Some funny experiments,Share your too - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

I recently found in my mind, when we search market for some app like mozilla it says incompatible with your device.First thing comes in my mind after seen dat how this market knows that this app is incompatible. When i was doing something waste of time with my phone i looked out build props.then i found out ro.ril prop there is written galaxy ace i changed it to nexus.
I saw that market is not showing incompatible apps
wonder

And where able too download and use the app where it first said ' incompatible' ?

google search market on my 'PC' first it say incompatible after editing ro.ril prop it is not showing anything

Ooh thats funny. Gonna give it a try i think
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App

After edit ro.ril in build.prop...can u download the app then used it on your phone? The question is not market know what phone u use but can u use the app that market says not for your device before? If can its good, if not...its just a wasting time to edit the build.prop tho

I develop apps for Android Market, and I know how it works. If you run cyanogenmod it is based on a softbank framework. The Android market detects this and only allows you to install certain apps. Developers also can choose what phones and what countries can get it.
It is also determined by DPI as well.

New Android Market

The new market is much much better looking than the old one.
Here is the link to the .apk file of the market. Just download and install it as any other app.
http://www.multiupload.com/PNTKMUYQUM
If you're having problems after installing it (I did not have any problem) or you don't like it. Goto Settings>>Applications>>from the upper tab choose All App>>go to market app and click on Uninstall updates. This should get you back to the old Market.
Thanks for the link. It takes a sec to get used to, but looks pretty slick.

question : 1. this release of android market stops the update process if installed on stock 2.3.3GB?
2. Android market will auto-update to this new version or it is available only for some countries? I live in Romania for example.
thank you

This update will be rolled out to all countries and has been released in very few countries (I think only some carriers in US and Canada).
Regarding your first question, I don't think so, but you can never be sure until the next update is released.

I think it cannot break the updates bcoz the market updater is a separate app, not within the vending apk.

so do you think it is possible to have a problem with market updater ?

Works fine, but I see (?) Japanese text in app info tab for some apps (eg. Facebook app). But, my system language settings is english. Will be difficult to know about the app.

Can't find app on play store, not compatible with youre device???

I know that everybody as experience this issue on SGP.
When u go to the play store on youre device and search heavy games such as gameloft's games nothing shows up, and if u try to do it on your pc it will say "not compatible with youre device". But i found a way to fixed, your device must be rooted first. Use a root explorer and change the name and finger print of youre device. Just enter the root and go to system folder and search for "build.prop" and edit it, change everything u see "YP-G70" to "any samsung high end devices" such as galaxy s2,galaxy note, galaxy nexus, galaxy s, etc. Now u can search thins that u couldn't find. Plus u can go to samsung app store via youre device or pc and get exclusive free gameloft games that samsung offers for galaxy s2,note,and s.

Or for people who do not want to root, just find a .apk file for what ever app. you are looking for.

My apps listing

With the new google play market, when you go to 'my apps' you have 'installed' and 'all' sections. Under 'all' it shows your purchased apps but also shows every app you've installed before. Anyway to clear the list to only show my purchased apps?
Cheers

Doubt it. That's the default & only setting in the Play Store as far as I know. Nothing in the phone app or PC settings I can find to change it.

Don't like the new way of arranging the appss in the new version off google play store.
Maybe they will change it in the next version.
I prefer the list in gplay. It gives you your installed apps list and all the apps you've downloaded list as separate. It's useful for one reason at least - I sometimes want an app that I installed but can't remember it's name or whether I installed the said app from gplay or from Web. if it's not on gplay list I know I downloaded it from Web.

Android Market Installed Apps History

Hi
Hopefully I'm posting this in the right place. I don't think this is an issue specific to my phone model.
I have this really annoying issue. When I go into the Android Market (or Play Store) and I look at my apps it previously showed purchased apps but now it shows all the apps I've ever installed. If I want to install an app I purchased previously I have to search through all the hundreds of apps I have ever installed!
I've tried to find a resolution via Google but I keep getting results showing how to clear market search history.
Does anyone know what I'm referring to and know how to fix this? Like I said, previously before I upgraded to ICS the market only showed installed apps and purchased apps that I haven't installed, now it shows every app I have ever installed and it seems to include apps I installed on my android tablet!
Thanks
Lee

Welcome to the new play store. This is intentional and functions the same as the iOS app store.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. Its an annoying idea. We should at least have the option to turn it off. If I try an app and don't like it I uninstall it, why would I want to constantly see an app that I don't want! Haha.
I like Android because, among other things, it isn't iOS.
Thanks
Lee
