I'm new here, so I don't get these replies. I'm sorry if my question is a noob question.
Thanks

The new update breaks a lot.... But if you want it check out almost all roms. Most are based off 2.3.6 and fyi the facepalm is for not searching

Thanks nyamo
I will do a search.
Appreciate the clarification.

It IS a noob question and one that could easily have been answered by first doing a search. The stickies are here for a reason, it is always a good idea to scan their titles before starting a new thread so that we don't end up with redundant threads like this one. No one is paid to be here, so we really appreciate it when you first make some effort to find an answer.

[Q] 4.1.83 Question

I just got the ability to update to to 4.1.83.
Is this the update with the real new radio that enabled HSDPA+ and etc.
I currently have GreyBlur v2.1 w/ side-loading & tethering & the baseband 1.87 for the "fake enabled better 3G speeds" thing.
Can this new update be rooted, tethered, side-load, etc. Or is it like an entirely new firmware? Is it worth it to get this new update?
I am confused and cannot find a good source, sorry.... Thanks!

I'd do a SEARCH, to find out if all 39 posts were like this, but maybe I'll make a new thread?
I would just appreciate an answer then I will delete this, I am aware it is common but after search am still confused. Sorry for my incompetence on a issue I am completely new to.

Seriously... no kidding. This is litterally everywhere and all you gotta do is do a bit of reading ahead. Plus this is in the wrong section too.

Why doesn't everyone let admins do their thing and quit being so dramatic about rule breaking?

Because that is no fun.
To the OP:
1) yes
2) you can't delete posts, so SEARCH for a answer first, then GO TO the QUESTION and ANSWER (Q&A) board and ask if you can not find the answer.
3) Don't forget to look at the rules they are stickied on top of the forums.

Check the android development area for Ace..

Ok bro, maybe they didn't mean to hurt your feelings... But c'mon, don't you think that doing some research in google will provide you with a faster answer than waiting for some replies within the forum???
I've looked on Google, forums are here to discuss things and help eachother, so i don't understand why people take a hissy fit when people ask for a little bit of help and advice, thank you for the apology medic.

going on your way of thought everyone will be posting questions for links to things 3 clicks away. Really, try google.
Easy keywords will be "cyanogenmod <insert phone model> rom xda-developers". No doubt it will be the top hit.
Ok thanx for you're help

Ok cool bro, np.
Currently there are NO official CM ROMs for our Galaxy ACE. Anyways there are a couple unofficial that you can give a try Here and Here... One of them is not being supported anymore since its creator sold his phone.
Good luck bro... and NO ACE is not the codename for our phone in cyanogenmod.com ... It is COOPER

Aosp theme for stock firmware.

Hi is there a full aosp theme for the latest stock rom. Or even better is there a rom with a full aosp theme

your other thread and answer wasnt enough? you had to create another thread asking the same thing??? And you're getting snippy with other people about reading the question???? Well.. maybe you should read the XDA rules again and learn how to post. You had one thread already for this...There was no need to create another..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1808995
It works just fine on LG8 with a small modification just like I said in your other thread...

Pure android on the S3

Hey all.
I know this is a bit of a stupid question i guess, but i am not very knowledgable with roots/stocks or any other term you use. But ill ask anyway,
I am considering messing around with my S3, i am thinking about seeing if i can install a clean as google intended Jelly bean OS. Is this possible? What is the best and simplest way, and what is the risk percentage? What are the cons to such a move? And lastly is it easy to revert back to normal if i dont like it or send phone back to network for fixing at any point?
I know its quite a lot to ask. But i appreciate any help i can get.
Regards,
Barry.

Go to the Q&A forum and read the "Must do info guide for beginners."
Barry, try CM10 or AOKP.
Better ask in Q&A next time.

I would recommend that you check out either of the roms below. I reckon that these will currently give you the closest stock android jellybean that you are after. Just get your s3 rooted and add clockwork mod recovery then wipe and flash the rom zips and gapps.

The point of their posts was to point out your mistake.
It really doesn't take much leg work on your part to answer your own question without creating this thread....
Good luck modding your s 3.
With so many different options and considering this is my first venture into messing with my s3 i thought id ask to be sure.
Thanks for making feel so welcome and empowering me and giving me confidence to ask questions when i am unsure about things. *sarcasm*

The issue was that you asked a question in the Development forum and not the Q&A forum. We run a tight ship around here. Moved your thread to correct forum.
As others have said, CM 10 is your best bet.

How long have you been reading the forum? If you have been here for any length of time you will see the same questions being asked time and time again by people that don't put any effort into finding out how to solve it themselves.
Feel free to ask questions about things, but do your research first, your question showed that you didn't do this, hence the response you got.
Putting it in the wrong forum didn't help either.

[Q] ME7 TWRP fix

I am new to this, so hopefully i haven't started a thread that's already been answered.
Question:
I have update to AME7, my phone is rooted but when i try to use GooManager to install custom recovery TWRP it say's that it installed but when i reboot i get nothing. Is there something that I am doing wrong?
AME7 doesn't have custom recovery.

Thanks for the fast reply!
This has been asked so many times just today. Please learn to do a search.

Don't take it personally. The question is literally asked about me7/recovery/ROMs at least 10 times per day.

It gets rather tiresome and frustrating to see the same thing asked over and over and over again on a daily basis when the answer is featured prominently in the forum, so don't take it personally. That being said, you would have easily found your answer had you looked at just the first page of this device's general forum. This dead horse has been beaten so much that the mods made a sticky there in order to keep people from asking the same question repeatedly. Additionally, you would have seen that there is a bounty of several thousand dollars waiting for anyone that can get a custom recovery on ME7.
