Stock tethering - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I have tethered via USB many times before, but all of a sudden I it started"verifying" and telling me I needed the tethering mobile plan. Anyone else having this issue or know how to get it back to when my tethering worked?

Are you stock or rooted? Its the tethering manager apk that looks for the right plan

Stock + root
Should I uninstall that apk or modify it somehow?

You need to either freeze (Titanium Backup) or delete (Titanium Backup or any file manager, like Root Explorer, that can gain root access) the TetheringManager apk.
If you use a file manager, the apk can be found in /system/apps.
I deleted mine and haven't missed it one bit

Are you rooted? If not get rooted and flash a new rom like CM7/MIUI. If your already rooted you can flash a new rom or use an app like Titanium Backup to hide the apps.
Well i would actually like to remove them. And yes im rooted. On tsm res. right now and it has a few apps i would like to get rid of

Freeze them tibu
Then you can remove any app you want with Titanium Backup, or Terminal Emulator.
I use root uninstall free will let u remove any app on phone

That root unistaller was probably the best apl i have used. Wish they would automatically add that into builds

did it install as a system app? Strange. Could always use tibu to convert to a user app(if it is a system app) or just clear data and uninstall from tibu itself.

This app is a security application is it not? There are 2 options for install, both an apk file as well as a flashable zip. Did you install the apk or flash the zip. As well did the developer of the app give special instructions on uninstalling? If the app is for locating a lost phone there may be a trick to the uninstall process.
Titanium backup should allow the removal if your phone is rooted.

For me, I use avast and they have a removal tool built into the app for the anti theft portion. After that's removed you can uninstall the antivirus portion like any other apk. I would definitely check within the app first to see if there's a removal tool.

Ah yes thank you for reminding me. Usually there is ab option in the app that let's you un install it normally but since I was having problems the Dev Gave me a custom apk to run (and now another one which is why I had to uninstall) and I did move it as a system app that's why. I was successfully able to remove through titanium backup. Idk why I didn't think of it before. Thanks guys! Btw I highly recommend this app for security purposes.

[Q] [Help] Photon hidden menu lost!!

I lost the hidden menu from my phone. My photon is stock rooted and I uninstalled the hidden menu in the manage apps using rom toolbox lite. Can someone please make a back up of the apk for the hidden menu and post it for me? I need it so I can fix my 4g as I changed the wimax settings on the menu and the internet is slow and barely 4g connectivity.
Someone with rooted stock please use rom toolbox lite and go into app manager, in the app manager please backup the system app that has hidden as first word. Afterwards upload that for me.

Superuser keeps asking for root access

I rooted my tablet and I have Superuser on it. When I use some apps it works fine, and others won't start because it keeps asking for root access over and over. Any ideas? Thanks!
