[Q] [SK17i][Mini PRO] Go back to .58? - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I upgraded my Mini Pro to the latest .62 firmware via SEUS. But I'm getting a terrible WiFi errors- sudden drops, extremly slow speeds...
Is there any way to flash .58?
I don't want to unlock the bootlader yet for warranty reasons.

Version .62 works great for me, try doing a factory reset. Anyways if you want to go back you can flash your device with a .58 firmware or use Wotanserver.

well, you can use flashtool to downgrade .58
it's work for me..

Thanks, I went to .58 with Wotanserver Generic Trade Central Europe 1, it even included Macedonian language and keyboard, witch my phone didn't originally have (I don't know why but I think it was UK version before I flashed).
But I still had problems with the WiFi, but turns out that it was my damn router the whole time -.-'...
Well, at least .58 is rootable without unlocking bootloader

On my device the update to .62 gave me terrible mobile data connection, it's like inactive for half the time then starts then stops. In the worst case i'll have to wait for the ics update.

that didn't occur on me, the data connection is stable dan wifi too.
even its choose wifi as primary and data as secondary internet connection.
try activate the data widget to check whether your data always on or not or check your battery saver apps.
as far i know that kind power saver apps did some timer tweak into wifi & data connection

OK I don't want to open new threads so I'll ask here.
After a while I still have big problems with the WiFi connection, even on .58.
It's slow - my connection is ~15 Mbps and i barely get 1 Mbps on my phone with speedtest. It also drops very frequently, the WiFi icon just dissapears, the connection drops and after around 10 seconds it reconnects.
I don't think any of these is related to my router, since the WiFi connection on my laptops works fine.
Any ideas what might be wrong?

I think you should upgrade to the latest software. Now that you know that it was a problem with your router initially then try with the latest.

it won't brick your phone unless u make some mistake during the flashing process.
if you are doing it for the first time, then its better to use wotanserver, its easy, simple & thoroughly described process. just make sure you have a good internet connection, frequent disconnection may hamper the process.
@krstep before making any changes in the s/w, try to do a factory reset.

XPERIA X10 Wi-Fi Problem!

I have a very apparent problem on my phone similar to the Iphone 4 problem but only with Wi-Fi. It's very minor compared to Iphone 4's recent problem (which was fix not too long ago..). While holding the phone in landscape mode and having your left (or right) hand on top the phone reduces the frequency of Wi-Fi and utterly disconnects. I have this problem in my room because my router is 3 floors down, it isn't the greatest reception but it works. So in summary when Wi-Fi is 1-2 bars, holding you hand atop the phone disconnects or lowers your Wi-Fi reception. This is a piss off... Either someone can fix this, or we need to complain to Sony ****ersson about this problem.
or move your router one floor up...
No, thats not something im going to do, the iPhone got a fix, why cant we?
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
@zephyrix i agree with you or better buy wifi antenna booster..... solve the problem...
That's not a problem, its simply because you are far away from the router, when it happens to you when you are at closed range, come and talk about it.
and cleary you don't know the real issue the iphone had...

+1 mezo9090.. it's a mobile phone.. the receiver won't be as strong as a PC Wifi receiver.. you could get an booster, or a better router..

I Think I have a WiFi problem as mine fails to turn on constantly. It will only start after I freshly boot it, then it turns off after about 15 minutes and is unable to start again until I power off, and back on.
If I go to the settings menu, wireless controls and tap to turn on WiFi it shows "Turning on..." for roughly 15-20 seconds then says "Unable to start WiFi"
This happened before and after I rooted with R2BA023 Firmware.
Anyone else encounter anything similar?

Hi Reeonimus - I just finished rooting my x10a from Rogers and I can't connect to my wifi at work, it was working before, so now I have to figure this one out.
I will see if I have the same problem at home tonight, will keep you posted
If you were having problems before, maybe your wifi in the phone is the problem
did you connect to wifi when you first received it? before doing anything to it
There is wifi patch for people who rooted the phone. Go back to the same rooting thread and look at the 4th post.

well I tried it last night and it connected perfectly at home.
I'm going to have to figure this one out
home is using WEP-Personal and so is my office.
but at the office it gives me a "Obtaining address" but just stops there.
I have full signal strength, but unsuccessful
It was connecting before the root
Patch file : I just installed it and it didn't fix anything, if anything it actually made it worse I think
What does that WiFi patch do?
And has anyone gotten WPA2 enterprise, or PEAP working? I'll need that for uni...
I came across this: http://pboos.ch/wordpress/2009/04/android-using-wpa2-enterprise/

I barely used the phone before I rooted so I don't know if the problem was there before. The bluetooth also had problems turning on.
However I reset the phone to factory settings and returned it for a new one. Then I realized that resetting it only reset the apps and everything, it was still on the R2BA023 firmware. They took it back and gave me a new one because they didn't notice though.
Rooted the new one and have had no problems since.

Hi guys, I'm an AT&T user on 1.6. I am looking for the wi-fi patch, as my wi-fi drops off with my cellular reception. Will this patch fix this problem? If you can point me to the rght direction, I would appreciate it. Trying to search but it appears search is down for the moment. Thanks
Screw it. I'm ready to jump to 2.1, since AT&T doesn't look like they are going to be rolling this out. Does 2.1 still have this wi-fi issue?
coughee, they have a stock 2.1 out now, just use the search to root it. have you checked for seus updates?? lately?

samsung galaxy s3 signal problem

hey everybody i have a problem and its pising me off , well the problem is this when i 1st got my phone i went into mobile network settings> network mode then selected gsm now i keep going from 2 bars to 0 bars is anybody else having this same problem ? im sim unlocked on vodafone uk HELP PLZ
Hi,
I am with o2 and I'm having the same problem. It generally has around 0-2 bars of signal. At the minute I have switched back to auto mode to see if this helps improve things...
Flash different modem with Odin.
Official firmware found here:
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9300
Or
http://samfirmware.com/
More here plus guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671969
You can just extract the modem and flash as individual package with Odin.
Hope this helps
Which one should I flash?
It's trial and error.
Different regions, carriers, location, band, etc all make a difference.
Also, different modems may affect (better or worse) 3g HSPA etc signal stability, strength, speed etc.

Same here. Hoping it's not hardware as I find covering the left side of my device blocks signal!

Radio and modem are same. Samsung generally use "modem"

I've got a similar problem it's just with my wifi, it turn of and off,my first thought was of cause
That its the modem and change that would fix it, but after 20 hours(got my phone yesterday)its getting better, but the phone still turns wifi of when is want to dl. large files or in-app dl., like additional files in zombie killer or opgrade an app from within the app.
anyone else have this issue or a solution.
i have resisted to root my phone yet, if i had to return the phone.
Thanks very much for the advice.
Are Samsung likely to release a firmware update to sort out issues like this? I don't really want to start having to flash a brand new phone to try and get it to work as it should out of the box...
Also zodiaxe66; I am having that problem too. The wifi just disconnects and immediately reconnects randomly while I'm using the phones browser...

When is got it yesterday my browsing was awful, but it now it works, large files is where my problem starts, the second i hit dl. the wifi disconnect and yesterday in had a hard time connecting again, but that problem solved itself, now it connect immediately after disconnect.
Still think its a modem problem, but i don't want to flash anything before I'm sure its not a hardware problem(and yeah i know how to flash and reset counter)
Ps.
it just disconnected again and it said "network disconnected - bad connection"
When i try to "ping" i get a false message
If it is a firmware problem and I have to flash, then so be it. Just a bit annoyed that I have a brand new phone that is having problems because the manufacturer didn't load the correct firmware in the first place.
Anyways, I am with O2 in the UK so looking at that Official firmware list
would it make sense to flash this one? -
GT-I9300 O2U I9300XXALE8 Android 4.0.4 01.06.2012 12-05-2012 554452
Thanks very much guys
@muldersleigh
Could u give me a heads up if it fixes the wifi prob. to flash a new modem or firmware..
i would appreciate that
No probs. If I decide to go ahead and flash I will let you know how it goes.
But I just checked and the firmware I posted there that I was thinking of flashing is the one that's already installed on my phone, so not sure which one to go for and if it is trial and error, that means flashing one and working with it for a day and so on until finding one that works well.
That's a lot of effort for a brand new device! I will keep you posted on any developments though. Please do the same for me.
Many thanks
I have the same issues with signal and wifi.
I get weak signal and very weak wifi with dropouts. My 3g even keeps disconnecting.
I'm not sure if it's a hardware probelm or not. If it was software then more people would have a problem.
I'm still not sure whether to get phone exchanged or not.
I'm going to keep an eye on it for another few days and note down any factors that seem to increase the problem etc.
The other thing I should mention is that from time to time during calls it seems to drop out and people have told me it sounds like I'm under water...
This may be related to the signal issues but has anyone else experienced similar voice issues?
I don't know about signal strength,as i don't have a micro-sim.my carrier didn't send it when i ordered it so had to reorder a new sim yesterday.I'll get it Monday. But u don't have to flash a full firmware, just the modem with Odin. I think XXLEF is the latest, if not go to samfirmware.com and check. I won't flash anything till i get my sim on Monday.
but if u need guidance on how to flash, just ask.

As a general rule for Samsung devices, at least for SGS2, most likely same here too.
Modem (Radio) > cellular ie. 2G 3G etc
Kernel > WiFi
Edit: To those that need to flash modem or kernel, The individual packages are for download and link to flashing guide in a previous post. Not necessary to flash full firmware. Easy to flash via Odin.....

Possibly if by some chance it get screwed up., but it's official and no real evidence left behind if you need too return it for warranty . Just flash back the o2 firmware. Done. If you have root, this will unroot too .

[Q] Wifi keeps dropping!!!

Hiya all,
I recently (yesterday) updated my S3 to Jelly Bean via Kies. I'm in UK so we kinda got it late.
Since then however, the Wifi is being a right *****. It keeps dropping and then few seconds go by, reconnects, then a minute goes, then repeats the cycle of hell! I've made sure the power saving mode for Wifi is off by dialling #*0011*.
WTF do I do?
Thanks.
Backup data and factory reset .
jje
Factory reset does not help here. I wipe as a matter of updating the OS (old Windows tech habits) and in-fact it has gotten worse recently. I'd not noticed any problem in the first week but now I see it reconnecting frequently while in use. Often pick it up from the desk to see it wasting my cell data.
It seems to be a known issue, that helps, but not a lot of info so I'll bump this with a reply. Anyone know any more yet? Totally stock system here.

This is a carrier issue that you are experiencing. It can be corrected relatively easy.
If you do not have root access, then root with CF-Root and perform the said modifications and then Un-Root your phone. Simple

[Q] WiFi turns OFF by itself and then gets stuck at turning ON

My FW version is .28(lollipop).The bootloader is locked and the phone is not rooted. My Wifi works okay when connected but every 5-6 seconds it seems to drop the connection and says searching for wifi networks. Also sometimes the toggle bar seems to be stuck at either ON or OFF postition. Ive tried repairing it from PC companion but the problem still persists. Could this be a hardware issue?? Or it has something to do with my router.
My other two phones(Moto G and OnePlus One) seem to be working fine on the same wifi network.
Tried the Wifi Fixer app but it says:-
Supplicant State: Disconnected
Supplicant State:Interface_disabled
which causes the network to disconnect.
Any help would be appreciated
Reflash your firmware using flashtool (this will reset your device)
If it continues to do it, it may be an app you use, your wifi type, or your device hardware being faulty
For now we can rule out your device firmware by reflashing a Sony signed FTF

Thanks for your reply. Does flashtool work with locked bootloaders ( I don't know). And where can I find the stock Sony signed ftf for lollipop(If you could give me a link). Thanks for your time and helping me out!
EDIT: I notice that my wifi is working okay now( or atleast stays on for 10-15 minutes) which makes me suspect that something is wrong with the hardware. I will try flashing the ftf when possible
Also apps I have are ruled out (I only have Chrome and Clash of Clans) on my phone and all the Sony bloatware. LOL

Unnaceptable Wi-Fi signal.

Hi, I want to ask if some of you have Wi-Fi problems with this "smartphone", specially:
-Low Wi-Fi signal. (Very very very very very^128 low range)
-When coneccted to any network (If the miracle happens) the Wi-Fi speed is very very very very very low (That if I get KB).
-When connected to any network (If the miracle happens) the phone doesn't even recieve a Byte.
In my home I have an internet connection of 6 Mbps (600-700 KBPS) and my Nexus 5 (Thank God I have a smartphone which can actually connect to Wi-Fi) takes all those 6 Mbps without any single problem, but then I take my Z2 and connected to the same network in the same place as my Nexus 5 was, can't fu***** even get one fu***** Byte! I turn off and turn on the Wi-Fi a thousand of times, I restart the phone a thousand of times and is the same sh**.
I'm really mad because of this, I mean I fu***** paid almost 500 bucks for a phone (Z2 could even be considered as a phone?) that can't even load Google.com?
For example: I connect to my Wi-Fi, I go to Google.com and the "phone" loads the page, then I try to see some video in YouTube and whoa! It doesn't load any of them. Unless I'm right next to the modem this "phone" can surf in the internet.
This happened me since the first days, modem is at max 20 meters away from me, there's only ONE wall between the modem and me, nobody is stealing my Wi-Fi, and as I've said before my Nexus 5 connects to Wi-Fi without problems.
Anyone is having or had any problem lime this?
Did you fix it? How?
Right now I'm using eXiztenz ROM (Android 5.1.1) with rootroot, no Xposed or amy mods.
I don't use stamina or any "battery saving" mode.
This also happened me on all previous Android versions and even with custom ROMS. I have my bootloader unlocked.
I've already tried factory reset.
Any help is really appreciated.
PD: Sorry for my bad English.

Any help is really appreciated.
PD: Sorry for my bad English.

That´s really frustrating, but as i see you did all possible steps (newest ROM, no Xposed).
I think your Z2 get a modem problem. Go to the phone store and ask for a refund.
But before set your phone back to delivery state (relock bootloader, restore TA-partition)

I've asked to other people I know they have a Z2 and they have the same problem, I think is most a factory production problem. Very bad.
