Sorry to post a question, but no Q/A section for ray and it might be helpfull for other people.
I'm running Firmware 4.0.2.A.0.42 europe but during the day i have a lot of mobile network signal loss (always when the screen is off or whe the mobile is in my pocket).
I've read in the arc forum, that it could help to flash/change the Baseband.
i've also read that the firmware 4.0.2.A.0.58 upgrade the baseband.
My question is :
How can i change the Baseband (maybe the assossiated lib?)?
My phone is rooted (thanks Doomlord for your Easy Rooting Toolkit [v4.0] ) but i ve a locked bootloader.
Is it possible to change it with root explorer or something like that?

ok no offense, was just thinking it might help other people too if it was possible to change baseband without flashtool ?
Because i ve read that i'm not the only one with network problem with baseband .42 ( at least arc users).
So, little feedback if it can help somebody,
i use flashtool (thanks to bin4ry and Androxyde)
Before flashing, be sure to be in Mass storage Mode (setting = sony ericsson = connectivity = usb mode connection )
==> Flash Firmware : than i choose the baseband from that post :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358139 (thanks to dearteno for the .tft)
==> connect the device in flashmode (hold vol- and connect usb)
==> reboot
Hope it will work that way.

I am new here and I have already rooted and unlocked my phone + installed cyangenmod(Latest) boot.img + installed NightElfs kernel and then Achotjan's ROM.(Other's NOT working ...)
When I boot I see : FreeXperia Boot Screen and then the logo of Semc Debranded (I also have CMW Full from DoomLord).
Now some thing aren't working (Can't post in section dev. ::> new ! )
So I am just asking how to see your band version / firmware ?

Someone knows if I have the wrong requirements for this ROM Achotjan's SEMC Debranded CM7?
Because when I am trying to flash any other ROM then Achotjan's SEMC Debranded CM7 ROM I am stuck at the boot logo.
Do I need to flash a .ftf (Firmware ?) file for this to work correctly ?
Or have I Forgotten a step (unlock BOOT, Root, kernel, ROM ?)

Im a newbie too and I also have some questions:
1) When will we see "Smallband" and when will we see "Baseband"? My Neo shows "Baseband" but some others show "Small"
2) Im not really understand differences between KERNELs, FIRMWAREs and ROMs

Hello guys! Im a newbie here and I need some help degrading my phone to gingerbread.
I found a link at android devices (sorry,im not able to post here as im newbie) and i dont really understand those instructions and i followed as much as i installed those ADB etc but im unable to degrade and it tells me to not be in MTP mode/change from MTP mode,I dont know how to do that,Currently im on 4.0,so please help me,Thanks in advance!

Or... You can try custom ROMs, depending of how your bootloader is, locked or unlocked.

Compilation: 4.1.B.0.431

but I do not see .ftf file to my phone. Idk also what to do to check if my bootloader is locked or unlocked (guess that after official flash process it's locked - but not sure). Googled over few days and I can't find anything simple to root my device.

You even found a thread and you followed it, and you still create new thread for your question instead of asking in the thread you follow. I don't understand that.
Anw, all you need is in that thread. ftf, instructions, kernel for root process, it's all there.. just read first post.
p.s. if you updated via update service and you never unlocked your BL(by using test point), then it's locked.
p.p.s. this kind of questions should go to Q&A section.

i have a new 2nd handed xperia ray (st18a - saw on the net that it's the same as st18i) that i use as a secondary phone (galaxy i9100 is my primary phone) and i need your help with unlocking its bl .. with my i9100 it was easier to root and install custom roms but i can see that it more complicated to do so with xperia ray .. i have GB 2.3.4 4.0.2.A.0.62 installed on it and when i entered to the guide [How-To] Unlock the bootloader of 2011 xperia devices i saw on the picture of the sdk program that there's no 2.3.4 option to mark so because it's a bootloader and if i'll make a mistake i can end up with pieace of plastic .. i have decided to start this thread asking for your help ..
so please guys, help me ..

Like I said in the thread, search again there should be Android 2.3.4 option. If not please upload a screenshot and let's discuss in the bootloader unlocking thread
