Hello everyone.
I have encountered a functional problem with bluetooth on current Roms.
Ever since 2.3.6, my outgoing bluetooth mic volume is buzzy and noisy - so much so that it is impossible for anyone to hear me.
On stock 2.3.5 and lower, I do not have this problem. Its anything higher and all custom roms which lead me to believe its probably library/phone.apk & stream profile related.
I have tried porting older deodexed phone.apks and LIBS (thinking it is the noise suppressor fix and call record hack)
I have also tried replacing all the bluetooth libraries including the liba2dp + asound/audio.config files.
I have even tried other radios, but I cant seem to figure this out!
I know its the roms as Stock 2.3.5 and lower work - so its not my phone and must be some dev hacks. Im not sure what the devs are doing in the new roms, but I see BLUETOOTH FIX and Phone Volume in the changelogs so Im thinking this might be related.
I hope that someone here might be able to either help me with a fix or at least shed some light on whats going on here.
Thanks,
JF
Update
I am able to fix this in the service menu (*#197328640#*) but these codes do not stay when the phone is rebooted. My phones bt TX setting is default at 98.... it stops being noisy at 60.
So in addition to my question, I'd it even possible to make changes in the service mode stick? Is this a hack with scripts that from devs use now to fix phone volume?
Thanx .

As you know, in ANDROID 1.6 & 2.1 the in-call volume sucks, supposedly SE was going to fix it and release 2.1 with the fix, it never happened. AudioGuru shows something like the following:
Call volume: 5
Media: 15
(Don't remember what the others are called): 7
Media, as you can see is the loudest thing on the X10. So, have the developers of the custom ROM looked into fixing the volume issue, I assume this is just a matter of unlocking something in the ROM?
Not possible until the bootloader is hacked... This is old news
Can anyone confirm the Volume Hack app works on the internal speaker in-call volume? I've been wondering if it helps, but didn't want to pay to find out. Thanks in advance..
Hi,
I'm on Galaxy S2; Android 2.3.3; KE7.
When using headphones on my device the volume is great for music, videos, youtube, and even skype. However for some reason it's only around half of that level when calling (even tough the volume is set to maximum).
I've done some google research and found out that it's quite a common issue with this phone. A workaround has been found by using some codes. However, it is not a permanent solution.
I've found a post which says that someone had called Samsung and they acknowledged the issue and will send them a new phone where this issue has been fixed.
1) Has anyone found a permanent solution to increasing the volume of the call when on headset?
2) I've also found a post where someone says that apparently Samsung will fix this issue in Android 2.3.4. Can you confirm this? When will this be available? If it's longer than 1-2 weeks I will have to send my phone for a refund/exchange (although I love it).
Your advice on the above is much appreciated.
Hi, I've done some further research and I think I've found the solution:
First make sure that your sound is on (as you can't access the volume settings in the silent mode) -> press the Menu button -> Settings -> Sound -> Volume -> and then increase the 'Incoming call' volume.
I've just tested the call volume when on headset and it has been increased to a more that enough level. Great. My love to this phone is growing
Now I have to figure out how to disable the camera shutter sound....but that's a question for another post...
It seems that the solution above worked for some time but now my phone started to deliver very low call volume when on headphones. Maybe it's due to the Android update, I don't know.
However I found that the issue is related to the media volume. For example when I listen to music and turn the volume low then this affects the incoming call volume and it becomes low as well.
The solution to this problem seems to be: make sure that the music volume is max before you want to make a call. I've just tested it an is seems to do the trick.
It would be great to hear to another solutions to this problem for unrooted phones.
Heard this app works well,

Hi,
Sorry if this has already been covered but the search function is down right now so I can't check.
So far with Wolfbreak, Ultima and EWjet ROMs, I find that the videocamera doesn't pick up sound very loud at all. When playing videos back, the audio can barely be heard.
The volume is fine in all other respects (youtube/music/ringtone+notifications/in call volume), so the speaker hardware itself is fine - this is specific to the videocamera.
I've tried stock kernels that come with the Roms as well as Doomlords kernel (due to its in call volume fix) but nothing seems to help with this particular issue.
Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know how to fix it?
All suggestions welcome guys, and thanks in advance....

It's not a speaker issue, it's a microphone issue.
It captures low quality sound apparently.
Maybe someone can make an improvement by tweaking media_profiles.xml and editing the SemcCamera app.
UPDATE:
FYI
So I've now tried pretty much every custom 2.3+ ROM going and it's the same on all of them.
Reverted to 2.1 yesterday and the problem did not occur -
I then updated to official 2.3 via SE PC companion and found this same problem exists even on the official update, so it would seem that no matter what ROM you use, as long as it's 2.3 or higher, you WILL have this problem.
Sorry if this is common knowledge or anything but I haven't been able to find this info anywhere.

I am looking for this info so that i can fix a rom and make it at least partial functional and make it available for people around.
The thing is like the ROM is a CM9 but errors in auido (Low volume) and some more with camera and wifi.
Low audio in a Rom i downloaded. Can anyone help me fix this?
I have an Oppo R9S, rooted and running a CM13 build from a Chinese developer (Wu Xianlin) who I do not know how to contact and even if I did I don't speak Chinese.
The ROM is awesome apart from one irritating bug. When you make a phone call. It works as a handset, but if you use speakerphone the volume actually lowers to be quieter than in handset mode, and if you use a wired headset the sound is also very quiet. Bluetooth headsets are unaffected, so this is mainly an issue when calling banks etc. who want you to type things into the dialpad.
The speaker works fine for games and music as does wired headphones, so I don't think this is a driver issue.
I'm fairly sure the problem lies in the file mixer_paths_mtp.xml and other people have fixed similar issues by modifying this file, but I really can't figure out how it works or what to modify to fix this, and every attempt I've made so far just breaks sound completely and just putting it back doesn't fix it, I have to reflash. I have no idea why. I can't find much documentation on this file.
I've attached both the CM13 version of the file and the version from the stock ROM. I'd really appreciate it if someone who knows how these things work could take a look and suggest a fix. Also happy to supply any other files from either ROM if you think the problem may lie elsewhere.
Seems any change I make at all, no matter how small, kills all sound on my phone requiring a reflash, but thankfully doesn't require a wipe.
