, do adb reboot bootloader, and then do fastboot boot recovery.img.
You will need to make sure that you have a copy of your recovery.img in the folder that you are working out of when you issue the fastboot boot recovery.img command

Okay, I'm having the same problem. No matter what I do, I get stuck in a boot loop after installing a rom. Extracting the boot.img and flashing in fastboot doesn't do a thing. My nand backups don't work either (get stuck at restoring boot).
Don't have any problems installing recovery and gaining root. I'm at a loss here. I really want to get my MIUI on!

Are you booting your recovery from fastboot? Fastboot boot recovery.img. If not, boot.img won't flash. It's not necessary to flash the boot.img separately, just boot your recovery from fastboot and you'll be good.

Don't Worry Dude.
Ok dude dont worry... had the same prob when i first rooted
ok first you power down your phone
then charge it for like a day
then go into fastboot
using hassoon2000 rooting tool unlock the bootloader (dont worry when you unlock boot loader it will give you a stock rom)
then get the CWM recovery with OFF MODE CHARGING working ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2092741 )
dont use the one included in hassoon2000 2.3 all in one rooting kit because off mode charging is not working (its an older version)
then after you flash recovery turn on your phone into the UI and your good
and if you want to put custom rom i recommend Android Revolution HD ( much more stable than other roms)
and if you want to flash ROM remember to WIPE YOUR CACHE AND DALVIK CACHE(dalvik cache in advanced menu):good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good: good luck!

if that does not work you can RE-lock your device, then boot into Bootloader, then run the official RUU for your device and return to stock. Then re-unlock your device and reroot usin toolkit. Also you could flash a recovery through Fastbbot using
$ fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img

I accidentally missed a step when flashing a custom ROM onto my HOX+, and now it hangs at the "HTC quietly brilliant" screen every time (but I can still access CWM recovery and bootloader). I know that all I need to do is re-lock the bootloader and use the most recent RUU, but I cannot get my computer to detect my phone to re-lock the bootloader. Is there another way to re-lock the bootloader? If not, what should I do?

Hi,
today I wanted to flash this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249760 , but by mistake I flashed boot.img by clicking "flash system" on WinDroid HTC Desire X toolkit I think this is the reason why I can't install any rom on my device because it stuck on the black screen after white HTC. I wanted to flash stock system.img but I can't find it anywhere :crying: Can anybody help me?
Just flash that Rom through recovery then reboot to bootloader and type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and flash the boot.img inside.

Recovery? If you have JB version you must have hboot 1.25, too; if you have 1.24 hboot install an ICS recovery.
And don't forget to wipe all.
