Hey all,
Starting off I would like to state the issue.
I made a nandroid of my cm7, then applied speedy7 and mashup v5b (2.3.4). Is there a possibility that one of them messed with emmc (internal storage). Thx.

I'm not sure what exactly happened but it is more than likely from the scripts. I've seen plenty of people say that they arent needed and lots more say that they caused problems. CM7 runs fast enough in my experience that extra scripts shouldnt be necessary. Revert back your nandroid and all should be well.
Those scripts aren't designed for cm7. The build prop is what's causing the SD to disappear though. I would remove them as they will continue to give you problems and also lower your performance.

Mashup was probably the mistake. Scripts from v7 are fine, but I would suggest using the CM7 scripts and if you "want" the speedy scripts, then make edits to the files(in linux or notepad++) So they don't conflict. But I almost Highly Doubt the Speedy scripts won't ever work right because CM7 is built with those features already made. So you won't see any change, but you will want to keep the cm7 scripts in place and without making edits unless you know what you are doing.
Thx guys. Appreciate it. I read each thread and I figured they wouldn't hurt (at least from my assumption).
Thx again.

Ok so I read about eclipse,molten,liberty,etc....but which ROM is the best I'm thinking about eclipse but just seems hard to apply, you know go to 2.3.5.then reroot which I wouldn't mind doing but can you guys tell me its it really smooth, for rite now I'm rooted, froze sum bloat, and I am supercharged...looking for friendly advice...
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
I've used all three. My top two are molten and eclipse. Liberty needs to get updated (IMO), it needs to be fixed up a little. I've had only like 1 or 2 problems with eclipse and it's nothing major, I can live with them; Eclipse makes up for it with speed. I'm running the 2.3.4 eclipse. Too lazy to SBF and i love it. Otherwise, molten is a great choice as well. Its up to you.
My suggestion is to flash the SPEEDY V7 script and the build.prop. They really make the phone so much better.
Hope this helps =]

Is whatever YOU consider the best if fits your needs. What's best for you can be number 1,000,000 to other. These kind of threads are redundant and they don't really get to nowhere. Also is posted in the wrong section.
On that note, thread closed.
Between Droid X2 build.prop Mash-Up v5 fixed 2.3.4, Speedy V7, Power Boost v2.0, V6 SuperCharger, 3G Turbocharger, 99 tweaks and anything else I'm forgetting, which are the most beneficial to use if your running CM7DX2? It's already a great ROM, I just want to completely optimize it as much as possible without screwing anything up. Improved GPS, Signal strength, speed, ect. Any ideas?
You don't need any of those. I don't use any of the scripts and the phone runs smooth.
With BLUR removed, the X2 can perform like it should have been able to. BLUR was the reason why the X2 performance was not up-to-par. Oh, and all the other bloat removed has helped too, but definitely, the BLUR stuff didn't help.
+1 but I think they are developing a mash that included the 8 touch points. I don't have 8 thumbs so not for me. I think it's helpful on some games etc. Don't know what else is in there. Can't imagine things running better than this.

Yup. That would be the only mod I can think of that is worth it. All the other scripts are not necessary and can actually slow down the phone and/or cause boot loops, especially the V6 Turbocharger scripts.

So I've been getting around to installing extra .zip updates. I've tried mashed up and the 8 point multitouch by moonshadow. I've been interested in getting the V6 (or V8) for my X2 on CM7. I've downloaded and installed both busybox and script manager. Busybox has been fine with no force closes but script manager on the other hand completely shuts down almost right away when launched. Plus on top of it, I don't know how to get/download the V6 script itself. If someone could please help me out and explain what I am doing wrong, I'd truely appreciate it. Thanks in advanced. Oh and I am proud to now be apart of the XDA forums. Love the droidforums app and droidxforums app. You guys are awesome and help out alot. Thanks alot and keep it up. Shout out to all the dev's making this possible too. You guys rock!

Dont worry about installing v6 supercharger, as its not needed and will decrease the preformance of your phone.
Script manager gives me issues as well with cm7. But as was said you don't need the v6 supercharger. Welcome to the forums

Cool, thanks for the fast responses. Well looks like I'll be uninstalling the script manager then. And no V6. Thanks again, feels good to be on the BEST forum IMHO. Got one more question if either of you two have flashed the mashed up rom or the 8 multitouch point fixer. Which one is better? I noticed the mashed said it would give better signal and all but I didn't see any difference. And I dont play much of any games on here so the 8 points is no biggie for me either. Thanks again in advance.

Enjoy the ride and say buh bye to your redraws.
Because it will be EFFIN FAST...
I have always used v6 on eclipse and other roms and really like it. However moon shadow was the tester for cm7 and he has said many times that v6 causes major issues. I run cm7 stock.
Don't get me wrong zep I love your work but before I try it on cm7 I would like someone to confirm it runs well with your new 6.9.
Well its been 24 hrs, 1000ish downloads and not a peep of a problem
I don't think he has tried any recent version... now that U9RC6.9 is up I'll nag him to try lol
Zep I almost went back to eclipse so I could try your new version 6.9 I already have it downloaded and saved to my SD card. I always go from cm7 and eclipse I will be using it for sure at some point. Thanks for all your work.

peoples posts have been miss read brotha lol
what they mean is that v6supercharger is not needed really on the x2 running cm7...
it's not like it's an official cm7 soo there are things about it that could be causing issues that have been mentioned.
on the other hand, I am on eclipse, I like to set my minfree myself so I edit the init.d script that nitro includes and use v6supercharger for all my needs PLUS the nitro lag nullifier and detailing...and it works GREAT.
it is also AWESOME if running stock rooted x2...
but with our cm7 there have been lots of complaints of lag when using v6supercharger but I don't think it's because v6supercharger itself is "useless" but more that our cm7 build just doesn't work all that well along with it...
Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk
I actually downloaded CM7 to see what tweaks there are but there's no special tweaks in init.d to interfere with.
My guess is that it wasn't liking the older adj/group limits.
Moon Shadow said he would test the newest 6.9 on Monday anyway.
Have you updated yet?

Zep, you might remember me or not but I used your supercharger and tweaks when I was on Stock Rooted 2.3.4 but then Cm7 came along (can't thank you enough DZK) and word was it wasn't needed and could actually cause problems. After reading the posts and you taking the time to stop by and give you're input...well that's good enough for me and I'll be giving it try this evening. Need to restore my build.prop to stock CM7 1st and nand of course but will let you know how it goes.
And as always thanks for all your hard work.
Currently on CM7 with stock CM7 build.prop, Installed V6 Update9_RC6.9 with options enabled for local.prop, system integration and animation. Rebooted after allowing cleanup by V6 without incident. No hangs or boot loops other than the longer boot time because of the dalvik wipe.
So far have used options 6,7 & 9 with no problems. Using Quadrant, Smartbench 2012 and Lindpak all show improvements over non supercharged cm7, Quadrant being the most notable with about an average 500 point increase. I've had no force closes, video play black, music and browsing are all ok with some "jerkiness" in Dolphine HD when using option 9. 3g speeds using Speedtest averaged 2500kbps down/925kbps up. Also played Shadowgun with no problems but then I had no problems playing it before V6.
I wish I knew how to be a better tester but I can for sure say it doesn't crash the phone and other than what I noted for option 9 nothing negative.
For anyone with an X2 running CM7 I'd say give it a try and I'll be very interested to hear what the folks of this forum that are smarter than me (which is pretty much everyone...lol) think after testing it out... Keep up the good work Zep!!!

As the title says, I just got an Eris as an off contract phone since I am moving over to Verizon in the next few weeks.
I have already rooted it and gone through a few roms.
What I would really like to know about though is if there are any problems or suggestions that I should know about to get this thing going any faster. I understand that the phone is old and limited in size and speed though.
Also, I am a Sense junky so if you have any suggestions for a good quick rom I would like to hear about it.

xtrSENSE (and a lot of ROMs here) come already some overclocked, and you can increase (or decrease) the overclock after using built-in tools. I can overclock mine to 806 MHz. Most people top out at 767 or maybe even 748 from what I've read in the past, and I think some have even gone over 806 MHz.
Just, if you increase your overclock speed, make sure and uncheck any option to set that speed at boot, so that if it crashes, when it reboots it'll not be overclocked and you'll be able to set a lower setting to try, or one that you know worked.
Other than that, I don't know how the V6 Supercharger script works with xtrSENSE, or even if you would want to. Almost any other ROM, especially Froyo (2.2) based or higher, I would say try the V6 Supercharge script (use XDA's forum search, or google it and you'll find it on XDA), but xtrSENSE is already very well scripted and modified as far as performance is concerned, so it might do more harm than good so if you try the V6, do a nandroid first.
Otherwise - I perform a fresh nandroid at least a couple times a month, usually after updating apps, just in case.

In addition to the above, this is how to flash it back to stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9867128&postcount=83
The Flashback_21v2 removes any custom recovery and reinstalls the latest stock firmware.
Also, stay away from ClockworkMod Recovery on the Eris. Several people have bricked their phones (most recoverable with a lot of work) with Clockwork as the default Recovery. Amon_RA recovery is safe on the Eris.
The best instructions for rooting and installing a AMON_RA and a custom ROM are here: http://androidforums.com/eris-all-things-root/127861-universal-eris-root-dummies.html
The best 2.1 based ROM is xtrSENSE5.0.1. There is a post here about it, but I think that the link for the actual ROM is down. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=726467 I have the download in my Dropbox, though: https://www.dropbox.com/s/57hivjeuaulvqx5/xtrSENSE5.0.1.zip
There are several good Gingerbread ROMs here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=554 - GSB, CondemnedSoul's SM7, Evervolv.
Well this has never happened sense alpha 3 but it freezes and crashes all the way. It will freeze crash reboot and then start bootlooping. Causing me to whipe data and cache. And I'm telling you this happens ALLL day. Is this happening to anyone else?
Sent from My Droid X2 running CM9
What are you doing when the phone does that? If it's really bad, I would wipe it clean and start over from scratch. A little extreme, but somewhere in there, something isn't happy.
I'm running CM9 right now and I never get boot loops. I get a freeze up and reboot every now and then but it never gets stuck in a boot loop. Maybe do what was suggested above and start over. For some reason I came back to CM9 from Paranoid Android via a backup I had and it was running funny. I did a factory reset and it helped. Sometimes you just have to start over.
Cm9 has always been erratic at best. If it bothers you that much I'd suggest running a stable rom.

Was it a clean install? Or a dirty flash? Sometimes data isn't compatible while transferring over. It may be extreme, but I would SBF, re-root, and reflash. Honestly, it takes less than 10 minutes.
I have to agree with the problems in CM9. I was only on it for a week before switching back to CM7. For me CM7 is very stable, just not as pretty as CM9

Agreed, which is why I feel fine running CM9 how it currently is. I understand that it wont be perfect with what we have. Personally, I dont find it running THAT bad to make me go back to CM7. The look and feel of Ice Cream Sandwich makes up for the SLIGHT bugginess it has. I find Gingerbread ugly now and will never go back to it.

Not unless its leaked to us or Motorola gives us an ICS update. Both will probably never happen though.
---------- Post added at 11:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:38 AM ----------
Also, Beta 1 IS stable and not worse than Alpha 5. This is why Dragonzkiller changed the title to Beta. If you are having problems with Beta 1, it could be a number of reasons. Some may not apply to you, but just saying:
1. You came from Eclipse and are still on 2.3.5
2. you flashed the MashUp mod. (this is already included and will mess stuff up if flashed again)
3. You tried to use the supercharger script and didnt configure it right.
4. you had a bad download
5. You didnt do a factory reset before flashing (This COULD cause bad behavior but isnt highly likely.)
6. You may have some files left over from other ROMs. (SBF may help)
Thats just some off the top of my head. When something isnt right other than what has already been said by the Dev or reported since release, its usually human error. I believe the majority of people using Beta 1 are not having serious problems with it.
In reality the closest we can hope for is kexec to have a semi functioning ics kernel. I doubt moto even developed ics for the x2. Also make sure to supercharge cm9. It does wonders for stability.
