Good luck. With the QC issues with this tablet you are brave ordering it online. I bought mine a best buy about 2 hours ago and it wouldn't even turn on. I swapped it out on site.

** Hope you read in the forum about how you have to charge it first before it will actually turn on, if you received it DOA. My 2nd Prime was dead when I received it. I charged it for 2 hours then it finally turned on.**
No choice. I live in Eugene, Oregon. There is no prime in sight. Closes one is in Salem. Then Portland. I'm not that desperate. This will be my 3rd Prime though. Hopefully this will be the last. The first one I got from GS. It had little bleeding but that was about it (Kind of wished I had kept it). Second Prime had more issues with dead pixels, more light bleed and your on going wifi/BT issues. I really hope I'm done with it this time around. Please let this be the money shot!!!

I guess when you get this powerful of hardware for this price, you have to deal with some qc issues.

Waiting is all fine and well. But man I do not like the waiting game. Especially when there is something like this out now! Prime will be just fine for me. It does more then what I will use it for. It may have it's issues (just like any tablet you will come across in its infancy), but it's all being worked on and Asus is a great company.
You can wait but be prepared for issues as well when you do get that future tablet. While I will be enjoying my Prime time.
I ordered my prime from office depot on the 19th. They were the only retailer who had it in stock, online or otherwise. At the time they were offering free 3 day shipping and during the checkout said I would have it by the 23rd. Once it was finally shipped on the 21st, UPS said I would not have delivery until the 26th. Which was Ok but not really acceptable. By the 25th there had been no movement with UPS tracking for 4 days. I called UPS and asked them if this was normal and they said no, that the package is scanned at least every 24 hours. They told me to call Office Depot and they would need to initiate a trace on the package.
I called office depot and they said they would escalate my concern and I would hear something by the end of the day. In the mean time I got a notice from nowinstock.net that BestBuy had them in stock and I checked their website and my local store even had them on hand. While doing this I received an email from Office Depot regarding my package that was essentially lost:

Sorry you had issues with the whole delivery thing. That really sucks.
My experience so far with OD is a positive one. I've already ordered from them online with my 2nd Prime and arrived as schedualed. This latest one is arriving today....

I think it helps you that you are so close to the warehouse they were shipping from. But in the end, I got what I wanted. Just wish it would not have been such a big ordeal.
Yay just received mine No bright spots like the previous. So far no issues. Updating now. Didn't get the C1 serial # though. Still BC.
I got mine too, its perfect.
Wifi works great (On par with with my galaxy nexus)

Keep in mind Office Depot's notoriously bad return policy, especially with the poor qc from Asus on this product.

I received one from officedepot.com on Dec. 22 and returned it in early Jan due to the wifi,GPS, random reboot problems. If Asus ever gets it together I may try another.
Yesterday I saw two in stock at the local OD store, even though they didn't show online. I couldn't bring myself to try it again yet!

Ordered mine from Office Depot on Friday. Still shows processing under the order status. Despite checking daily, it seems the only brick and mortar store in all of MN that carry's the TFP is Microcenter (despite there being tons of BB's and BB having their massive headquarters here). Last time MicroCenter had them in stock they sold out in less than a half hour, so online is my only option. I hope I'm not making a huge mistake buying this as a Valentine's present for my GF and I, especially buying online.
It looks like Office Depot has a 14 day return policy. Hopefully that gives me enough time to determine if my unit needs to be swapped out. Considering I placed my order on the 3rd, that leaves only 11 days at this point (provided their return period begins when you place the order.) With shipping, I'll be lucky to have a week to determine if it's good to go. I got to play with a friends TFP, absolutely loved it, but damn does this purchase have me on edge. Especially with my horrible Asus history...
Here's to hoping my experience goes as smoothly as some of yours.

i just found out today that the place a "hold" on your debit card every 8 days, despite what the email says about not being charged until the item shipped.
I ordered on 11/25 and was charged $531 twice since then. Caused a bunch of stuff to bounce and caused me to be charged over 200 bucks in overdraft fees. If I'd have known this was going to happen, I could've moved some money around to cover. My fault for not checking, I guess, but I was some pissed.
When I called the other day (the 2nd time I was charged), she said it was because it was in the warehouse and shipping was imminent. When that charge was removed (like the first one; this is when I found out they do it every 8 days) I called back. Today, the supervisor I spoke with said I should just cancel my order, as the SKU is no longer in the system and orders will be canceled. I told her not to touch it, as I wasn't trusting anything anyone was telling me.
I'm pretty pissed about the whole thing, but can't cancel b/c this is what the old lady wants for Xmas. We'll see, I guess.

Bought mine on the 26th and I have the same "In Progress" and 12-18-2011 date.
Ordered on 11/3 and still shows 12/18 in process.
My temp charge was removed today and BB CSR told me they have no information on availability, other than the stated 12/18/11 release date.
Mine says same ...
Order date 12/4, Release 12/18 (that's different from ship date), champagne tablet only.
try searching the sku for the champagne one on BB website. It's gone. silver one is there still (i think).

Ordered 32g Grey on 11/28 and still showing "In-Process" with a release date of 12/18.
When I called Best Buy a couple of days ago, they said that I should expect mine to be shipped so that I have it by 12/18 (not sure how they would do that since 12/18 is a Sunday). Here's hoping that I have it on 12/16 or 12/19 at worst. I also paid for next day shipping.

Best Buy is making me crazy (and poor)
I got beat at Amazon with a Prime IN MY CART on the 23rd. I let it sit for an hour, knowing my debit card might take the full hit if I hit "Purchase" When I finally hit the button, it was too late. Went from "Pre-order" to "We will email you" Best thing ever happened to me. 1st: My Prime was a 32 gb Amethyst Grey: same model that was on all those cancellations. Who know if I would have got hit. AND: I complained in a series of escalating emails, and got: $100 credit toward anything Amazon sells and ships instead of the $20-30 most folks got. HA!
Went to BestBuy, next biggest retailer, right after the pre-order link went back up (was down on December 1st for half a day- said "Not Available" Pulled the trigger Dec 2nd - Tablet only (figured I'd get Dock at Amazon when stock came back, using my credit. When BB debited my account in 15 seconds (I had my bank account open in another tab) I panicked and canceled the order. Then freaked again, when I realized the pre-orders were limited (and they were) so I called "The credit will show up in 24-48 hours" I was told, so I placed a SECOND Order. Guess what: Both debits are still on my account. My bank said 3 days from when credit is issued. Well, BB must be holding back - it's 7 days now, and I am out $1130 - no credit for the canceled order (though it shows that way on BB site.
As for my valid order: same as everyone:
"In Process"
"Order Status: 1 item(s) preordered, release date is 12/18/11"
I have called: 3 times, and gotten 3 different answers: We are getting them on the 18th, should ship out soon after that"
"We are getting them on the 19th"
"We are getting them on the 16th, and should start shipping same day.
All supposedly read right off the BB system....
Oh, and if they tell you your order is "Verified"? That means the MONEY is verified, and BB knows they have you money, all set, no problemo, we are getting PAID, by you, so we are all set! oh... you want to know about YOU? Shipping? Stock? Release? Policies? (We have policies galore, in fact, we come up with new variations all day long!)
I just want the damn thing, and if they ship on 18th or within a day or two, cool.. (19th is a Sunday folks, so even if they package on 19th, nothing is going out that day) Oh... and Mr. BestBuy sir... where is my $#@& CREDIT!!!!?????

Amazon pre order fail, expansys pre order fail, missed the Office Depot by a minute, Best Buy pre order fail it looked hopeless to get one before Christmas and I needed one for Dad too.
So there is 16 Gamestops that sell tablets within 120 miles of me here in Baltimore and after 100 phone calls later and calling them all week in which they all told me to try back Friday the 23rd because that's when they are getting their shipments I decided to start calling again yesterday at 12pm every single store only had 1 available to sell to non pre orders (If that) and it started to seem like a hopeless cause so I expanded my searche a few more miles out...........I happen to talk to a nice Gentleman at Cherry Hill mall in NJ that said he literally just opened their shipment and only had 1 available to sell so I asked him nicely if he would be willing to hold it I will leave and be driving up from Baltimore right now and can get there in about 2 hours he started laughing and said "Normally we dont hold anything but if your willing to drive from that far I will do it for you"

Later that evening I was calling a store in California MD throughout the day and the guy knew he had his shipment but was saying he was too busy to open the box to see how many they had and if they had any to sell throughout the day well I finally talked to him around 8pm last night and he said they only have 1 available to sell I asked him if he would be willing to hold it for me if I head out now and will be coming from Baltimore 2 hours away and for the same reasons as the other guy he hesitated and said he would!!! After driving through a storm for 2+ hours and just making it there 5 minutes before the store closed at 11 pm.

I woke up yesterday hopeless that i wasn't getting one, missed the pre orders. What sucks the most is my whole family got tabs this year and i was going to have to wait until who knows when to get mine..
I looked on xda and seen a thread about abt electronics having them and then the update saying they were gone.. I called them and the salesman offered me the two day old display for (32 champagne) for 449.99 It was about a two hour drive for me so i took next day air shipping and its on the truck for delivery today. The best part i paid 507.55 after taxes and overnight shipping, and the joy of actually getting my tablet in just the nik of time!!

i would never get a display model. Well if its good for you then thats great.

Curious if anyone else was able to get one from a Gamestop without a pre order I feel like lightning striked twice in the same place yesterday!
Well after many calls and calls.they told me at a gs an hour away from me that they were taking preorders for the second wave to be released on Jan 6 so I put and other on 12/20 but keep calling around and all gs including the one I preordered said they were only getting the ones from first wave.so I gave up.but like at 4pm I had a call from gs to pick up my tablet,went yesterday at 7pm and now have my prime

Nice am I the only one able to get gamestop employees to tell me the truth about having 1 to sell over the phone and then hold it for me? Two times is pretty unreal but I have been calling 18 stores all week every day at noon

YEP, same here... Gamestop OceanSide, CA. Called and asked, they said they didnt have any extra. I offered to pay an additional $100 and they said they would hold one for me.
I was in the store 30 minutes later and they wouldnt take the extra $100. The manager was who I had spoke to and he said that he just felt like doing something nice.

I agree but at the time of purchase, Fry's was selling it at $499 and Amazon for $650!!! for almost $700 (tax included), I got both they keyboard and the Prime where Amazon would have been $800 more.
Plus, no wait.

I went into shock when I saw that too
You just have to wait for amazon to offer it as a official seller (how I got mine).
But I get next day shipping for 3.99 with my free 6 months of amazon prime.

Actually, Amazon has never sold the Prime for anything more than its retail price ($499 for 32GB, $599 for 64GB). Those inflated prices are by people just using Amazon as a storefront. Worse than the inflated price, maybe, is that you don't likely get the same return policy as with Amazon. Basically, buying from those people is pretty much exactly like buying off of eBay.

I got the last one Fry's has on any of their stores in So. Cal. a couple of week ago. I drove from O.C. (Santa Ana) to Oxnard in Ventura county to get it but luckily I had work to do there so my company (I drive a company car) paid for the gas to go there and get it. My gps doesn't work but I was aware of the problem when I purchased it, that is why I still use a Garmin Nuvi 660 for my gps navigation.

While a phones GPS is good in a pinch, i love my nuvi too

I ordered mine from Gamestop online. It's Going to be here Tomorrow (2/20). I ordered it Wednesday (2/15). It would of been here Friday (2/17) Originally, paid $24 to overnight it. Since I never purchased on Gamestop.com with that expensive of a order & different shipping address from Billing address, the system put it on hold till I called from my Billing phone number (Never received email they said they sent). That was Thursday (2/16). Next day called up, to find out cause still never got my shipping notification email. something happened where kicked that error up again, this time the rep said to ship it's verified. Later that day Friday (2/17) i received the email saying there was a issue to call this phone number. This point I am getting way beyond pissed, so called yet again, lady said no it's all set that she just sent emails out. It will be here Tuesday. So I said that's it, I'm NEVER shopping at Gamestop again. I buy all my games and accessories for all my consoles there. I have PSP, PS3, WII, XBOX 360. Plus I purchase their powerup subscription. She was very apologetic for all my issues, explained why everything happened. Then she have me the overnight shipping for free.
On Wednesday before I ordered I wanted to make sure they had it available,.only one they had was the grey 32GB Bundle. It comes with a Bluetooth controller (Looks like a aftermarket PS3 controller). He said that there was a few hundred left of that, but are going fast.

not so great for canadians but for US its awesome. For me i just bookmarked the Bestbuy, futureshop, visions, and memoryexpress websites to check every day if they had them in stock and i got lucky. Easy as that!

Thanks man. Oddly it is saying my local Game Stop at the mall has stock "been checking for days" lol & swore i checked today. But sure enough it says tonight after they are closed they have some. Gonna call first thing in the am. If they don't i'll order one. I hate waiting, even for 1 day .

Today I requested a return from Amazon UK. I am on my second Prime.
The first one had terrible light bleed, low Wifi, non existent GPS and to top it off the HDMI stopped working.
I received the replacement a few days ago but the screen started flickering and rolling after two days of use.
I chose to replace it, as it was in stock at the time. Several hours passed and I had not received email confirmation of a replacement order. I decided to give Amazon customer service a call.
They told me that they would only be able to provide a refund as they have decided that from today they will no longer stock the Prime until ASUS can assure them that the build quality has been improved, as they have had too many returned with faults.
Needless to say I am very disappointed right now. I'm now thinking that I'll wait a month or so before thinking about buying another one.

They told me they would fill orders made today but that would be it.
ASUS #1 Customer Service
1) Bought TFP.
2) Non existing GPS, super weak wifi (barely connected to router upstairs that even my 3 year old phone could connect to)
3) Called ASUS, guy said that the Prime actually has AGPS but not the GPS they advertised. So I complained and they offered me a refund.
4) I sent Prime in with expresspost and my own money hoping I could get my refund ASAP.
5) 3 days after Prime delivered, my RMA number still doesn't work. So I called them and they told me that they will escalate the issue and the RMA number will work within 1 week.
6) 1 week later. Surprise! Still doesnt work. Called them again. Guy gave me a new RMA number (which never worked). Told me that they are gonna repair my Prime and send it back. *Facepalm*. They told me that GPS can actually be fixed, I told them that that is stupid and I was promised a refund and that I already bought something. So then the guy said they will refund it.
7) Told me to wait for a email telling me to send in my invoice.
8) 2 weeks later. Guess what? No invoice BUT!! Surprise! They emailed me telling me that my Prime is being shipped back to me.
9) YAY! More dealing with ASUS.
So basically, now I wasted $50 shipping my Prime to RMA, $30 on a screen protector, $40 on a case, hours of calling ASUS and I still have not gotten my refund. It has been almost 2 months.
If anyone from ASUS reads this can you just give me my money?
UPDATE:
10) Called ASUS and asked why the hell they're shipping the tablet back to me. Told me I will get contacted within 48 Hours.
11) Get email two days later saying that they will buyback my Prime. Told me to email them my invoice and address to mail cheque. Finally I though.
12) Then later I get an email telling me to send my Prime in. WTF? It has been there since March 14.
13) Call ASUS again and ask WTF again. Say it is file and they will escalate the issue.
14) RMA numbers still don't work so I have no way of finding out what the status is.
15) Email ASUS and ask them why they sent me an email telling me to send my Prime in and that my Prime is already in their RMA center.
16) Get an email back from the same guy saying that they attached the shipping label for me to send my stuff back. =.=
Seriously ASUS. Do you feel any shame about your customer service? I can attach all the emails and the 2 RMA numbers that never worked and the shipping confirmation if you want.
I don't think I am ever buying from ASUS ever again.
Why do people contact Asus directly and expect them to fix everything and give you money back.. Maybe it works different in USA than in Sweden.
- If I buy a product and have problems I contact the store were in bought it.
- If the product don't work as expected I go to the store were i bought it and return it.
And why do people think that there will be a magical fix. Have been well known that the GPS isn't the best and that the WIFI is little weaker.
This things you notice after some days and you can make one of following decision
A.- Keep it and accept how it works
B - Return it and get something else that meet your needs.
I don't use the product for several weeks and spend most of the time complaining on the Internet how stupid Asus and everybody is that have "stolen" my money.

Perhaps it does work differently over there. Because ASUS had promised that they would fully refund if people thought that their GPS feature was false advertising. And this is barely complaining. I simply listed what I am going through with ASUS right now. Perhaps after reading what Ive gone through you perceived that it was a negative experience and that ASUS stole my money. The fact is that my Prime has arrived in their facility since last month and I have gone through 2 RMA numbers that never worked and 4 phone calls to ASUS.

I just got my RMA email from support... Reading your email makes me real nervous about sending my TP in for service (broken connector\charger port).

I agree that you shouldn't complain to high heaven about your, but I do expect a company to stand by there product... that means repair, replace and if necessary refund if the customer isn't happy.

Yes, and when you contact Gary, do it via email (not PM), include your contact info in the email, and be polite. The old saying holds true here: you catch more bees with honey.
I think part of the problem here in general is that ASUS has no formal process for managing returns like this. They don't sell to end users, and so giving refunds is probably a manual process within a pretty complex organization. While it seems to have gone (fairly) well for some, there are bound to be instances where the system breaks down.
I understand the frustration--I'd be pretty upset myself. All I can say is, I do believe that ASUS is trying hard to do the right things. It's just that this whole thing is being handled well outside of their usual processes, and that always causes problems with companies like ASUS.

I believe by March they had already taken GPS out of their list of features. That was done back in January. Sorry you are going through troubles with the refund though.
