Simulate touch events - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know of a method for simulating or injecting touch events? Monkeyrunner can do them but that doesn't quite seem like what I need. My goal is to make an app that lets the user map physical key presses to touch screen positions to provide physical key support to apps/games that lack it.
Ideally I'm looking for a non-rooted method but a method that requires root is acceptible if nothing else exists.
The first step would be to find a way to inject touch events into the system in an app-independent way.
Thanks!

Isn't this the forum for App Development questions?
Q&A seems like its for users looking for help with devices or roms, not App creation.

[Q] Read email colors

Is it possible to change the colors of emails that you have already read from dark gray to something else? I find it hard to read them in bright sunlight, but maybe that's just me.
Please direct this question to the proper forum. You will get answers faster that way and it keeps this forum clean.
How is this not the right forum? Wouldn't changing the color be a function of a theme?
I agree it belongs right here ..... cuz u want to theme it

I think 'themes' is for the announcing of themes and questions related to specific themes. Like development except for themes and apps.
XDA is a little different than most public forums. At heart its a forum for phone developers so some sub forums are left for the Devs and their topics.
I'm guessing Q&A is being suggested.

technically if you go by forum rules, ALL QUESTIONS go in Q&A

Mirror Display / HUD creation

Always wanted to ask / spread the idea of a simple tool which mirrors the display output so that you can use any app as a hud in car windshield.
Is smth like this easily manageable?
As we say: Would go away like cutted bread.

There are quite a few like this.

yes but I think he meant (as I have also thought about) mirroring every app automatically so that it can be used as a HUD, eg: Mirror view of Google maps / Navigation

A good suggestion : Since month I'm trying to understand how to mirror-display a simple text, and can't find anything in the API!
Finally did it!!
I know its late, but after reading all these forums, i was convinced that there are no existing mods, or any other ready made solution available.
So thought of doing it myself. Changed the source and built a custom ROM on top of lineageOS. Added a new option (HUD Mode )
Here is a working video of my HUD display. cheers.

I just use the web based app site. Doing this allows me to "push" the apps to my phone. Started because its easier to copy and paste in the search when someone mentions an awesome app on here and also because it's a little more covert to do it this way at work without always being seen with my phone in my hand. I tend to find apps alot faster this way as I've run into what your speaking of with other apps and it tells me which of my devices a particular app is compatable with (2 nook colors, Revue box, off brand tab, and of course my note).

[Q] SIP Removed

I'm coming from the Galaxy Nexus where I enjoyed the native SIP application and the ability to make calls over WiFi, but now it seems that the carrier death grip on Samsung has forced them to remove the native feature from the phone. I found this thread on how to restore SIP functionality on the SGS2, but it's for 2.3.3+:
I'm guessing it doesn't work on 4.x Android, so I'm curious if anyone is familiar with a method to restore this stock android feature? I did find a "sip switch" app which lets you access the hidden SIP options, but unfortunately, upon making a call it says "Internet calls not supported".
To clarify, I'm not looking for applications which provide this, I do want to use the native android implementation.
Thanks!
I noticed this as well. I don't have an answer to your question, but I'd be interested in a solution too.

We might be out of luck until a ROM comes along with stock Android, if someone is kind enough to port it over.
