[Q] Change SDCard? - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

I've been looking around but can't seem to find the answer to this. I have rooted my NT with a 4GB SDCard. I would like to switch to a larger card. Can I turn off my NT, remove the 4GB card. copy everything from the card to a 16 or 32 GB card, and then insert the new card and restart the NT?
If that won't work, how can I do this?
Thanks,
Bob

Turn off NT, remove the 4GB card. copy everything from the card to a 16 or 32 GB card. Must be working.

If your using this sdcard to boot from, you are probably going to have to make that partition bootable as well. Usually the windows partition abilities are pretty limited so you'll have to use one of those free partition tools out there.

I'm not booting from the SDCard - so does that mean i can change the card by simply copying all the files to the new card?
Bob

Yeah just copy everything from the 4gb card to the 32gb card and everything will work just fine

[Q] Problem with micro sd 32gb with fat32

I have a 32gb sd card and formatted with my nook tablet. I've tried to put the videos and photos files (over 2gb) to my device. It can be appeared first time. But some of the files disappeared after I reboot the device or connect to pc. And also I can't download some of the exter download files (almost 200mb to 1gb) from apk. I want to know it's the problem of the format method (fat 32) or my card problem? Thanks!
is that the way to partition the sd? HOw to do for nook tablet? Thanks
please help........!!!!
You do know that FAT32 will not handle a file over 4GB.....
I would format the card in a card reader on your PC and not let the Tablet do that.
It doesn't appear that he is trying to load a single file of over 4GiB, but rather that the collection is of the sizes that he mentioned.
Will FAT32 not handle a 32GiB drive, with a bunch of files of just say 50~500MiB each? Because I remember not too long ago doing just that on my PC...
FAT32 Should read just fine....hmm ...perhaps reformat the card for.another format and see if that fixes the issue? If not, your tab could have a bug somewhere. Try a factory reset
I thought the NT could only handle 16gb expandable storage. The guy in the store told me it is a combined 16gig internal and external to achieve 32gig and a 32gig card would not work.

I am using a 32gb card in my Nook at the moment. It seems to recognize the entire 32gb just fine. Worth the <$40 it cost.
And to the OP, formatting my 32gb SD card was a b***h. I had to format it in win7 as just popping it in the Nook didn't work. I formatted as FAT32. I would suspect you may need to re-format the card with a PC as other posters have suggested.
I've been using a little free program from http://www.sdcard.org called SDformatter that works great for formatting SD cards.
By the way, some of my extra download files for the game displayed as 0b. And I can't delete.

That is the suggested formatter for the SD card in the Nook Tablet based on a thread buried deep here on XDA.

Does the phone come with an SD card?

Just wondering if I should pick up a card beforehand or does the Evo 4G LTE come with one?
My phone did not come with an SD card. You'll have to buy one separately.
no sd card but that new 64gb card I put in sure is nice.
Short answer: NO. You will need to get yourself one. You can get a 64 GB microSD card that will fit perfectly and work.
Long answer: You don't really need one. Yes, it comes with 16GB of storage, which is partitioned into: about 2 GB for the system, about 2 GB for apps storage, and the rest (about 10 GB) is put into the "/sdcard" partition. It's not really an sdcard, but a fake sdcard. It looks like an SD card to Android. This is where you would put the regular stuff that you would put on a normal SD card. IF you put in your own microSD card, then it will be accessible via both paths "/sdcard2" or "/sdcard/ext_sd", as they both point to the same location. I have both my camera (and video) and music storage pointing to my "external" memory (all 64 GB). IF you do not put in your own memory card, then you can still access the internal storage over USB, but you will have to do so via MTP. Google that. Most modern PCs should have support in the OS.
So, in summary... relax. You don't need to get your own memory card right away. See first if you really need it.
no. no and no.

[Q] SD Card with 64GB does not get mounted properly

I have bought a SanDisk Ultra 64 GB microSDXC (Class 10, UHS-I) and put it into my new S3 (16 GB, black):
In "Settings" the Card gets detected and shows its correct size (59GB)
When plugging the SD Card into my Notebook, it's shown as 64 GB device, also
When pluggin the Phone with inserted SD card to the PC via USB, two new drives are shown for the internal and the external space of my phone. They contain different files, but have both the same size (11GB)
Therefore, i am unable to use the 64GB of my external card. I guess it does not get mounted properly. Instead the extSdCard folder seems to be located at the internal space.
Do you need more detailed information for helping me to solve this issue?

/edit: I forgot to mention that after not being able to solve this, i rooted my phone. But nothing changed.

[Q] please help me i have problem

i brought micro sd card for my phone it has phone memory 500 mb sd card 2 gb cant remove it and i buyed 16 gb so i want to install apps on my phone to new 16 gb card so i cant do it when i want to change preferred install location here is only 1st phone storage and 2nd 2gb card so what do to install apps on 16 gb card?
P.S i can delete write files on 16 gb card
Are you saying your phone has 2GB internal memory or a 2GB removable SD card? If it's a removable card, all you need to do is copy all the files to a folder on your computer, put the 16GB card in your phone, format it, then copy everything back from the comp to phone.
If the 2GB memory is internal (noted as 'SD card' by the system in some devices), then by default apps are installed here and not on the external SD card (removable card). There are ways to do it though, but they are phone specific and depend on whether a dev has made such a method work for your phone.

Switching from a 16gb to a 64 gb SD card

Hi,
I currently am rooted and run CM. I want to switch my external card to a 64GB card. I did it and my S4 recognized it with no problem but my SU did not work. When I switch it back it worked just fine. IS there a process to safely switch to my new 64GB card?
I went into Clockwork recovery and saw a partition option but I don't want to partition it just format it to work.
Thanks!
Steve
Odd, it should work without any issues, but you could try transferring everything on the 16gig to a folder on your computer, and then transfer those files to your 64gig. That's what I did.
