So, I bought this slide screen protector last week for two dollars from ebay and I thought it was too good to be true but they are actually great, here is the link if you want it:http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-XtremeGUARD-HTC-MYTOUCH-SLIDE-3G-Screen-Protector-/230487883667?cmd=ViewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item35aa25ff93#ht_2384wt_1137 I cant even tell I have it on! make sure you follow the directions!!
i was going to make this same thread whenever i bought mine lol, these screen protectors are perfect, and easy to do, i literally used one hand to do it(i recently got a bad cut on my other hand)
2 dollars is to cheap not to try just bought one now im excited hopefully will work good already got a little scratch on the side of my screen
Ordered one. Thanks!

For sure ordered one. $2 is worth it no matter what. thanks for the post.
Sweet! I've been waiting for BSE to come out with theirs but so much for that. Thanks for sharing.
are these the stupid protectors that tell you to install them with water? I ordered a set of 3 protectors off amazon for 2 bucks because they were the only ones available when the phone first came out and they all ended up in the trash within two days. I have ordered cheap protectors for my G1 and you just have to clean the screen and put the protectors on and it comes out perfect. Also I notice a lot of the new protectors are made of some rubbery stretchy material and not plastic like the ones I am use to.
Why not read the description and FAQ's in the link before you make a judgment. If you don't like it, return for a refund. Yes you use A LITTLE soapy water but as long as you don't drown your slide you should be good. After two weeks, this thing is still looking new .
Just ordered, hope its as good as you say =P
So far so good. There appears to be some slight distortion, I hope that it will clear up as the moisture evaporates and the protector adheres to the screen. Not sure if it is just a mental thing, but screen actually seems to be a bit more precise with this rather than the regular screen protector.

Mine came in today and I usually hate putting these things on but it was pretty painless. Im waiting for all the moisture to dry though. Ill have a better review of it in a few days.
Just wanted to update. The distortion cleared up within a few hours. Now that the bubbles are gone (took a couple days) it is crystal clear. Overall, I am very impressed. It was $2 well spent.

Got mine in today. Everything looked cool until I put it on. That's when I noticed a piece of lint or something stuck just near the right edge. Couldn't get it off for the life of me. Sucks. Gonna order another one. Good thing these are only $2.
I got thr same screen protector and it is just as good as any high dollar one. Worth the $2
This thing is awesome! It really looks nice I am very impressed, for $2 its one of the best investments out there for your phone.
I did have distortion the the first day but it cleared up to be crystal clear. Ordering another for my g/f tonight.
Edit: Just wanted to say that this protector does not leave smudges or finger prints at all. Had a protector on my HD2 and I still had aton of smudges and finger prints even with the protector.

It took about 4 days for mine to arrive. Its coming from Utah so it shouldn't take that long.
Ordered it on a Sunday night and it came in the following Saturday.
They ship it in a regular envelope, so delivery times arent guaranteed.
Just wondering, from what part of the phone to what part does this cover? I mean like, from just above the buttons to the end of the black outline on the phone? or just strictly the parts you touch the screen?
My sgs 3 has a small cracks in it, on the top right near the camera and it's really just annoying me and I want to get it fixed. I just want to know my best screen repair options, I know it's going to expensive , but what's the the best?

There's a seller on ebay selling just the glass for the white model for $26.68. If your digitizer and screen are ok, this is by far your best bet. Even if your phone isn't white and you want to stick with blue, you'd be better off switching the rear cover to white and selling it as a white model. And buy another blue one.
Full screen assembly is $230, which is close to what Samsung charges to replace it.
How high was the drop? Did you have a case on it? Just curious questions...since this phone seems to be fragile due to the large screen.
When I called samsung they said they didn't have a price for the repairs, how did you find out how much they charge?
And also the fall was kinda far onto cement. I was getting out of the car to put gas in and the phone was in my lap and it fell.
Also i had a case on it. The ROCK cases btw i love the look of the case but the screen cracked directly where the case didn't cover the phone which was the top
Someone in the US with an international phone cracked theirs and sent it in.
I was just wondering cause a repair guy in San Diego said it wasnt possible. I watch a guy do it for the s3. I have insurance and replaced my phone already but want to fix the broken one because it still has a clean esn. Thanks

If you filed an insurance claim the imei is not clean anymore. Having said that people said you couldn't do it on the s3 either and several did following that video. Give it a shot since you really have nothing to lose.

Which video did you use? I found the one by Le550ns and I was going to use that. What screen replacement kit did you get? Was it pretty straightforward? The disassembly doesn't look too hard, I'm just afraid that there will be air bubbles when I put it all back together.
Got one glass off of ebay for n7100 about 30. Im just waiting in the adhesive. I used the same disassembly by lessons on you tube but the inside was a little different due to the radios. Did you order the adhesive yet. Just a tip use plastice so you dont scratch the screen.

Do you have pictures that you took off gradually touch screen digitizer (glass)?
What do you all use to prevent damage to the LCD?
I actually didnt take pics because it was the same as the youtube video for the s3 but I used tweezers that were metal instead of the plastic knife. Word to the wise use the plastic knife it wont damage the lcd. If you heat the optical adhesive to the right temp. Just make sure you get it hot enough and it will melt like butter. I scratched mine a little but you cant tell when the screen is on. The problem most will have is locating the clear optical adhesive with out buying in bulk. Like I said I convinced a locale repair shop to order them bulk from Hong Kong if I showed him how I did it. So he can turn a bigger profit with out buying the 270 dollar part. Good luck and take your time took me an hour to get all off and reassembled with out the glass. I'm still waiting on the tape. The repair shop should get ot some time this week I hope.

Did you have any issues with dust landing on the screen? You do have me confused when you say LCD though. The screen is OLED.
The local shop put a bulk order in for this part clear optical adhesive. When he gets them in I'll let everyone know. I havent attached the glass yet. Thats why I put the title as half done. Best bet is to run hot water in the shower to clear that room of dust. Then clean screen and attach.

Hey guys. I have tried this already as I broke my glass screen the day after I got my Gnote2. I ordered everything from E-trade Supply International including the Glass replacement and the optical double sided tape. I had no problems removing the broken glass from the LCD by using a good heat gun, wear gloves as this gets very hot, I went with the E-Trade video on You tube, However this is where the easy process ended. I had a impossible time applying the double sided optical tape. It is extremely high adhesive and I could not get it on without bubbles or wrinkles in it, also anything used to press it on other that a rubber stamp style roller would cause marks and is visible in the end. I thought I was smart as I ordered two of every part needed including the glass and tape, just in case, well after two attempts with the optical tape I still had problems applying it without visible marks. Maybe its just me and not so steady hands or frustration. Either way I ended up filing a claim with Asurion and getting a replacement, Still have the old one as I said it was lost. Any one perfecting this let me know I would be willing to pay to have the original Note2 repaired as I'm well invested in it now. I have the replacement parts. Im in Huntington Beach SoCal ,
I was able to order the glass and an adhesive strip for the edges of the GNote2 (after having cracked my glass). The adhesive strip is good because the glass is held firmly, but the middle "adhesive" is no longer necessary in case additional repairs are warrented later.
As for the repair itself: I did the process as shown on many videos, and was able to remove the old glass, but in the process I overheated the bottom of the AMOLED/digitizer assembly (under the glass) near the home button in the middle. As a result, I now have a yellow tinge to the bottom of the screen (maybe 1/2" in height and 2-3 inches across), but the digitizer still functions properly. This is a very delicate procedure. Another result of having replaced my glass is that my radios seem to be noisy and I burn through battery, even with the screen off. I suspect this is because the radio(s) is(are) noisy and the 4gLTE is constantly trying to acquire signal. This conclusion is due to the fact that even WiFi will only operate if I am right next to the router. Otherwise, I can see the router with the phone, but the phone will not authenticate unless I am directly next to the router, and as I move away from the router, the operating speed decreases quickly.
In any case, be careful doing this repair yourself. I think it can be done, but it is highly delicate and requires significant patience.
Cheers,
B.D.

I just got my Z Ultra GPE. I have the incipio dualshine case for it but the included screen protector is not very good and I ended up with a pretty poor application. I ordered a glass protector from Glass-M but it won't be here for a couple weeks. Do you guys think I can get by without a protector without scratches until the glass comes? I only really put it in my pocket. One edge of the protector I have didn't adhere properly and I'm afraid fuzz/dirt will get under and scratch it. Other option is to just use my S4 until I get the better protector.
I've had my Ultra since september and i don't have a single (noticeable) scratch on the front (i'm not using any additional protection). You'll be fine, but accidents happen, so it's not possibble to tell if yours will be scratch free in a few weeks. I do have a couple of scratches on the back though, but i couldn't care less.

@hamdogg mentioned an easy way to apply the protector, use water - added bones is the phone is waterproff
you should be able to remove and reapply the protector.
I've used mine since September with no case or added protection. Like @LordManhattan no scratches or wear at all. Dropped it a couple of times without issue.
Worth adding I dont use a stylus or pencil or anything other than fingers, pretty sure that would degrade the film pretty quick.

I can't see scratches on mine when I am using it. But turn of the screen and swing the phone side to side until the light hits it just right and I see all kinds of fine scratches. How easy is it to scratch? I'd say very easy. And it's not just fine scratches that plague this phone but also the fading of the oleophobic coating. You'll notice the part of the screen where you constantly touch gets rougher compared to the rest of the screen. In the end I'm just waiting for mine to scratch to the point where I will have to remove the ASF.
ಠ_ಠ
On mobile....
Ok thank you all for the feedback. I decided to just use it. If it's something that will scratch in 2 weeks of light use and no accidents I'd just assume return it.
Can anyone share how zu will look like if you remove the asf.....if the sony logo is not their.... It will be a little weird......

You are correct, the Sont logo will be gone on the front, but the Sony and Xperia logos on the back will still be there. Weird? There are several phones out there without any branding on the front (iPhone *cough*), so i can't see why it's weird, but you have your own opinion of course

Well it will be look premium if the logo can be seen on the front.....i put a cover on the back so people dont know what my phone model is.....sometimes people mistaken for Chinese model because no model and Chinese manufacturer often make cheap big phone.....my asf got scratch and i eager to take it off...but the remove of the logo and some people said that the screen is not that great to feel is what holding me back.....the aftermarket screen protector is not take full of the screen and their is a cut on the led and sensors..... Even for clear one...so i dont like it a little....i prefer not to use any at all but just the screen but what bad review of the glass....make me scared...... :-/

Really not sure what to think
I really dont know what to think of it i wanted to buy the z ultra (the normal one..not google play edition because i cant get it in germany)
and the only thing that holds me back is..i can live with a not so well camery..i only take a few photos but i wouldnt be able to live with a device that just takes every single little fingerprint and scratches easily some people say it scratches easily ..some dont i wouldnt use anything else then my fingers to operate it..and carry it safely in my handbag
is it acceptable or really that bad? else i will probably go with a note 3 or a nexus 5 + nexus 7..so i have a small device on the go and a nexus 7 for watching streams/videos at home
I've got some scratches in the middle of my screen from one mistake placement in the same pocket as my keys. Surprised since the screen is supposed to be fairly resilient, I'll be looking into a protector shortly.
that kinda scares me x.x even if i would never put the device next to my keys..it will be most likely in that power cas einside my handbag x.x

You didn't scratch the screen. You scratched the anti shatter film. It's still annoying though, so yeah, you should probably get a second protector, or just remove the ASF and go naked (it's glass after all, so it won't actually scratch unless you're really unlucky) or put the new third party protector on the glass. One protector is bad enough (how it feels to touch), so i can't imagine using two
I ordered 2 devices, one with dual screen, one without (I think the white is gorgeous and no white dual screen, so didn't bother). However, the dual screen one will be more for home use. So when the phones are "out and about" what case options are there? I have googled, Amazon, eBay, Walmart, but really only found clear rubber, which I already know from experience will discolor over time. How long til we get viable options for cases with such a new phone? I for sure need cases since these glass phones like to get up off surfaces. What's everyone else looking at?

That is true. I'll keep that one in mind. Ebay is full of ones from China. Um not in this climate right now lol. But before I can even start using the phones, I gotta have some sort of protection lol
So I ordered this case so I would have something to put on it until my dual screen case arrives. It was the only one that could be here this weekend. Agreed, that's why I'm going clear and it'll be here Sunday. But I did find another on Amazon (July delivery so not ordering now) that is that glitter movement one. Clear with silver glittery hearts. Think when this country gets back to normal I'll order that, I just need protection before I start using it. That thing is heavy! Nice! I wrote IQ Shield to see if/when they have plans to release protectors for this device. "at this time we don't know if we'll release protection for this device" well boo on you IQ Shield. I've had them on every device since they went full curved screens (back to what, the V20? Altho that curve wasn't as severe as these latest devices, still a flat protector refused to stick) and actually dropped my G8 down a set of three concrete steps. Protector took every ding, and screen still flawless. Slap another one on and done. Glass protector would have shattered first step and screen on second and third lol

Tired out the new case. The side leave a gap between the glass protector. I might stick to the TPU case until something better.
Also. There's no 4 corners to protect the camera.

I thought about waiting for the case, but just couldn't do it. I have never used a phone without a case, so it does feel kind of wierd, but I'll manage till Sunday, then the longer wait starts on the dual screen case. Why couldn't ATT bundle it with the phone like T-Mob? Ugh
I used to house my LG phones in cases made by TetDed. They are really just thin, molded shells covered with soft and grippy dead cow skin (real leather). Sadly, they didn't make a case for the G8 (either of them). I have emailed trying to convince them to make some for the V60.

I used to use encased hard shells on my phone, slide in and clip to hold together. Then when I got the G8, they didn't make one for it, and this V60 is so new that there aren't alot of options yet. Not even an Otterbox defender!

Tired out the new case. The side leave a gap between the glass protector. I might stick to the TPU case until something better.
Also. There's no 4 corners to protect the camera.

Got the case today, and must say I like it. Fits snug and has a good feel. I was expecting far less!
