Hey everyone,
So I, like most people on XDA, flash different ROMs all the time. The problem is each ROM has one thing I like but others I don't.
However, the joy of Android is just that! You get to make your phone custom
Anyway, I really like the notification drop down bar on Serendipity. I think Mikey and Chance did a phenomenal job with it. Looks great. But I like the functionality of CyanogenMOD.
Is there anyway to port the notification drop down from Serendipity to CM7?
Thanks!

I'm doing this off memory so bear with me for any errors. On the cm rom, pick a theme that u like and find the apk for it in system/app. Pull that apk and decompile it with apk tool. Then download the ROM that u want and take systemUI.apk and framework-res.apk and decompile them. After u decompile it, look for some file names in res/drawablehdpi for the images u will want to transfer to the cm theme. Then copy them to the cm theme. I think u have to rename them, but I'm not sure what to rename them to. I will update this when I find out since I'm working on my own theme for this. After u copy them recompile the apk and sign it using apk tool and send it to your device and install it.
If u have no idea on what I am talking about search for how to make themes by jivy26 on themes and apps. Or I can help u make a port, but u would have to be willing to test because i dont feel like switching roms.
If I had money, I would get a credit card. If I had a credit card, I would donate.

Thanks for your reply. The only problem is that I've done this and cannot seem to find any corresponding images in the theme/res/drawable-hdpi directory.

In system ui in drawable there should be pictures with the labels status_bar something. There will be multiple background images and should be the toggle images. You wouldn't be able to find this if you were looking in framework-res

Depends. Which theme? Link?
There's a couple theme porters available here on xda, or google. Or you can look into doing it manually, then you can grab what you want and mix and match. It sometimes takes a few tries, but its fun if you like that sort of thing. All you have to do is unzip, swap out the pngs you want, zip and and sign, make an update.zip and flash, or use something like Ninjamorph to stuff it back. Automates the zip, sign, replace.

The Theme that I was interested in coverting over to CM6.2 was the andro green theme originally found in the Hero forum, the link is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=783883
+1 for an answer to this, I'm in the same boat. Tried Theme Porter but I think I'm doing it wrong...
Basically what i ended up doing was just replacing all the appropriate images in the framework-res.apk

what program/app did you use to do this?
It be really easy to port that theme since its already on a same size mdpi device . Only thing that would be a little time consuming is if he made any changes to the xml's which isn't hard to do just takes a little time to sift through it and compile it to your framework based on the rom you are using.

I used dsixda's HTC Android Kitchen to decompile the ROM that I wanted to replace the images in the framework-res.apk. I definitely recommend learning how to use it because it will allow you to customize ROMs of your choice and allow u to add and remove apk's in the ROM. And then recompile it.

Not anywhere specifically, I learned by decompiling frameworks and reading tthrough the source xml's and asking and read up in theme threads and Appmanager. But if you have any question about something specific you can pm me

i agree, all the themes here right now are pretty much just different colors, nothing this in depth
this one is nice!!!! why Vibrant is so boring?
Just flash to one of the 2.2.1 JS ROMS such as Loki, Teleforce, Sweet Honey 2.5, Juwe's, Atriarc (my personal fav).
Then download the theme from the i9000 forum, open the zip, remove the services.jar, resign the zip and flash thru CWM and viola.

I may be wrong and someone please correct me if I am but I don't think you can just open the zip and remove the services.jar? I believe you need to download 7zip or a similar program and do it from there.
If someone can tell me how to attach the zip after I remove the services.jar I will upload it for anyone that wants it. When posting here on XDA zip files can be no bigger than 8.0mb, this zip is 42.6mb. Probably a little smaller once services.jar is removed.

Yes sorry, you would need to use 7zip to open the archive and remove the services.jar file. Then use AutoSign to resign the zip

I removed the services.jar but I am not at all familiar with Autosign. I did just download it to check it out but I have no clue of what to do next? I read a little on it and it's way over my head. I was able to take another theme I liked and get running fine on my phone but when it comes to getting these themes back up here on XDA for others I'm not sure how to do it.

run autosign.bat.
Then:
select option 1, type yes, hit enter (if FC thats ok)
select option 2, type yes, hit enter
select option 3, type yest, hit enter
select option 4, type in path of zip file that needs to be signed, hit enter.
When done, then the zip is now signed and can be installed thru CWM
As far as posting theme on here, you need to upload the theme to website like www.multiupload.com. Then once its uploaded paste the link on here
I meant to have it ported to vibrant 2.2 roms like Bionix 1.3.1 or others.
a few days only
hello, I am the creator of the theme. As I stated in the original threat, I will start working at the port theme on 22 march. I hope you will have the first test themes tomorow evening, or on 23 march. I also will need some testers, so if someone want's to enroll, give me a PM.

thanks for the great work. i didn't know whether or not you would make a vibrant version seeing as how you didnt mention it.
I just use astro file manager than open the theme zip file on your phone and than just delete the services jar file and thats it.
Hey,
I started to make my custom own theme, it is mix of the crysis sensation, modded steelblue theme with the gingerbread theme of clarkkov as base. But the theme has some bugs that I can't fix, so I hope someone will help me to clear the bugs.
Here are some screenshots.
Here are the bugs.
So, if someone would like to help me, sent a pm and I will give you the files you need
Note: I'm not going to release this theme.
the battery icon must be in the framework or it wont be showing...
For the rest I think .9 pngs are the problem..you must have edited them without decompiling... try to decompile your edited framework with apktool and if u get any error like "cannot find .9 patch chunk in file" edit them appropriately
Google is ur friend
Ok, thanks for your answer, will try what you've said.
Btw: the battery icon is not in my framework files, I've looked everywhere and couldn't find it :/
try looking in folders other than drawable-ldpi, I'm sure u might find it
EDIT: Other possibility, the problem could be two framework-res.apk in your system partition...when the system scans two same packages it keeps one and ignores the other...remove any duplicates if u find
Thanks again, will try to find

No-one has been able to do this yet. We have been trying for a long time. There is just something about the ASUS systemui that doesn't play nice.
You could try this thread that I read earlier, you may have some luck with it, I haven't tried:

The main themes are for non-asus ROMS, ie based on aosp. I believe reNeglect managed to figure something out with regards to ROMs based on asus firmware ie virtuous, but you would need to speak to him about that.
I don't know how forthcoming reNeglect will be, as people have not been giving him much love, and considering the amount of time and effort that he has spent working on his theme, I don't blame him for being pissed off.

my phone is the htc one x, Android 4.0.3 and with stock launcher ''rosie''

If you just want to replace icons with others, all you need do is use 7zip or similar to open the apk file and literally just swap the existing icons with some new ones.
If you want to add icons, or change how they're displayed, then you're looking at decompiling.
Need help !
Can I jus replace the contacts.apk , phone.apk and get a new look or can I jus replace the PNG's on those APK's ?
Or , should I have to deal wit' the systemui.apk and framework-res.apk ?
Also , is there any way that I can extract the icons from an icon pack ??
