Where can I put the sound files of a boot animation in xt910 to work and what should be the name of the .ogg file?
Sent from my XT910 using xda premium
Using Root Explorer, put the file in /system/media folder (do remember to r/w it before placing the file there).
And ya, it should be named as droidhd.ogg (which will be there, back it up by renaming or overwrite it).
Hope this helps you.

Yes. All you have to do is put the stock bootanimation.zip file onto your SDCard, (internal or external), then using Root Explorer or another file management app copy and paste the stock bootanimation.zip to /system/media overwriting the file which is in there. Then change permissions for that file to RW/R/R and reboot. (You will have to set read/write access before you can paste into /system/media or change file permissions).
Sorry, I don't have the original bootanimation.zip.

I've never messed around with that rom. I'd take a look around and see if you can find a file called Bootanimation.zip.

if you have a root, download a alternative boot animation, and with root manager put this in system/media folder
In /system/media there is no bootanimation.Zip

Copy "BootSamsung.qmg" "BootSamsungloop.qmg"
to your pc. change the file extension to .zip and then open with Winrar . You will see a series of numbered images. Edit them or replace them with your image inside winrar. Save it .
Now change the extension .zip to original .qmg and transfer them on phone. set the permission .

Why my phone don't read the bootanimation files zipped by me?

Did you manually placed the zip folder in /system/media/ or tried to flash the zip folder through recovery mode ?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
I placed the original bootanimation.zip in system/media or in data/local. It works. If I unzip this file and zip them again the phone don't read this .zip.

The bootanimation has to zipped in "store" form, and not"compress" form...
If you compress, it won't work...
Typed using a small touchscreen
How can I make a zip file without compression? I've zipped automatically with winzip or with Root Explorer.

Use a tool called Boot Animation Creator !
That's much easier
Cheers
Thank you. I've resolved all. With Root Explorer must create a tar archive without compression and rename the file .tar in bootanimation.zip
With winzip must before specified "none" on compression setting
Thank you again!

Sorry, with root explorer it's not possible. Erroneously I've placed another .zip.
But with winzip it's possible. I made a custom animation with a personal movie. It works great!

I habe mwakious rom istalled right now on my gsm s-on 3D....
Is there a way i can install the devil toast cm9 boot animation on it.... ??(because its 3d )
Download the cm9 ROM you wanna pull it from, navigate through the system/media folder until you find "bootanimation.zip", put it on the root of your sd card, and then using a file explorer like ES File Explorer or Astro, replace the bootanimation.zip in your system/media folder with that one and you're good to go!

You probably already figured out what your doing, but just for clarification, I was wrong before, the path for the bootanimation.zip is under 'system\customization\resource' (or at least it was in my case)
There is a zip you can flash here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812621

Use rootbrowser and navigate to /system/media/audio/ui, look for unlock.ogg.
Rename that to unlock.ogg.orig or whatever you choose. Insert sound file of your choice in ogg format.
