Hi i have a Evo 3G FSM on uk network the status is its rebooting at the HTC Logo Screen this is what i have done, downgraded the HBoot to 1.49.0007 from 1.49.0018, unlocked from htcdev, flashed a cwm-4.0.1.4-shooterru.img recovery I get can in to recovery i have tried flashing the boot.img and then flashing the rom but every time i flash a rom it flashes with no errors but the bootloop is still happening i can't seem to adb from bootloader only recovery. I also have tried a RUU but it comes up with ruu is not compatable and cant find the original stock rom. i have no backups at all as i just bought the phone in the current state.
Any help will be gratefull
I have managed to get A later RUU to complete successfully but it still wont boot i also forgot to mention i have changed the CID to HTC____001
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
try this:
1. go to recovery > wipe & factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, go to mounts and storage, wipe system, data, cache, sd card... everything u can find there... wipe all..
2. in recovery DO NOT REBOOT, turn off phone
3. go to android development of evo 3d gsm, find a rom, for example mikrunny 1.06, open the archive extract the boot.img from the kernel folder.
4. assuming u have android sdk installed on ur computer, make a new folder and from the android sdk tools copy adb.exe, fastboot.exe, adbwinapi.dll (exact same files u used to unlock bootloader). also in this folder put that boot.img you extracted from the rom
5. put that folder in C:\
6. get back to phone , still DO NOT BOOT UP YET, and power up phone in bootloader mode (vol down & power) and go to fastboot
7. connect phone to pc in fastboot usb mode
8. open command prompt, type cd c:\"folder" ("folder" = folder u created with the sdk tools)
9. type in cmd: fastboot flash boot boot.img
10. after it's completed, go to recovery, still do not boot up phone
11. in recovery go to mounts and storage, usb storage and now copy the whole rom and nothing but the rom on the sd card
12. install zip from sdcard, select rom and let it install, it should boot up automatically
hope u get it done
THANK YOU VERY MUCH SeptimiuB
Thank you that worked a treat I have spent 4 days trying to do that. I done nearly all of that apart from I never formatted everything in mounts

hmm... is this method applicable to S-ON device or only for S-OFF device???
It will work for s-on. Actually s-off is done to avoid this flashing of kernel using fastboot from your pc. When you are s-off its a simple matter of installing from recovery, no need of a pc.

First things First.
A HUGE thanks to EVERYONE here in the community of XDA, you are FABULOUS guys, with all the helpful threads and answers, you are doing a FANTASTIC job!
Then, here's my problem:
2 days ago i bought my new HTC EVO 3D (GSM) and i decided to root.
This is the tutorial i used:
[Tutorial] [UNLOCK/ROOT] EVO 3D GSM Hboot 1.49.0011> + S-On [HTC Unlock method]
Everything went better then excepted, but here comes the problem.
I decided to install as my first rom, this one:
[ROM] Warm TwoPointThree - Release One [Sense3.5][12/31/2011] - Always Brilliant!
But at boot logo, nothing happens; i waited about - 30 mins? to load up, and... nothing.
I thought it was a bad flash or something, so i decided to change rom, and i picked this one:
[ROM]LeeDrOiD 3D V5.4[KERNEL] V5.4 2nd April |Aroma|Tweaks|Fast|Stable|Beats
Now things loads up good, and everything worked, but i decided to move on, and i picked this one:
☆ ★ | ROM | InfectedROM Eternity™ | TESTING | NIGHTLYS | 3.5 | XE BEATS | ★ ☆
That gave me a strange error. Kind of "boot-loop". When bootscreen appears for the first time, i wait for it to load up everything - 20 mins? and after that another bootscreen appears, similar to the first one, but after 20 secs, it stops, (think it crashes) and starts again! again and again.
I Thought it was a bad flash or something (but i dont think so, because i downloaded it 4 times, and checked it, and every single download was good, giving me the same boot error) and i decided to choose another rom:
[ROM] MIUI 2.3.7 - EVO 3D GSM + AOSP/SENSE KERNEL[cile381]
But same error, bootscreen gets stuck, and after 30 mins i decided to go back to stock rom.
So, this is the problem.
Now i'll give you some info:
Every time i install a new rom, i perform a full wipe (data/chance/dalvik)
When i installed InfectedROM i used their InfectedWIPE tool to wipe everything.
My actual version of Android is 2.3.4 and my Sense is 3.0 (i don't know if it has something to do, but it might be useful...) on stock ROM.
Can somone please help me? It's kind of frustrating to keep on flashing all these ROMs and seeing that nothing works fine!

you mean that before flashing the roms above i should flash a new kenel? o.o
with a little of search ability, i was able to download and install Flash Image GUI, then i flashed AntraX Kernel vers. 2.3.4 (from InfectedROM) and.... bam, infinite boot-loop! what should i do?
now i restored my backup, but if its AntraX kernel the problem, why it appens with MIUI ROM that use a different one?
Certain kernels only work with certain roms. Make sure you are using a kernel recommended by the rom developer.
Which rom are you running? Anthrax is not for all roms
Do the following
I've had this problem before.
Before you start you must have a custom rom with boot loop flashed
Do the following:
1. Download this file to your computer, unzip it, and put it on your desktop.
http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/HTCEvo3D/rooting/rootevo3dnew.zip
2. Open up the "rootevo3dnew" file you placed on your desktop.
3. Open up and install the HTC Drivers. ( File name is HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe)
4. Once the drivers are installed, you need to restart.
------- Phone side---------
After your computer reboots, start up your EVO 3D into HBOOT. (Power down, take out battery, put back in, hold down power and volume down simultaneously until a white screen comes up.)
1. Once in HBOOT click the power button on the selection "FASTBOOT"
2. Now plug your phone into your PC.
-------Computer side----------
5. Get your ROM zip you flashed on your PC and unzip it.
6. On the root of the ROM file you should see a boot.img file. Extract it to the rootevo3dnew file on your desktop.
7. Now open command prompt.
8. Navigate to your rootevo3dnew file by typing cd desktop/rootevo3dnew/
9. now type fastboot boot boot.img
10. The phone should boot normally into the rom.
Thank you cburk01 for the answer, but i worked out something similar that i found on an old post, and now my evo 3d is fine.

1. go to recovery > wipe & factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, go to mounts and storage, wipe system, data, cache, sd card... everything u can find there... wipe all..

PROBLEM SOLVED!
Ok here's what has happen you've lost your boot.IMG and this what you will have do to reinstall it first you will have to go to your pc or laptop and the Rom you've flashed you will have to xtract the zip file and then open that xtracted folder and scroll down and you will see your boot.IMG now you will have to copy it into same folder that you have your adb and your fastboot next open up command promt and typ your command to get into fastboot drivers going and once your in typ fastboot flash boot boot.img and then your EVO will boot

Hey, If you are S-ON you have to do one step more. Go as to my sequence.
I assume you have already downloaded fastboot, drivers and android in your pc. And your phone is bootloader unlocked via HTC dev method and rooted, CWM installed. So ..
You need these : SuperWipe (To wipe data) , A Custom ROM ( I suggest Mwakious Demcritous 3D v7.0) / Put these to your sdcard root and Get a copy of these on your PC hard drive too.
1. First go to your recovery menu ( Here its CWM) and select Install from zip file.
2. Select the SuperWipe.zip and click OK, this wipes all your data.
3. Now again select install update from Zip file on recovery . Select the Custom ROM zip file from the sdcard and click install.
4. Then youll see its getting installed. Once its done select turn off your Phone from recovery menu.
5. BOOT IN TO BOOTLOADER Menu now. (Holding vol down + power) , DO NOT TURN ON YOUR PHONE OR YOU'LL get STUCKED in BOOT LOOP
6. Connect the phone to the PC, then bootloader menu will say --> Connected via USB
8. Now unzip the same ROM file youve got in your Hard Drive. Once done find a file called "boot.img" inside that unzipped folder.
9. Now open up a cmd, go to you android tools location (eg: C:/>Program Files/Android)
10. Type > fastboot devices ( If this shows some result which makes any sense proceed to step 11)
11. Now type the below command on the CMD.
"fastboot flash boot C:\<Location you've extracted the zip>\Mwakious3DRom.v.7.0\boot.img"
12.If the result says DONE, you are good to go.
13. Turn off the phone and On it now
14. You should be logged in without a problem, guaranteed !!! Otherwise let me know
Thanks

Thank You Very Much And Where Can I Find This ROM?
So I am currently on hboot 1.50 and today i attempted to install the new viper rom. It's based off of the new ics release.
I kpet getting bot loops with it so I wiped and then attempted to restore back to my cm9 devil toast.
Now i'm stuck in a boot loop. I was wondering if you guys knew how to get back into a rom.
I'm currenlty not at my home computer so I can't connect it to the computer and boot into recovery via the computer.

Just unlock your bootloader and install a recovery before trying the above steps.

hi
a friend gave me his old htc evo 3d (gsm) which is currently not working (device is working but it doesn't boot)
i've been looking on how to work around the device and tried a few stuff but didn't accomplish anything.
i'm a little bit more familiar with all the related terms (hboot, fastboot etc..) but still have no idea what should i do.
my target is just to get the phone alive, i don't care which rom right now, first we'll make it raise and go on from there
the current state of the device is as follows:
stuck at htc welcome screen.
able to reach fastboot + 4ext
at fastboot it says:
***UNLOCKED***
shooter_U pvt ship S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.49.0011
eMMC-boot
Aug 1 2011
so what would you suggest me? thanks in advance
edit: solved with this:

ok so i have an htc one on att and i had a sysem uid problem, so i wiped everything icluding the internal storage. now there is no OS installed and i have a mac and htc file transfer wont pick up the phone in recovery mode. how do i install the stock sense rom and put it back on my phone? try to answer immediately cuz i need this for tomorrow
You need to get the proper drivers installed to sideload a new rom or push it to internal sd
My best advice would be to drop the mac for linux or even windows, but that's a different story...

If you don't have access to a windows PC, you'll probably have to do it similar to this way - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26435416 (Download the RUU for your device).

except it doesnt have mac on there and it says to turn fastboot off in settings using the os and i cant. anything else?
Can't you copy/paste the stock rom into the device and boot it up to install? In my huawei I think I can do it with the special "pink screen" (turning on my phone while pressing both volume up and down ). If I have a "dload" folder in the root directory with the stock rom inside, when booting to pink screen it will automatically start the installation..

Just find the right RUU for your device and execute it (Let it extract the files and go to your temp folder / Don't close the application).
For example if you are using Win7/Win8:
Go to C:\Users\{your username}\AppData\Local\Temp\
You will see some folder(s) with a name like this or similar with an other folder inside it with similar name (path example):
C:\Users\{your username}\AppData\Local\Temp\{487C5E56-F40F-49D7-A913-522D1A257374}\{50F2F878-636A-496F-A7CB-544C067E0C4B}
If you find the right one you will be able to find a file with name rom.zip.
just copy that to the root of your sdcard and rename it to {your MID namber / the 4 first characters}IMG.zip
For example for Incredible S should be PG32IMG.zip
The zip name with your MID number could be PL83IMG.zip (Probably for HTC One)
***Important***
If you want to find your MID number to rename the zip you should get your phone into hboot (by pressing Vol- and power button) and to enable fastboot mode (connect the usb cable to your computer).
Then give the command:
fastboot getvar mid ----> To get your Model ID number
fastboot getvar cid ----> To get your CID number (it could help you to find the right RUU for your device / If you have S-OFF and SuperCID you can Install any RUU but you should be carefull - If you choose some wrong RUU and you flash it you could brick your device as well)
***Attention***
Make sure you haven't sdcard into your phone if you have your XXXXIMG.zip inside because you won't be able to use fastboot option.
As long as you have the right zip with the right name in your sdcard reboot your phone into bootloader (while you have sdcard inside). It will start to scan your sdcard. If the zip has the right name your hboot will find the XXXXIMG.zip and it will tell you to update.Press VOL+ button to start the proccess (VOL- to abort).Wait until proccess is done.May it take a while...
(Don't put off your battery until the process is done and make sure it is at least 30% charged to proceed.)
If you need any help further we are here.
The problem with the above is the htc one does not have a removeable sd and the op's computer isn't recogonizing his phone, the first step is to get the phone and pc to communicate, after this, being the recovery is functional, just a full wipe and install of a proper rom via recovery will suffice, no need to flash an ruu or pcxxximg.zip
Just needs to load a rom to internal sd

Im glad I have an external sdcard.. When I got it was just with the thinking "I can expand storage", but apparently it has this great advantages as well.
In the HTC maybe you can boot into a special mode that makes the computer recognize the internal partitions and mount them as external drives..
Good luck.
You could use fastboot commands to restore official rom to your device without the need of sdcard. You just need to extract the rom.zip from RUU.exe.
Here is a guide how to extract an RUU on linux and mac:
OpenRUU for Linux & Mac - NEW! Extract rom.zip from any RUU!
**You need wine to run windows executable files (.exe) under linux and mac OS.**
If you have the rom.zip you can flash it using fastboot commands:
fastboot oem rebootRUU ---> Get your phone into RUU mode.
fastboot flash zip rom.zip ---> Flash the rom.zip you extracted before.
fastboot reboot ---> Run this command when the flashing is finished.
The proccess should has been done now!

Yes using fastboot is helpful, but in this case again, the op needs to get his phone and pc to communicate first before doing anything. And applying an ruu is overkill,
Get phone to connect to pc
Load proper rom on phone internal sd
Wipe clean through recovery
Flash rom (and gapps if needed)
Reboot
Profit
