I have looked on Google and through this forum but cannot find an answer to this question. I apologise if I have missed it! I got my shiny new dock for my Prime yesterday and want to use the keyboard to play GTA 3 (I do not have a controller yet). The only controls on the keyboard that appear to be working are the arrow keys for movement. How do I assign keys to the other actions? I am sure that I am missing something really obvious here... Thanks!
I have the same problem.. before latest update, keyboard works like on PC but right now is possible only change to android keyboard and use a number 1,2,3,4,5 + arrows..
I read somewherethat you could use a wireless xbox controller, is this correct? If so, how??

There's a post somewhere else on this site describing how to do it for the Prime. Apparently involves downloading an app... Still waiting for Gamestop to ship me my BT controller.

Hey everybody!
I just wanted to ask, if anybody else got a gametel controller and if you also had any problems with it.
Mine shipped in this morning, so I tried it out - now here is some information first on what you might not know about it so far (and what I have found out over the last couple hours)
Pairing is really easy, once you turned it on, the gametel app finds the controller, connects, and asks you to change your inpud method. That is all there is to do
There are 5 options on how to use the controller
1) as a xperia play2) as an android controller (whatever that is supposed to mean, still have not figured it out)3) with just letters from a to l4) with just letters from m to x5) with just numbers
Now what everybody in the reviews said, was that essentially you could use the controller with any app, that supports keypad input or works with the xperia play. Which is exactly my problem, so far that did not work for me at all! I have tried it with all 5 different kinds of gameboy emulator apps and have gotten some response, but it never worked, because the controlles were recognised as the standart android buttons like search, or just marked as unknown and even if they were recognised as letters, they still wouldn't work in the games.
I do not know, if I just did something wrong, or if those apps just didn't work with it.
Ps: I am sorry for any mispellings and wrong section or anything like that. After all it is my first thread
something I forgot,
when I choose to set the controlles as numbers or letters and then just write somewhere - the correct letters/numbers do appear, so I guess it is the apps fault, that it doesn't work for me. Anyway gonna keep trying.
Having problems with this...On emulation is get stuck in one direction. You having the same problems?
Well, I don't have one, but it's essentially a Bluetooth keyboard. "Android controller" sounds like they expect some games/apps to support it natively and you would use that.
In Xperia Play mode, I imagine it just sends the same signals the Xperia Play does (or rather, the app does). If the emulator supports Xperia Play, it should work.
I just found the Gametel on Amazon for $50. Is that what you paid? Because you can get a genuine Sony PS3 controller in black for $40 (Newegg) and use that with the $2 Sixaxis app, and it works with the PS3, and your computer if it has Bluetooth. Or if you know your phone supports it, you can get a USB On The Go cable for under a buck on Amazon and then use any wired USB controller, including the wired Xbox 360 controller ($30 shipped on Amazon, also black). Much less if you're a console gamer and already have either controller.

You can get it on ebay. I am sure they ship to where you live.
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has found a solution to xaboren's issue with the Gametel. I just received mine yesterday and am having the exact same issue. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Russ
In many emulators you need to activate "InputMethod". For all the emulators developed by Yongzh (Snesoid, N64oid, Gameboid, etc) go to "Settings" -> "Other Settings" and tick the "Use input method" box.
Please also note that Gametel works like a software keyboard, so you should NOT use anything called "Bluetooth Gamepad":
In Yongzh emulators you should use "Input settings" -> "Key mappings".
In the FPse case you setup the keys in "Gamepad" -> "Assign HW buttons".
/Andreas

before i updated the firmware it all worked fine but now the keymappings foy the bottom and right buttons dont work with the snesdroid emulator and i have no idea what else i could keymap them to (before, game pad x and y worked perfectkly but now they have no response)

How would I revert it back to OOTB firmware?
Good evening, ladies and gents of XDA! I'm new to the forums so please forgive me if I'm crossing some lines. I've attempted to look for a similar problem not only on XDA, but through Google as well, but have turned up with no luck. Without further adieu, this is the issue I'm having:
I've read that the Transformer Prime natively supports the Wireless XBox 360 controller. Unfortunately for me, this does not seem to be the case. The buttons do work as I can navigate through the menu with my joystick and the green ring around the menu button flashes (which I'm told is also supposed to happen unless I have the Joystick Center 5 app).
Despite my tablet being able to read my controller, the button mappings are all out of whack. I tried playing OnLive with it and none of the buttons aside for the joystick does what it's supposed to do. I've tried restarting my tablet, but this was met with no avail. I've even purchased the aforementioned Joystick app, but remapping the buttons was unsuccessful. Does anyone know why this "native support" isn't kicking in for me?
I had the same problem, Android supports the controller but most of the games seem not to. I had the official 360 wireless controller with the official wireless receiver, and could only use it for navigating homescreens, icon by icon. Couldn't even go to the next homescreen without first highlighting everything along the way
PS3 one works perfectly on the 2 games I have that I know about them using the controller: GTA3 and Shadowgun.

Hey please can you give me some information on how the wireless controller works?
I was thinkin about buying a wireless controller like logitech F710 or whichever works...but I don't know what else I need. Please can you give me details of what I need and how to Install it to the Asus Transformer Prime...thank you.
Right I have been using the tf201 for about 4 months now I love it to bits! Theres some things that get annoying with it but I believe theres nothing like it. Recently I stumbled across some games that I feel can easily be played better with a keyboard(and a controller which i figured out).
What I am wondering here is how could I play the games I want using the keyboard eg, a racing game which would use arrow keys.. is there an app for mapping the keys on the keyboard is there a tutorial link to such an app?
All support is welcome
Thanx for your patience
Try sixaxis. Not only does it let you pair your PS3 controller, set custom scren inputs per each button, but it also lets you use keyboard inputs in place of game controllers. Its a paid app but well worth the money.

Hello!
I am using a ps3 controller on my Transformer prime with no root. I've got a problem though. When i try to map the keys in the individual emulators they dont spot any difference if i pull the analog stick to the right or press the navigation button to the right. Both registers as DPAD-Right.
Will the app "USB/BT Joystick Center 6" solve the problem? I dont want to pay for something i don't really need.
I dont think it will work using it as a 'Native Controller' & without root. You would need to use the Sixaxis Controller App. Well worth the money!

Thanks for the answer. I've been sitting plundering if i should root it or not. Guess i should now ^^
First time rooting, guessing there is a sticky i can sneak peak at
Do you know if it is a true analog stick then? Right now it only acts as an DPAD, meaning i cant walk in different phases in Mari 64 for example.
Yup, its true analogue Its Top! I used Debugfs automated root to root my prime.
There are plenty of examples on Youtube of it being used with emulators

Thanks, rooted yesterday using that actually!
I've got some problem getting the hardware keys working with a emulator and sixaxis controller. All i got really working is the touch interface :/ Basically i can map the keys in the emulator according to sixaxis new hardware keys but it doesn't detect when i push them.
Hey all,
I have an Asus TF300t running a CM10 nightly and Logitech Gamepad F310. The Logitech Gamepads are supposed to work, but I am having issues with mine. Games like Shadowgun and Deadtrigger detect the controller but my character spins around in a circle. And when I go to customize the controls within the game when i select an action to set to a key it automatically puts in joystick 3+ or something like that. my roommate has the same controller and his does the same thing on my tablet. Is it a bad driver or is it not supposed to work to begin with or am I doing something wrong?
EDIT 10/22/12: I flashed Hydro 4.1 JB using the guide and now my controller seems to work fine
I have the exact same problem with a Xbox360 wireless controller (using a non-official PC-USB adapter)
Shucks. Are you running CM10 as well or stock?
Plain stock JB, latest Spanish version.

Oh... the tablet is not mine and I want to keep official versions, so it looks I won't be able to play any game with my 360 controller by now :crying:
Anyway, if that's a common problem, I wonder why people ain't complaning more in the forums.
Ok, i have read many post and know that i am able to play some games using xbox controller. So do i just plug the controller to the usb dock and use or i need to install some app or roms to enable it?
I am rooted but in stock.

You have just to plug it by USB, and it should work in any game with controller support. You can also use it to navigate trough the desktop and launch apps.
I have TF300T and when it was on ICS, it worked with PS3 controller (via USB) flawlessly, but now with JB, it doesn't work whatsoever. Anyone else having this issue?
You tried Sixaxis controller app?
If u already use it go to prefrence -> Gamepad Settings -> Check Enable Gamepad
