Hey guys,
I just recently discovered the MIUI custom ROM for Android - and i've just fallen in love with it... Unfortunately I am new to this concept of installing custom ROM, and have a few crucial questions. The first one being - is it possible to even install this ROM on my android? I have purchased imported phone, from China (the W007 Android); For this I have done quite a bit of looking around, but unfortunately (where ever I have found a download link) for the MIUI- their all just specific versions (for specific phones). I am sooo interested in installing this onto my phone, but I cannot find a valid version for my phone... The Phone Details Follow:
Android Version: 4.0.3
Baseband Version: MAUI.11AMD.W11.50.SP.V14, 2012/04/20 17:38
Kernel Version: 3.0.13 Sat Jun 9 13:12:07
Build Number: ALPS.ICS.MP.V1.11
Model Number: e1809c_v75_jbl_253
(Please just ask me for anything that is needed)
Second question was... Will I need to Root my phone, inorder to install this custom rom? I was asking this as, I believe that the warranty for the phone becomes void, if it is Rooted?
If you guys could please help me out with this little problem - It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advanced. :fingers-crossed:

Hi you have tested MIUI Rom in your W007? It's work?
I took a screenshot of my "About Phone" page but the forum wont let me post it because I'm still a new user.
So I'll just write it ALL here:

I want to root my device. In order to do so, I've been told to select the appropriate Kernel version's file (along with odin, as recommended by many guides here), but as you can see, the Kernel version doesn't show any last three characters which are listed. (like LQ7, or LP4)
I've found a file called "Kernel_I9100BULPC_INSECURE.zip".
Should I use it because the last three characters are identical to the baseband and build number (but not kernel)?
If not, which should I use to ensure that I won't brick my phone?
Thank you, and sorry for the long question.
Just realized that I posted this in the wrong sub-forum.. Is it possible to move this thread to the Galaxy S II I9100 Q&A somehow?
Just use Siyah 4.1.5

I have looked around for a while and checked the last time I posted to a similar thread but to no avail. So, I am creating a separate thread for this tablet since it differs from it's predecessor - Impression i7.
I've looked for a way to root it but haven't found a specific usb driver that works right and I've tried a few things others explained and that hasn't worked either. All the times I've tried end up not rooting the device at all. Originally I wanted to do this to add Google Play's store but I am looking to use the rooting for space saving and app management. Here are my details again:
Model: i7a (NOT an i7)
Android: 4.0.4
Baseband: 1.4rc3
Kernel: 3.0.8
Build: crane_i7a-4.0.4-20120712-US

You have right.
#edzaskadka
When you press theses buttons ( hold home + volume down + power button) => you are on the download mode already
thank you
but when i enter that factory mode(download mode)
i get a menu where is
Full Test
Item Test
Test Report
Clear eMMC
Version
Reboot
So what should i enter if i want to update trough Odin.Or i should just stay in that Menu?
It's probably just a fake chinese clone then
Go to settings/about phone and post details please
Details from settings about phone should tell if its another fake .

If the phone is a true galaxy s3 the model number should be GT- I9300 not a number 1 as above. A quick google search for a GT-19300 bring up the words 'fake' and 'clone' ... that sucks.
definitely a clone, samsung uses a completely different version naming principle

That was my bad, i was writing really fast
it does say GT-I9300
I really don't think that it is a fake, because the camera is incredible, like it should be on a samsung galaxy s3
It looks exactly like a real thing not those clones, plus the performance, it feels like a quad core processor, because it never lags. Then there is the software it self, which is exactly like it should be.And the voice search is spot on either. And i checked the IMEA as well and it showed that it is genuine.
so does it have Smart Stay, Swipe to capture, Direct call, Smart alert and other samsung features? No? It's a fake.

Your choice but its not an I9300 so do not flash any firmware from here .
Via Google plenty more will say the same plenty identical posts on this forum as well .
the trouble is all the chinese clones are also I9300's... The difference is that most have a completely different CPU (mtk6575/77), are a heap slower and you can be assured that trying to install any S3 rom on them is doomed to failure...
. To check use antutu from the play store, you can check the specs and post back here
XDA may even have a forum for China SG3 .

try to use Samsung codes like *#1234# or *#0*#
it is a fake after all because I only got 3803 benchmark score, and I think it should be smth like 15000 points
of course it is.

Hello, I recently obtained one of those myself (Rohs P 900). I don't think the root access will be a problem, but i would like to put in a lighter OS. I plan to use it as an electricity domotics controller indoors only.
Any hints or tips or pref links to what would be a good operating system ROM to use?
Thanks in advance
