The best kernel for the stock rom is the ONLY kernel for the stock rom, i.e. the stock kernel.

I am going to try the PG86IMG THING

i had a problem reverting back to stock. The RUU said that my CID was wrong, i tried to change it with adb commands but it was stuck 0202...
The solution was to get the rom from the RUU, rename it to PG86IMG and flash it through the bootloader.
P.S: i was revolutionary s-off

You said was s off... And now did you succed to install official ics ?
What about root, s off and hboot version ?

i used to be rooted and s-off with revolutionary. When you run the official RUU you loose root, s-off etc. the phone goes completely back to stock (need to adb command fastboot oem writesecureflag 3) after the PG86IMG install in order to s-on. I did that yesterday without knowing that today i will receive the ics OTA !
Moved to Q & A as this is a question.

Hey guys,
Just have a question: I have an EVO 3D GSM here next to me. It only gives me a Bootloop, nothing else. Now I want to revert to Stock with a RUU.
Must the Bootloader be unlocked oder locked for reverting to Stock via RUU?
Version Main: 3.28.401.1
S-ON

You dont need to lock the bootloader, just flash the RUU, your device will remain s-off after reflash.
And it's not an Problem to have S-ON? Or will the Evo 3D gain S-OFF after using the RUU?
Thx in Advance

you can flash the ruu if you are s-on or s-off it doesnt matter,
the phone will not gain s-off or lock it self if is already unlocked by flashing a ruu.
Ok we ran the RUU in Fastboot USB Mode.
Now we got the Error 155.
There is standing that we need the right Rom Update Utility Programm
But the RUU is for the 3.28.401.1 Version and the Phone is 3.28.401.1 .
Can you give us a Link for the right RUU?
BTW: The Evo 3D is the GSM Version and it's unlocked.

S-ON or S-OFF dont matter when flashing an RUU
you just need to relock the bootloader

If you're s off you don't need to relock, you can run ruu through bootloader
If you're s on, you have to relock and you cannot run through bootloader.

Hello,
I have a EVO 3D shooter-u with H-BOOT 1.53.0007 and S-on with ics.
My motherboard was replaced so I Can't unlock the bootloader the HTCdev way...
The revoolutionary tool doesnt support my hboot.
What is the other way to do it?
Can I install gingerbread or something to get an older Hboot?
By the way I want to install this rom in the end:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2422629
Or can you suggest a good stable fast one with 3d support?
Try Sensai ROM 3.5.0 ,it's the best ROM with working 3d cam/rec and it's with sense 4.1

I rooted the phone and everything, and installed sensai, it crashed 3days after into a boot loop
Im running yas4 now.
The best thing you can do is to get s-off and downgrade to hboot 1.49.007 after this you can flash anything without crashes

Did Exactly dat
May be a dumb question but wad unsure in my instance ..
If you or I relock bootloader to ruu again
Will the soff and supercid remain
And if I relock to do this can I flash a T-Mobile 4.3 stock ruu on my att htc one
I am unlocked rooted soff and supercid on 4.1.2 software 1.26.502.12
I basically wanna run complete firmware and software for the T-Mobile variant on my HTC one since that's the carrier I'm using it with .
Or would doing a ruu be no different than flashing a rom from that carrier?
Any specific ideas for my question would be awesome .

I guess what I'm saying is if I ruu
A higher firmware version 4.3 over my soff supercid device that is on 4.1.2 currently, Will the hboot stay at 1.44 will soff stay ? If that simplifies the question
I read that soff stays and that u don't have to relock bootloader to ruu if you are already soff.
I just do NOT want to loose soff or update my hboot to 1.55.
Goal still is to flash the tmobile 4.3 ruu on this att One and hope to remain soff hboot 1.44

the hboot doesn't matter to an s-off phone you can safely use the t mobile ruu and update hboot ..your s-off is safe unless you turn it off.
you can get all you need here >> http://www.htc1guru.com
Plus you don't need to relock if you are s-off
