Currently running the rooted OEM 2.08.651.3, got a popup that an update was available...
I wonder if this version has anything different in it?

read that thread there btw. esp if you have one the older HBoots b/c that means you get your updates usually through here.
just read the thread to get updated there.

No, I meant like anything different from the manually fetched version and the pushed version that I got.

Right, I just wanted to make sure it didn't have anything new in it that wasn't included in the manual update last week.
you should always accept updates pushed to your phone. especially when you are rooted.

Lol if your on hboot 1.5 you gotta go stock to accept a update never take a update while rooted . Check on xda first also never ever ever take a firmware update..... Unless a dev has a copy for folks... Taking updates can bork things or lock ya up

And this is the correct section. This post has to do with android software
Literally everything on this site has to do with software. This is better suited for general or possibly question&answers.
Anyway, Verizon has more Android phones sold then Sprint, they can't spread it thin.
Ok cool thanks for not being mean lol
I haven't cared about official updates from Verizon since rooting. My phone with KaosFroyo runs better now than it ever did with official firmware.

I was just going to post a thread about this... I saw a member on AC that said there is already an update out.. Curious to see what it is and what it does (like close up some holes that some devs may have found...??
This makes me want to wait before activating it just to be on the safe side (I'm over cautious about OTA updates)
edit-- just saw 3 of us posted at the same time... seems like a harmless update =)
Please do, that file seems big just for a calendar update.
It's a calendar bug-fix. The link has already been posted for it on one of these threads.
Edit: Wow lots of people on the forum right now lol
It seems to have a new hboot 1.40, can you post a pic of the new hboot screen?

If it unlocks (doubtful but hoping!!) hboot awesome, but at the same time does it close even more holes that could be exploited?
I'm leaning towards caution and wait before doing anything until the kick ass dev community can rip into it and see what's up
Hey I just got my evo3d GSM and I heard there will be no official Jeally Bean for it. Is that true ??
Sorry If I post in wrong thread.
NOW verizon made a comment in one of the replies, they won't unlock due to software clitches on the phone. Do you think MAYBE? after the update they MIGHT? let unlock again.Just a little food for thought??
I hope your right, maybe that's the reason for a newer hboot with this update
Can you attach the response? Copy pasta?

At least VZW has finally given some sort of explanation instead of the non-response we've been getting. I hope HTCdev unlock comes along with it.

Got it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30887584&postcount=38
Its a super old post though. It could mean that this upcoming update will in turn allow htcdev again, but then again it could mean absolutely nothing. Time will tell I suppose.

Well, you never know what they'll do, they might base it on the amount of installed updates too, never know!!
Has anyone got the update notification yet? I can't wait, hopefully it will be released soon.

Please check this link to see when it will start being pushed:
http://www.htc.com/us/go/htc-software-updates/
As of this post, it is still in "Certification". No-one will receive the update until it changes to "Push to Customer".
I had no idea that HTC has a website for update status.
There has been a delay we were supposed to have the update pushed today, but of course carriers are cooking bloatware on the update so it was been delayed for at least 2 weeks more

One to two weeks per HTC US CEO....

That link is useless. Sprint has made the update available as of today and the page shows no change. Hopefully T-Mobile will follow soon enough.

Page does reflect the change now. Probably doesn't update but every so often especially since its the carrier pushing the OTA. Someone in the sprint forum said a friend with TMO was getting the update as well about 20 minutes ago.

I am not a fan of T-Mobile bloating stuff more than other carriers and they are far too slow. I might buy a dev edition phone next time by.

If you're S_Off/unlocked just convert it to Dev, International, or GPe. Problem solved.
Can't wait for the OTA zip to get posted. (Will post if I get the update, obviously...)

I would, but my phone craps out far too often. I think I will wait for the OTA to be available, but I do know I will probably a dev edition or something with wifi calling without bloat, but thanks for the suggestion.
fwiw: http://www.htc.com/us/go/htc-software-updates/ is now updated with Sprint, "Complete."
I've heard rumor that some folks on T-Mob have gotten the update, but no-one has been able to verify or provide proof as of yet, and the update site has not been updated to reflect it if it is true.

Can already flash venom ROM with no modifications needed to boot.
Also no that link is for US DEV Unlocked firmware which will prob turn into the custom thing, in layman's terms.
Also I was just busting yah, as this thread will be the same as others.
It's going to be interesting because twrp isn't working. I imagine it's do to the new way nougat is partitioned
