Dears,
how is it possible to sync the calendar to Google?
When I created the 1st event, the phone asked me if to save to personal calendar or Google Calendar, so all my events are on personal calendar.
I enabled synchronization to my Google account, but it does nothing.
How can I sync all events to Google calendar?
Thanks and best regards

Go to settings > account & sync > Sync Gmail account. Your calendar should get synchronised.
Hope this helps!
Well, unfortunately this doesn't work, it starts syncing and finishes in just 5 seconds...
when the phone asks you to save the calender event to personal calendar or Google Calendar.... save it to google calender... it will be synced with your google calender account...
there is no easy way you can migrate the personal calender entries to google calender... so redo all those entries and save to google calender
Eheh... 5 years of events... amazing...
I think at this point I have to sync through Outlook...
I found this on a website:
1. Go to Applications under the Settings Menu
2. Select Manage Applications. Will take a few seconds to load.
3. Scroll down to Calendar Storage.
4. Midway down under Storage you will see "Clear Data" button. Press the button. This wipes out the data in the calendar on the PHONE ONLY. You now have a calendar with no data.
5. Go out to main screen and select the Menu button.
6. Select "Accounts & Sync.
7. Select the Google choice and the next screen should give you the choices of GMail, Contacts and calendar.
8. Select calendar and let it sync. Don't interrupt the process untill you get the green check mark in the box.

When I'm trying to create an even I get a message "Local calendar cannot sync with google calendar. you need a google account"

I get the same but if I go into Google Calendar and sync, I am able to save the event.
The same issue for me here..
I create an event in the phone calendar, then I go to web Google calendar to check the event, and it's not there.. Even if I try syncing manually multiple times..
It's strange behavior because sometimes events sync and shown in Google calendar immediately when created in the phone..
Is there a fix for this issue ?
I had a slightly different message and figured something out, mine was
"Google calendar cannot sync with Samsung Kies. Use My calendar to sync with Kies"
AND
"Local calendar cannot sync with Google calendar. You need a google account"
It then gives me the option to go to accounts and sync, when I do so the calendar gets stuck with the syncing.
But when I create an event it syncs to my google calendar. So I just set it to ignore and things seem to work fine.Anyone else?
I have searched and searched for this answer and I cannot find one that will work. I am new to android and this is causing me issues!!
I setup my google account and do not want my google contacts syncing. Other threads I have found say go into setting and uncheck syc contacts box and it will no longer sync. but I dont have a box to uncheck? Is there a way to just sync gmail mail and not the contacts? If there is please please please tell me how.
settings - accounts and settings - select the google account - THEN you will see checkboxes
mine does not give me that option. the only options it gives me is touch contacts to sync now. there are no boxes even visible to check or uncheck
It is in phone settings (or Settings app), not gmail settings.
Thats what I am saying, I go into settings, accounts and sync, choose my gmail account. it gives me the following options
sync books
sync contacts
sync gmail
sync calendar
below each of them it says touch to sync now. There are no boxes, i dont see where it give me the options to change the settings for any of them

settings button on bottom next to home screen- accounts and sync- uncheck auto sync.
You will see your account under manage accounts.
So then why don't you just click 'sync gmail'?
im trying to get it to stop syncing contacts. Its like its set up by default and I cannot get it to quit syncing the contacts

You have Auto-sync turned off. That's why you don't see the check boxes because you are not automatically sync anything.
Go back to account and sync screen and check the box 'Auto-sync'. Now you will see check boxes on all the items under your Gmail account.
ugh!!! your a genius!! Thank you, Im sorry for the ingorance. Coming from an Iphone, this is all very new to me.

Good searching and reading, isn't it.

Ok i've got a S2, and i've decided to use the google calendar sync service.
So i've put my appointments in the Calendar online, and though ok here goes.
open up the calendar and i'm greeted with 'Googl calendar cannot sync with Samsung Kies' well i don't have Kies so der. but then 'Local calendar cannot sync with Google calendar. You need a Google account'
ok so i've got one account, the sync for calendar is ticked, so what am i missing?
i've wiped data, and tried choosing 'My Calendar' and obviously the Gmail calendar. but no
If I create an appointment it appears on the phone and magically appears online? can't sync huh?
but it won't download my online calendar, but i can delete the entry on the phone or on the PC and it disappears on both. So what the Hell is going on?
Help please!
Hello
I'm having trouble getting the Calendar on the SGS2 to sync with the Calendar on google?
Now I can create an appointment, and it appears on google and the phone, but if I create it on Google the phone won't update.
The sync checkbox is ticked, and every time I create a new event on the Calendar i'm greeted by
"Google calendar cannot sync with Samsung Kies. Use My Calendar to sync with Kies"
followed by
"Local calendar cannot sync with Google calendar. You need a Google account"
So I have sync running, emails are pushing, and as I said items created on the Phone push to Google, but I can't get Google to push back to the phone, can anyone explain to me what i'm doing wrong
Many Thanks,
Luke.
I have the same problem. Have had the problem for a while on multiple roms and kernels

O great, so its F'd then
Maybe i'll be getting the Galaxy Nexus then.
The Calendar app can work with many calendar sources. I have it syncing it with gmail, yahoo and also the phone's internal calendar (which is also the one KIES deals with).
When you go into Calendar -> Menu -> Settings -> Calendars. You will see all the accounts that independently sync with the Calendar app. So you can have an appointment via a work's account and another appointment via your gmail account. The gmail appointment will only sync with the gmail account and the work's appointment will only sync with the work's account.
What it appears to be is that you create an appointment in gmail (on the web) and it will happily appear on the web and also on your phone soon after. Any modifications to that appointment on the phone will appear on the web.
A new appointment created on the phone is saved as a local calendar event. Go to Calendar -> Menu -> Create. You will see half-way down an option called 'Calendar' select your gmail account from this option. As long as you save the new appointment the Calendar app will use that as the default calendar.

I have had the stock calendar working but I would highly recommend Business Calendar.
Way better in every way.
Even though I created my Google account from the phone, I only see the option to sync Books, Contact and Gmail from Accounts and Sync. Even if I go into the calendar's settings it throws me back to the same selections - with no way to sync the calendar. Sure enough, none of the items on the web version of the calendar show up on the phone.
You might want to recreating your Google account. I sync calendars just fine and all I did was add my account to the phone.
That worked, deleted my account and re-added it, now the calendar shows up as an option to sync. And everything shows up on the calendar.
