Not to troll, but if you call HTC you can get them to send you a new back cover for free. Considering you got accessories for free, I would either keep them as a backup or sell them for a fair price ($25 seems decent). Up to you! Personally, I would also keep them just to have a spare.
Backcover, usb cable, battery, charger every htc owner has the right to get a new replacement one year from the day he bought the phone. And btw $45 is what backcovers go for on ebay.

Im going to take this with a grain of salt. Im sure there will be issuances anytime you have a device that's just out it has can have problems. I have faith given the OG Evo's track record that yes in a month theyll have an OTA update that addresses a lot ... still getting mine next friday .

F THAT! My wife has a friend who just happens to work for Sprint. she got her hands on the phone, her own, today! I played with it. the 24th can not come soon enough.
say what you want I have no pics to prove it but I wasn't going to spend my 5 minutes with it taking pictures. I wanted hands on time. personally 3D isn't bad I think people are expecting too much, more than anything. 3d Photo's are awesome. and the 1.2 dual core, and 1GB Ram. what is waiting? hands down butter smooth and fast. So responsive the phone moves as fast as you do at times, and you end up in places you aren't aiming for. I'll take that ANY day!
Ah I'm in love. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! If you really take the 3D as an added feature, and take in everything in minus 3D it's everything you dreamed of. My wife wasn't as impressed 3D, but she also admitted she expected the 3D to be more "movie like". whatever. she thought everything else about it was great and she owns the shift.
Also I think sense 3.0 is sweet. granted I'm coming from a samsung moment so ANYTHING other than samsungs crap is better in my eyes, but think the lock screen features are great.

Keep the MHL dongle that comes with the phone, the guy at Sams told me all that really matters to them is that the phone and charger are in there, never even noticed I had left out the MHL dongle
requires like 125 bucks laying around (Sams Club price), but at least you get it right back, only thing you pay for is a few days service
so you basicly scam and act like a stealing criminal. nice....
All this just to save $20? No thanks

I hate ATT as much as the next guy, but stealing is never right..
I would just be thrilled to be able to find a Tmobile store in chicagoland that had them in stock!!!

I'm kinda torn on this.... Now I would never go sign up for At&t and get a phone just so I could return it and keep the MHL adaptor. BUT, I'm sure many of you have gotten a replacement device under warranty and kept the battery, battery door, or charger/usb cable whenever you returned the device. I know Sprint has told me to keep all the accessories and just ship the phone back, which I have done. If that was the case with the OP, then I dont see a problem. Now telling people to go sign a contract with AT&T just to keep a MHL adaptor is a different story though. Too much work and probably not even that much cheaper than just buying the adaptop after you pay for 3-4 days of service, figuring that the plan is $100 a month, divided by 30 days is around $3.33 a day, 3.33 x 4 is over $13... Just buy one for $20 and save the hassle and dishonesty... just my 2 cents...

When the rubbery material puckers use a hair drier and carefully warm the affected area and use a round implement (wooden spoon handle) and remold the edges curling them a little further than exact so that the TP will stretch them back and fit very snuggly!

I phoned HP customer services yesterday and complained bitterly about my email details (and a lot of others) being compromised and at HPs willingness to take payment for items they know that they havent got.
I received an email from an N W today saying they were looking into what happened.
Anyone else get this because I think we should all kick up a stink collectively.
I got the generic apology email today too from the UK MD.
Note to HP: if you're going to bother to apologise, please don't start your email with "dear customer". As far as I'm concerned, that's ex-customer now

At least you have a choice. Being a teenager I can't afford to buy an off contract phone and still keep up with paying for the part of the plan I pay for.
I guess I need to start thinking about carrying a murse (man purse) around with all these huge screens coming out, or maybe a fanny pack, or a belt holster . Or maybe those huge rave pants will become trendy again...

I hope it does have removable memory and removable battery but won't bug me to much if it doesn't have a removable battery if it's a good size. I think all HTC devices on VZW have those things and maybe could be a requirement for HTC devices on VZW? Plus the Dinc 4G did and that's a variant of the one series.

or, you could buy a smaller screen phone. Just because a 5" phone comes out, doesn't mean you have to buy it.
This is a thread to keep track of people who have successfully swapped out their black LTEVo for the white one. Obviously if you are within your first 14 days that is no problem but for those of use who aren't people this thread may shed some light on how to go about getting the white one.

Indeed.
I asked a rep at a store if it'd be possible. I didn't attempt.
They said maybe through repairs if the situation fit, retentions if you were desperate or a manager with pull, otherwise I'd have to be within the 14 day period.
Didn't expect the rep to say this much about it.

ill bite. maybe someone can elaborate. i tried swapping out today......in my 14 days, well 3 sprint stores, and a bestbuy, nobody has the damn thing!!! no white. only black. so how would i go about getting the white at this point? i called 1 800 number they said i could return to the store i got it from, and go through them. or i could return it, get refunded with a damn check, pay for the 10 days of service i have used, and restocking fee, then buy it when it hits the store? stupid imo!!! i dont know probably gonna just have to stick with the black? any ideas?

Wow, everyone in my region has it. I'd ask how soon the restock would be & then refund the phone if it's too close to the said day.
It all depends on how bad you want it.

I'm going to try the retention route and expressed how disappointed I am that I was not made aware that a one one would be released. I have been with sprint for 7 years always pay my bill on time and I never complain but this is an exception
Eh, was going to try, until I saw the white one in person, at the store.........
I prefer the original black one a LOT more, except for the stupid soft touch rubber on it.
Honestly its nothing special. They always cone out with the white one later.
You signed on early with the black one. Keep it.

You guys are the reason we are gonna be paying $300 on contract soon. Just keep your black Evo and swap with someone on Craigslist later. It's not that deep. Something so small can create a big mess sooner or later.

I have a black one and the vibration motor is loose and rattles every time I hit a key. I'm about 30 days into it, but I'm going to take it in this week and if I can get ta white one to replace it I will, but if not not no biggie. I don't know if they will swap me with a new one or give a refurb, but it's worth a shot.

really??!!! how so???????? because i switch to sprint....and i even asked if there was gonna b a white evo! he said not that he was aware of! so im in the wrong for trading for a white???? i dnt think u know what ur talking bout!! i believe that im within my 14 days, and can do whatever the hell i choose! but thanks for commenting. so if ur so sure people like me are gonna make people like u have to pay 300, i would like to know y u think this???? because its policy anywhere u go sir. 14 days........if ur not happy, which im not......then sprint, or whoever the carrier may be, needs to grant me what they have promised! and that is to make the consumer....."me" happy! thanks

Those 14 day exchanges kill our metrics, at least when you do it give them a very satisfied in the survey. Those surveys are what keeps all of us paid

Ok here's the deal guys. I have successfully returned my black for white!! And its boss!! Way better lookin than the black imo. I was within my 14 days, had to pay 35 restocking fee. Didn't mind paying it. Also, since I didn't c this answered.....it came with old firmware!!!! But u have to tell them not to accept that update, because the guy was going to...I told him not to, and that I wanted to c a changelog first. So I'm golden!!! A success! Rooting and s-off ing right now!!
