This is a pure stock rom. I removed nothing. I only added system level tweaks. I.E. busybox, root, init.d support, and so forth. No apps were added or removed. Just something for people that like a stock looking rom with little to no changes.
Instructions:
Copy to SD.
Flash in recovery.

So with this we don't need to use the multi tool if we are running GB?
Does this give S-OFF with HC?

No. You still have to be rooted and either HTC unlock or s-off.

Updated with actual RUU and not a system dump.
It's not doing the bootloader thing for me. Did your latest update remove the necessity of flashing the boot.img in fastboot? Also, do I need to manually create the init.c directory? because it's not present after the flash.

No it is the same kernel and everything just used the official source. I packaged it this way to prepare for the HTC dumlock recovery hack. The only reason you would need to flash the kernel through hboot is if you are HTC unlocked. I am working on the recovery and integrating the dumlock so HTC unlock users can flash kernels in recovery

On this device you are unable to go back and forth like you can on other devices. You need to upgrade hboot for one. There is an s-off upgrade thread by globatron here somewhere that will tell you how to do the upgrade while keeping s-off. Once you do that you can flash this without an issue

This is a guide that hopefully makes things easier so you don't have to use Fastboot but instead use this app....all credit goes to joeykrim......
Searched everywhere and didn't see this info covered. So if this has already been stated, I'm a noob, and I apologize.......
So I found this app made by joeykrim a few days ago to be quite useful......Sadly my EVO 3D came out the box with HBoot 1.50 and my only option was to use HTC's Unlock Method....As you may know this method doesn't allow you to Flash custom kernels or roms with custom kernels baked in VIA recovery....the workaround was that you had to flash by using fastboot.......until now.....
So let's say your running your favorite sense rom, and decide that you wanna try out miui or cyanogenmod or vice versa.......normally you would need your computer to boot into fastboot, but thanks to joeykrims Flash Image GUI app you can flash the AOSP or Sense kernel, then the rom, and there you go....
1st Step: Download and Install this
http://www.google.com/m/url?ei=rS2b...UQFjAH&usg=AFQjCNHcnCXbd0CBHe3gdtDDbSG8eGuM2w
2nd Step: Download an AOSP Kernel if you moving from a sense rom to an AOSP rom.....Download a sense kernel if your moving from an AOSP rom to a sense rom and place it on your sdcard.
3rd Step: Open the app and select Kernel Image.
4th Step: Tap browse and navigate to the .zip that contains your kernel and select it......
5th Step: Tap Flash Image......Wait for it to finish flashing.....
6th Step: Reboot while holding Volume Down button.....
Final Step: Flash the rom that goes with your kernel.....if you just flashed an AOSP Kernel flash an AOSP rom, if you flashed a sense kernel then flash a sense rom......
Enjoy and i hope this was helpful..........

this program isn't free?
OK I don't have 1.5, I am lucky with 1.4 s-off. Thanks for posting this!
BUT, I have a nagging question, and am only asking because I don't entirely understand the unlock process for HTC, and the flashing thereafter.
I the s-off world, if you flash a ROM after a kernel, you din't keep the kernel, because the ROM has one in it. So my logic tells me that as stated in the OP when you flash the kernel first and then the ROM, the same thing would happen. I assume it's because if you flash a ROM on the go with 1.5, and not via fastboot boot recovery, it never writes the boot.img. SO in flashing the kernel first and then the ROM, it actually still holds the kernel flash? Right? Lol sorry, just curious.
Also, if this app bypasses boot security, has anybody tried a splash screen with it to see if it bypasses that too?

Anyways on to the individual at hand.
What's your device info? Like hboot version, what android version were you on before trying to flash? ICS or GB?
Here's a basics run down on how to get things going again.
There's a stock ruu/ota thread in the dev section, grab the stock GB ruu for your device, put your phone into fastboot mode (check in the amaze bible thread how to do this), restore your device, if it's a zip file for your carrier, rename it to PH85IMG and place it on your sd card, reboot into bootloader and then hit volume up to restore the stock ruu.
If it's an exe file, put it into fastboot and run the exe file, follow all steps and restore the device.
Once done, update to ICS via the software update option available on your device under settings>about phone>software update
Once you're on ICS, flash a custom recovery via hasoon's tool, then reflash the rom you were trying to flash in the beginning.
Ask any further questions right here.

Since there is a lot of confusion about the firmware zips I wanted to give everyone a quick run down about what they are and how they can be used.
Telling Firmware and Update Zips Apart
HTC uses two main types of zip files for their updates. Update zips are the ones most people are familiar with and can be flashed from a custom recovery, while Firmware zips are used for lower level flashing like radios/baseband or bootloader updates. An easy way to tell them apart is by looking at the name, most firmware zips will start with the devices designation such as PJ75IMG. If you open them up you'll also notice firmware zips only contain a handful of large files while update zips contain file folders and their content normally.
Click to collapse
Flashing Firmware Zips (If your device is S-ON skip to the next section)
There are three ways you can flash firmware zips:
The first is to rename the file to 'PJ75IMG.zip' (careful not to add zip twice if extensions are hidden), placing it in the root directory of the sd card and then to restart the phone while holding volume down. This brings up the bootloader which will automatically look for the file and try to flash it. Once it completes be sure to rename the file so the phone doesn't keep trying to reflash it.
.
The second way is by command through the recovery. On a S-OFF device, and a handful of HTC Dev unlocked devices, an update zip can pass along a firmware zip to the bootloader and have it flashed once the phone is rebooted. This is how normal updates are installed, however, without S-OFF the bootloader will only accept the request if the firmware zip is from HTC and has not been modified.
.
The third way, using fastboot, is my preferred method and usually the quickest. Simply place the the firmware zip in the folder with fastboot and use fastboot as follows
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip PJ75IMG.zip
fastboot reboot
As long as you point it towards a valid file fastboot is not picky about the naming.
Click to collapse
Updating Firmware and S-ON/S-OFF
All RUUs and OTAs use firmware zips that have been signed with a special key from HTC. This allows the device to know if it's been modified.
When a device is S-OFF it ignores this key and allows you to flash any valid firmware zip, but S-ON devices will only accept them when the bootloader is relocked and if the firmware zip has not modified in any way.
Since firmware updates almost always contain hBoot (bootloader) upgrades to prevent people gaining S-OFF I don't recommend ever updating the firmware on a S-ON device.

Flash at the bootloader
Hello everyone!
I recently purchased a Rezound and I want to jump into rooting/modding it. Im coming from the Samsung Fascinate, and that thing was super easy to root. I've searched the forums here but I just couldn't find a root guide. I want to flash Infection rom but I really don't know how to go about it. I don't know what this s-off and s-on business is about and I don't want to do anything to my phone without further research to prevent bricking my device. My software number reads: 3.14.605.13 710RD. I am running stock android 4.0.3. Could anyone please send me in the right direction to go about flashing custom roms on my new device? Thank you!

Thank you so much! i successfully installed infection rom and am using it with s-on buy flashing the boot.img after flashing the rom. i think i will stay away from s-off for now, but thank you again for your help
I was on the same OTA as you. Unlocked via HTCDev, flashed recovery in fast boot and superuser. From there you can flash ROMs while s-on. I went a step further using the unlimited.io website and got s-off.
If you stay s-on you need to have a computer to flash the boot.IMG from the ROM you want which is the kernel.

Oh I see. OK I will look into that

hey again guys, i just have a few questions.
Say if i were to want to flash a newer version of infection rom, would be okay to just wipe cache and dalvik then flash the newer version unless instructed by the dev to wipe everything? Also, since I am currently s-on, will i have to flash the boot.img everytime i flash a new custom rom or update infection rom?

I always wipe everything but yea you should be OK. If you change ROMs you have to flash the boot.img. I didn't stay son long so in not sure about updates. Try it if it doesn't boot then you have too.

I use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37061598 its the unofficial port of cm 10.1, stang is awesome enough to build an update every fourth night. So we do flash an update zip on top of our first flash and so on
If its an update to the ROM you should just be able to flash on top of it and wipe cache\dalvik cache. the only time you need a complete full wipe is if the android version changes from 4.2.2 which android version doesn't change often OR if you start having major issues.
As far as flashing the boot.img in bootloader every update. You should ask the dev or an s-on person using the rom. I wouldn't know because I s-off'd my rezound within the first 2hours of having it

Actually, it depends on the ROM. I use EclipticRez and Snuzzo and Hawknest have it set up to create a PH98IMG file of the kernel you choose in setup, it puts in in a folder so all you have to do as s-on is navigate to it in recovery and flash. So no need for a computer.
I've had the phone since it came out and I'm still s-on. Doesn't bother me a bit.
I looked into S-off for the Rezound and I found Hasoon2000s all in one tool kit found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696394
I also read about how there no more support for windows OS for s-off. I'm not familiar with linux unfortunately (something i have to check off in my bucket list someday). Is there any way to achieve s-off while using windows?
I did the wire trick on windows 7, I search for a guide for you on xda. I'll edit the post if I found something
Edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612035 I found this. Its exactly what you need

v3.16 is what you want. You need to unzip it and flash it in fastboot:
fastboot flash recovery <nameofrecovery>

Thanks.
So im looking for a full featured lightweight rom that has everything working. Neo has, well, a million roms out, needing something lean. Trying to move away from sense or maybe a desensed? Ideas?

You can try EclipticRez, I do believe there's a desensed option when installing but I'm not completely positive. If there is give it a go. It's really smooth and there's good, active support for it.
