Internal phone storage wiped after rooting - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I have just recently rooted my Atrix MB860 using this tool -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1255548 . After successfully rooting, (superuser installed) my internal phone storage was wiped for no reason. Most of my apps and data were gone. What went wrong? Thanks in advance.
P.S. I am not a Motorola guy, so I know nothing much about Motorola. I only know about HTC.

[Q] Safe to format internal SD?

Heya,
Just making sure that its safe to do? I was planning on formatting the INTERNAL SD using android itself (un-mounting then formatting) then SBF flashing and starting fresh..
Just thought I'd ask someone smart before doing things just to make sure I'm not making an idiotic mistake.
Thanks,
- DarkRyoushii
I don't recall on which of the Atrix forums but it seems like the title of the thread was something to do with touch screen problems. If I recall correctly, the touch screen will not work correctly if the internal sd card is formatted. And I don't think a fix has been figured out.
Well it must have been with cwm recovery because I formatted with android and it worked out fine. Thanks for the warning though

Hey Dark just wondering if you had to sbf flash after formatting the internal memory, or does the phone work without any issues after formatting??
Hey I would assume it worked without issues however I formatted the internal storage while in android, remounted it without issues and had it working without issues but then turned the phone off and SBF flashed back to stock (as I was planning too originally and wanted to format the SD card to remove the app data before SBF flashing)
I assume it would have kept working without issues but would have deleted my app data such as save games, pictures, music and login info for apps like xda
Thanks. Ya no problems.
The touch screen problem was due to partitioning the internal sd... and unfortunately no one knows how to fix it. Im still screwed.

[Q] Can't Unmount Internal Storage?

I have had an intermittent (and now present) problem on 1.26, 1.57 and now 1.83 (with and without my gladiatrix p-ROM).
I cannot get the internal phone storage to unmount(!) I have tried the usual method with "USB Connection/USB Mass Storage" - the external card unmounts but the internal does not - and the internal storage cycles between "unavailable" to the amount of storage free about every 30 seconds. All the drivers are properly installed.
I've tried "Unmount the internal phone storage" from within settings/SD Card... - a message says it is unmounting but it never does.
I've done multiple reboots (this used to help but doesn't anymore).
When I change the USB connection to "Motorola Phone Portal" or "Windows Media Sync" - they are both seemingly able to access the internal phone storage and all drivers install successfully.
My real goal is both to backup the internal phone storage but also to use Documents To Go (for which synchronization seems to get harder and worse with every new version) which can only access the internal phone storage.
Something seems corrupted - does anyone have a similar problem or any suggestions?
I know this thread is super old, sorry about that, but I have this same issue and it just started today. Anyone have a solution for this?
I started this thread and went back to a clean 183 cwm and that didn't help. Given the rarity of the problem I'm beginning to think hardware more than software?
I had this problem too and what I did was to reboot my atrix and as soon as it would let me in the options to unmount I did and it let me...then I reformatted it .

I tried automount and another market app i found called SD mount (or something like that) and neither worked for me. I can easily mount the external SD but the internal SD/storage remains inaccessible except using root explorer on the phone itself. Maybe I'll finally RSD to the 2.3.4 release (I'm on a themed 1.83 right now) and this will go away, but I'm beginning to think it won't.
I bit the bullet, unlocked the bootloader, installed the pudding 1.83 then upgraded to a GB based build. Right after the SBF load the internal storage would unmount fine. Definitely some sort of odd corruption that is not hardware related. I don't know if this helps anyone else with this problem since an SBF and a clean rebuild is a PITA.

Can't install anything after root?

Hello. I have a Hipstreet Flare HS-9DTB4-8GB tablet. I used z4root (stupid me) to root my android. I rebooted the tablet, and I thought it was rooted. Nothing wrong. So I go to install my apps again and I get a message saying that my internal storage is full? I went and checked my storage and it said I had 0.00B left? So I can't install z4root again to un root. Please help D:

[Q] HUGE MISTAKE. Erased int sd-card

So my sister, who owns a s3 complained about lag so I told her I could make it better by installing cyanogenmod. I installed recovery and everything, factory reset from cwm and then flashed. It installed well. But now her whole internal sd card got erased by the factory reset (including the backup I made). I had no idea this was gonna happen as I myself dont own a s3. She is really pissed off at me cause she had a really really really important recording in her internal sdcard. Now my question is. Can I use a windows software tool to restore her internal sdcard (like you can on harddrives) or will that mess up the system partition??
Need expert help. Thank you so much, sincerely
You can try Undelete app or any other. It would help

Recover App Data From Formatted Phone

Hello,
So, I was rooting my dads phone (HTC Desire 610). I had to unlock the bootloader which wiped the entire phone. He uses this phone for business so I need to get as much info back as possible. I had the internal storage backed up so that's not a problem, but how can I recover the app data partition. Anyone?
Thanks in advance!
