hi
I am a user of the new beta1 of CyanogenMod7 by Quarx. I dont like ADW so i tried that.
It does not work it boots but it stays at cyanogenMod Logo.
Is there another way to get the Stock Launcher?
Hmmm... I'm interested too.
Maybe this can help you?! http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-install-stock-gingerbread-launcher-on-android-devices-running-cyanogenmod-7/
I have already tried that, is nearly the same as that what i posted in the first post. Does not work. Its becouse wo dont have official cyanogen.
there's a gingerbread launcher on the market, but i don't know if it is the same of the stock version.
I now 3 gingerbread Launcher in the Market the one by Eugene373 does not work on CM7, i dont like the one by MoDaco becouse no 3D app drawer and the third one cost money so havnt tested it yet....
If you want stock launcher install it from market, but before install beta2 cm7 rom becorse it support now opengl es2 and launcher is now working

i don't think you can
I always use the HE Launcher regardless of the rom. I upgraded to the cyan rom and first thing I did was install this launcher then deleted the ADW system app.

I use launcher pro with some tweaks its better than eugene launcher and faster eugenes launcher is little bit slow

ADW works now good for me
after installing cm7 app drawer was a bit laggy but now works perfectly
I've installed Launcher Pro Plus and it works like a charm, ADW was laggy and I couldn't do anything about it ( that was also the case when I was on Froyo).
Ok i think Stock launcher is not needet anymore, i tried it and did not like it becose of the low resolution in the app drawer. Go Launcher is best i think.
Good work !
Hello guys, I have a question. First, my phone is running with Axura ROM. The thing is want to revert back to using TW Launcher and not use Launcher Pro. I don't like the look of the icons in Launcher Pro anymore.
I tried reinstalling TWLauncher using Explorer but the app will not install. Does that mean I have to do something special for the app to work with Axura?? Please help.
Did you uninstall the TW Launcher? If not you just need to go to "manage apps" in settings and clear the defaults for LauncherPro. Then press home and it should give you the option of which launcher you want to use.

If I remember correctly TWLauncher is completely removed from Axura. You said you tried reinstalling TWLauncher. How exactly did you go about it? I would recommend getting the stock KB1 which the last Axura release was based on, copy TWLauncher.apk from /system/app, and push it to /system/app on your phone. Reboot and it should be available.
Thanks for the reply guys. Here's the scoop. There was a reason for axura to remove TWL simply because it doesn't work. I was able to install the latest version and honestly it SUCKS. That damn launcher locks my phone and I ended up reinstalling everything from scratch again. TWL is not good for axura, looks nice but it's not worth it. Anyway, that is what I got for you and thanks for the replies.
Yeah I think TW Launcher 4 had bugs. Version 3 was stable. Not sure about compatibility with Axura. It was a loooooong time ago when I last used that rom.

It was taken out. Have you tried a different launcher? Like ADW or ADW-EX
I hate the lag on the phone, sometimes it feels like my dell streak all over again! Go launcher seems to clear a lot of the lag out. I can't wait for an update.
Unless theres a kernel that can fix this lag now? Should I root?
uh, what new version? The latest I see is Feb. 29th.

Yeah.... that one lol
Yes i ran go launcher on my skyrocket so i installed it on my note and it did indeed improve the lag but skyrocket is still smoother.

Instead of using the go launcher is there a way i can just use the same launcher that was on my nexus one? I liked it and it was faster on a less powerful phone.

You probably just want Zeam launcher. Its pretty close to stock Gingerbread and runs smooth on the Note. Alternatively, ADE Ex is also running great.

Another update for Go just came out this morning, I still have lag tho!!
Sent from my rooted Galaxy Note
I updated GoLauncher yesterday and it does seem a little less laggy. Still not as snappy as the Skyrocket. I noticed that if you change the scrolling speed under Screen Settings to 100 and decrease the elasticity to 0 it makes it much more responsive on the homescreen. BTW ADW launcher runs much faster IMO but the ICS theme doesn't look as good as with GoLauncher.
what phone did u use cus i cant get my ubdate for hd2

Yep still laggy. Nothing beats TW quite yet with this resolution.
Definitely not confirmed!
are all you guys running stock ROMs/Kernels?
I noticed that after flashing the overclock 1.9ghz kernel by Da_G + SauROM + V6 supercharger my go launcher is pretty smooth. I think the twLauncher may be SLIGHTLY better... but not much

Running on DaGs v2 at the moment. Any launcher besides TW is still laggy for me.

I'm running stock rooted from Mashi's exploit. I stayed with GoLauncher on an ICS theme. It's pretty smooth, less lag than stock TouchWiz. I noticed that newest version of ICS Launcher from the market (v1.4) is super laggy, but v1.2 is very smooth.
I had lag on all launchers until I rooted and got rid of all the bloat apps. Using go launcher now which is smoothest for me.

What lagg are you referring to? Mine lagged when I first got it but I quickly found that the "power saving mode" was causing the lagg. Without it turned on, smooth as silk.
Mine doesn't lag either. I found it to be quite the opposite...faster than my SGS2.

Hello,
i donĀ“t like the TW-Launcher or all the other Home-Replacements. How can I use the stock launcher with my SGS SII (Android 4.0.3)????
Thank you!!!!
Greetings from Germany
I think you might have to push it. Have you checked out Nova launcher? Same launcher, more settings.

It has been mentioned, but I agree. Never tried Apex, since Nova, inside AOKP has always done it for me. Apex and Nova are equally cool, from what I've heard about Apex, lol. Matter of choice.

i like the nova launcher. It's a great launcher and looks like the ics stock launcher
I tried trebuchet from and launcher2 from galaxy nexus, both force closed when adding a widget...
I just copied them to data/app folder and set rights similar to other apps in the same folder. Do i need to do something differently?

Are you on ICS or GB?..
Also, I remember something about pushing it to system/app instead, something about a permission, exactly because of the widgets in app launcher. Try to move it to system apk instead.
Good luck. Launcher2, I wouldn't really count on. Trebutchet, Nova and Apex, I don't see why wouldn't work

Official ICS. Everything works now with trebuchet, had to run apk to install it. Just copying/pushing didn't do the trick.

Just tried apex, very decent launcher with a lot of function, fast, and looks good, thank you guys.
does anyone use Go Launcher on the Rezound?
The only reason I use it is because I like having
a lot of icons on one home screen. (6x7 to be
precise) HTC Sense doesn't seem to allow this,
or did I miss something?
THanks!
i tired and it lagged like hell on both ics and gingerbread. try adw ex, thing is smooth as butter.

I'm surprised it works fine on ics for you since I read a lot of compatibility complaints. I know it works fine on gb
I've used Sense, ADW, Go, Trebuchet, Nova, and now Apex. Out of all of them, only Go gave me a feeling of slow responsiveness. All custom launchers have lots of tweaks now (including grid size), so I go with whatever is in my current flavor of ICS unless I get issues.

Running GoLauncherEX myself. No lag at all
Have ran it on the following:
Ineffabilis Dues v1.01 and v1.4
CleanROM GBE, DE and SE
Still on old firmware as well. No problems
I use go everything. Rocks Widgets, keyboard, etc, it's super handy.

i'm using it on stock/unrooted....no issues whatsoever.
I had some lag on stock. Maybe I should give it another try...
im running it on CR 4.3 without lag or slugishness
I used goLauncher. However, I noticed the icons were very tiny, and widgets didn't take up the correct size of the screen. I'm using Apex Launcher now, so far no problems.
I absolutely love go launcher. It had all the options I need plus amazing themes. Rotation, gestures, custom fonts despite ics, and phenomenal updates, nothing even comes close. Sadly it only ran smooth on aosp or cm7 on tbolt. It runs like **** on rezound, after debloating and desensing , specially on ics. Ppl suggested other launchers but none come close in terms of themes maybe in options..
I just deal with the lags and hick ups and thank my god for their phenomenal dev team they came a long way on ics
Ask not what your developer can do for you, ask what you can do for your developer.
Used it for awhile and then noticed in my proxy logs that it was calling to china randomly throughout the day. adw ex now.

I tried go launcher when I was completely stock and it did lag so I decided I would try out sense for awhile. I ran go launcher on my Droid x running miui. I ended up not liking the sense launcher at all. Yesterday I rooted and tried out a couple of roms. Go launcher works great on cleanrom 1.7.5 and ineffabilis 1.4(currently on).

I use go launcher myself. I started using it real close to it's initial release and it definitely offers the most complete package among it's competitors in my opinion.
