I have no idea if potatoman's custom camera mod has any flaws,
but I do know for a fact that the stock camera in our SGS2 phones
do achieve the full 30fps in all video recording modes except in the
very highest HD video mode where it only achieves approx 25fps
which is really excellent too.
Check it out yourselves using a windows app called MediaInfo, it's a
free download: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MediaInfo
It adds an option in explorer so when you right click on a video file it will
add an option called "mediainfo" and all you do is click that and a box will
popup with useful information about the video including exact frame rates.
Okay did a evening video on windows 7 just looking at properties was 26fps maybe the lighting did it will do a day video put it to my PC and see what the fps are thanks for the reply

When you do make these new fps tests, be sure to make two of them.
One at the highest video settings which is HD 1080p it's at the top of the
list which normally is the default setting.
Then go down one step to the second choice in the list which is HD 720p.
You will find that the HD 720p setting will achieve the full 30fps while
the the highest settings HD 1080p in the list achieves at least 25fps.
(which is very good too)
Okay I am aware of this the mod I spoke of guess you 30fps on highest setting 1080p which is what I was wondering if anyone has tested it seems I might be the first also will back up current files

Camera on that particular rom seems snappier and higher clarity.
Haven't tried any videos yet I know pic quality is awesome but need to do a video for it I did read audio is better

Did anyone ever try this out for the I777? I noticed on Potatoman's old thread that he now recommends the lgcamera app from the market. Is this hack baked into any of the roms here, or was that just something that the OGS2 devs added?
I use to use that camera in my rom but it had issue with 1080p focusing and also had audio/video sync issues. I believe that was due to the fps hack.
So I modded mine to up the audio only for both 720p/1080p.

Moblynx has taken the ICS camera app, tweaked it with some added features, and added support for 2.2/2.3 phones. There is a free version with ads or $.99 for the non-ad version. IThere's a short review over on Android Central, and it's called "Camera ICS" on the market. I'd post links but I can't do that yet.
I don't know if it's me being dumb but I don't have that camera button in video mode I've seen in videos or an option to switch it on.
Point blank help....

Hi!
Yesterday I started to notice that when I try to play videos even on YouTube app the video is like pushed too far up and I can only see the bottom part of the video. I have to rotate it sideways to see the whole video. It is very annoying has anybody else experienced this?

Simply, no. If you move from 4:3 (or 16:12, to clarify the point) resolution to 16:9, you will lose pixels since there's only 9 pixels vertical for every 16 horizontal instead of 12. And since we're already at the top end of the camera, we can't compensate that by adding horizontal pixels to keep the total amount same. So you will lose pixels if you want to take widescreen images, no matter what.
This is really bad for so called PHONE OF THE YEAR.
Is this feature added in any custom rom?

The average user and some of most advanced users don't care about this.
So just because it doesnt do what you want means it cant be the phone of the year.
Myself doesn't know what you talking about

Only solution is to use 6mp mode for widescreen photos. I use CameraZoomFX
Yes I think so, as its one of the basic feature which even every ordinary phone possess.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
The only solution with the stock camera app is to use 6MP or any resolution on the phone marked W. You cant use 8. So answer is a NO.

I am also looking for something as cool as iphone has...
You could use PC if your phone supports 60, 90 or 120fps.... Check in settings.
That way slowing it down witb pc sw won't make video laggy.
I just had to get a new phone and I got the Samsung galaxy s5 lol it has way better battery life and the camera is so much better with slow motion built in. I guess that is the only way till a Dev makes a app for all androids
