thanks buddy,ur link help me lot..
weird that i heard LG Optimus comes with "with google" slogan.....
Did anyone get Market to get working on the LG Optimus P503 yet? I have this problem on my son's phone now, any info will be appreciated. Has anyone tried Market Enabler?
Thanks in advance!
i also bought a p503 here in Turkey, it is just annoying not to be able to log on ANDROID MARKET. I read the suggested thread regarding flashing the ROM. Hovewer, it is a bit too risky here in Turkey cause it breaks the warry terms.
Can anyone simply suggest another way to activate th ANDROID MARKET?
thans by now
I learned the hard way that access to the Market or to specific apps from the Market are not phone related, but location related.
Yeah, try imagining my surprise when every single internet site said I can download and install Google StreetView from the Market, yet the damn application was nowhere to be found. So there I was, searching for the application using my computer when I found the Google Market site accessible from PC. It asked me to authenticate using my Google account - so they knew who I am, where I live, what type of phone I have and what mobile operator I use. Therefore, when I found the StreetView app, the download button was inactive because "this application is not available for your provider" or something like that. Whaaaat? Yet, when I finally found the .apk somewhere and installed it from sdcard, the app worked perfectly.
So Google restricted my access to that specific application. As it does to ALL the paid versions of the Market applications because there's no way yet to pay for them here in Romania. Therefore I have reasons to believe that your access to the Market is entirely forbidden because of where you live or because of your mobile carrier and another ROM may not make any difference.
I really, really hope I am wrong.
You can try root + market enabler, it is a solution.
How about just pushing the Market APK to your phone? If your phone has a browser, you should be able to do a quick search at 4shared: http://search.4shared.com/q/1/vending apk just choose the newest one, download and install

After moving to 351 update (15609)
my apps were washed away. (thats ok, as I had too many apps installed anyway!)
Now, I have apks of all the softwares I had before, and which were useful.
Some are paid ones, of which I do not have the installer apks
For the free apps, which I installed without logging on to market, I am not able to see any update menu!
and they are not showing up in My apps (part in market) either.
-the "market" app has changed too (from what it was before.)
Help please.
Thanks,
Sony.
Another issue!
I see some notifications stick around a lot longer! (irritating!)
"Battery full Please remove charger" stays on for like 15 seconds.
Bluetooth voice dialing works well,
Wifi works with much better success rate of connecting!
MODs: Please rename thread as "Problems with 351 (15609)" or something similar.
Sony.
Note: I have already tried the Clear Cache solution.
_________
Damn: I tried to "Uninstall Updates for Market" in applications menu.
and now, the Market looks primitive!
whats wrong here!?
By uninstalling the market updates you went back to the oldest version of the market.
I can't help you with the apps, but it sounds as if you might need to flash your phone again.
Now new thing!
Today the phone got stuck at the lock screen (long time!)
then I restarted it through Power button long press.
Then the Dell logo kept coming again and again.. and it didnt boot~!
So, I removed the battery cover, and rebooted. then it was fine! (yikes)
I am on stock, no roots, no nothing yet!
Even the default update can cause problems?(Oh, I had not rebooted the phone since 2 days.. but I have gone longer before.. without the phone getting any slower!)
One thing is definitely mentionable though,
The battery life has been exceptional!!
Full charge in the morning (6 am - unplugged)
And, decent browsing (FB + gmail) + 40-50 mins of calls + games for 30-40 mins
and by 7 pm I still have 68% battery
That has been the case for past two days (since I upgraded 318 to 351)
@Strephon Alkhalikoi
you suggest, I flash the phone again?
hmm. Ok, will try that if nothing else works.
Any other suggestions on the table?
One more thing
I had used the Dell Backup and Restore > and used system settings restore too (in the options)
Just thought of putting it, as thats the only thing thats between the flash and the current problem. << (any relation?)
Help appreciated!
Sony
Re-flashed!
WEll,
i am officially going nuts!
I flashed the 351 update again.
everything nice and sweet..
But, hey!
Market is still behaving crazy!!
and App brain or anythin is also unable to do any good!
Guys! Please help!!
The Market is not showing apps, which I install off my SD card apks!!
whats wrong!?
Bonkers,
Sony
Anybody, yet?
Hey guys,
anybody ever faced such a problem?
Anybody know any solution ( that I havent mentioned in above posts? ).
Highly appreciate the help!
Sony.
When you install apks, they won't show in the market. You'll need to use an illegitimate market to show all installed apks (search google).

I did search google extensively!
My method of installing has a name: sideloading, (right?)
and, I see, that it 'does' show in the market for other guys!
and, Google search shows this as a sync-market issue!
people have some work arounds and all, but none is sure shot way of doing that.
I am looking for a solution.
Thanks,
Sony.
Are your free apps not showing up as installed either...
If you are using pirated apps they normally won't show up as installed, much less allow you to update without paying for them through the market.
Any free apps you use, you shouldn't install them from the sd card, rather install them directly from the market....

none of the apps are showing up (free + paid)
No pirated ones. Paid ones (only 2 of them, but, even those arent showing up!!)
About installing free apps from market-
well, that is one solution. but,
my question is exactly the corollary of that!
Why are sideloaded apps not showing up, when they did just finely show up, when I was on 318 !!?
What happens when you guys 'sideload' any app?
Let me know.
Thanks!
Sony.
P.S. People are discussing it on market.google.com/discussions as a 'market-sync' issue! as stated in prev post of mine.
*Sigh!*
Since google released their web-based market interface, the definitive list of apps on your phone (as shown in the market app) comes from the list on the website, which is the list of apps that were downloaded and installed through the market.
If you sideload something, it doesn't appear on this list.
In the past, pre- the web interface to the market, the definitive list was generated by the market app by scanning your phone. Not any more.
The only way now to get the apps to appear in the market app as installed is to install them through the market app (or market website).
Best workaround I know of is to use appbrain's app market. The app in that still scans your phone for the list, and can check for updates, and then uses the standard market to install the updates, so from then on the app is listed in the standard market.
So, basically, to get the apps listed in your standard market app's list, don't sideload.
Now, I just learned of a market backup program that you could have used beforehand, but that doesn't help much now :s.

Welcome to the lucky few that have bought this wonderful machine.
I bought mine in usa, and got an american market. Ok, not much fuss about that, but when I got back home to Sweden it got transformed to Swedish version. All I had to do was change the language. Not sure if this helps much.
You can find a market.apk file on the XDA forums here but it sounds like it's locating you and making Chinese the default language. Try looking into settings in the market app or the tablet in general and turning off the "use my location" features which will probably override other settings...
Same thing..
Btw... the Chinese market called "HiMarket version 2"
any Idea
Did you try and change your locale or did you try and download the apk file and install it over te old one ?
might try this "location & security - My Locaton" uncheck all three.
"Language & input" change to another language, maybe uk if you have us and vice a versa.
"date & time" selecte a different timezone
Maybe this will help.

Where was it used first? It may be that it just remember the first use in china and maybe removing google account from sync in settings first, then clearing data from applicaations settings. Then adding google account again and starting market on a usa wifi will fix all for you. If it still goes not help try what happens if you start a weblink to a market app from somewhere here. It should give you an option to run via browser or market-see if that could be a workaround.

Have you concidered trying to do a reset/factory reset? See if that helps.
Yes, I did...
Could anyone upload an apk android market for me?
Any Idea How to solve this problem ?
I'm at work so can't access the site to find the direct link for you, but back in the day when the "new" market first came out, I got it off 4shared.
I hope this helps

New updated Market (11/01/2011). It's being pushed to some handsets.
Download:
Android Market 3.3.11
What's changed?
+++New setting: Auto-update apps (presumably, sets all apps to auto-update mode, woohoo!)
+++New setting: Update over Wi-Fi only
+++New setting: Auto-add shortcuts (automatically adds homescreen shortcuts for new apps, ala Honeycomb)
+++Smaller font
+++New app drawer icon
+++Microphone (voice command) button in search menu
+++Star rating chart on app pages
+++Minor UI tweaks

After installing the Market.apk I get a pop-up asking to add an account and either option just closes the Market. I tried going to the Android Market through the internet browser but whenever I try to download something it says I don't have an Android device connected to the Google account. I have also tried setting up my Google account through the email option in the tablet but it still says I have no Android device synced
How to solve this issue?
Any Idea??
Try manage applications > market >clear cache. then clear data.
then do the same for download manage, now that you have a diff market installed it might have crappy data lingering around.
---------- Post added at 04:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:38 AM ----------
OR if there is anything in applications such as account or accounts and sync, clear cache and data of that too!
OK so this information will probably not help you at all, but on the Milestone 2 forums, a member flashing a chinese leak gingerbread update reported that there were no google account menus, no market and had an alternate market called apps2you or something.. can't remember. Anyway, he said once he installed the market.apk it would only crash and do things like what you described. Unfortunately no-one in the thread responded about that issue.
I'm starting to think you may need to get on a different firmware...
---------- Post added at 06:24 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:21 AM ----------
Ok just found this article
Summary: You need root access to enable a proxy hack as a work around to access the english market
Alternative is using the Chinese market.
Hi
Hi i think i can answer your question, the answer is no, you cannot use any google service or software in your andriod system which bought in China, the reason is that because of the conflict between google and Chinese government, the Chinese government had decided to banned any google service running in China, those including google search, gmail, google map and all google service in andriod sysytem, so thats why you cannot install andriod Market in you tablet. Even you may find andriod market from somewhere, but you still cannot install it, because to install google software or service, you need rooting right to put the google service frame into the andriod system with system authority not application authority(e.g.you install a game). Thereofre before your tablet s1 root, you cannot use any google service on you tablet s1. Hope this help.
Hey, having the same problem, and pretty sure it's due to the government thing. I spoke to some helpline who said the only thing to do is live with it.
However, perfectly willing to root the thing, maybe even give it ICS update if possible?
The thing is, will the software be sufficiently similar for the same rooting technique to work? Or will it just screw up what I have left of the system?
Hello everyone,
I received a UNIDEN 7" tablet as a gift. 512 ram, 1ghz cup.
This is running android 4.0.4
I am unable to get the google play app store application to install on this device.
Or just the android market itself.
Does anyone have ny idea as to the correct apk file to install so I can start downloading applications?
I have looked at every installed application and there is no app store installed at all.
I have been searching online and trying different things, I can not seem to find any answers and can not seem to fin an app store apk that works...
Thank you for the help y'all
You need to use one of the available app markets on the tablet. The Google play store is not compatible with the device. If you use your browser app, you should come to a Uniden device help menu. Their compatible app markets will under downloads, I believe.

Thats sad to hear google play is not compatible with the device.
You would think that because it is an "Android" tablet, that it would be able to run the google play app, if I can find where to get it.
I did find the app store selection icon, it was almost so well hidden that it almost did not exist. I have an app store that interfaces with google play market, but unfortunately I can't buy any apps, it does not interface with the google play purchase system. I can only download free & trial apps...fail
----------------
Now I'm just working on finding how to root this thing. I'm hoping a generic android 4.0.4 root will work, hopefully it won't be device specific...lol
I don't think there is a stable way to root those. I had mine for an hour before I took it back. I couldn't find any root methods or aftermarket firmware support for it. I quickly lost interest in looking any further when I couldn't find anything on cyanogenmod's forums or xda's.

I followed the directions here: the-digital-reader.com/2012/04/07/how-to-install-google-apps-gplay-etc-on-polaroi-pmid701
then installed superSU and ES File Explorer and removed the old market place apx and added the phonesky apk in /system/app
play store seems to be working, but i haven't purchased anything from it yet, free downloads work in either the new or old versions
Does it function any better?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
None of those things make the tablet work better overall, but following the directions from the link leave you with an older version of market that does not fully work.
Replacing that as I described seems to give a working current version. Still havent had need to buy something, but I did trigger installs from the play site and other than not waking the device automaticly that worked correctly as well.
For a $60 piece of hardware I don't think it does too bad. Lags here and there, but plays some of the games my older phones seem to choke on quite well.

I wasn't aware that I could have rooted it with the polaroid method. I'm much more used to messing around with phones, which as far as I know have to be rooted at a model specific level.

As I understand it the southern telecom distributed devices are basically rooted from the factory, you just have to get some tools on-board to make use of it.
I am not an expert by any means, just stuff I found through google.

ok I found how to access the vendor apk with root explorer but I cannot figure out how to replace the file with the phonesky apk
Mine didn't have a phonesky apk. I D/L the latest play apk I could find on here and renamed it before placing it in the directory then rebooted. If yours has one I believe you might have to rename it first but I don't know for certian.
If I remember correctly this only worked for me after installing the old market apk as described in the link I posted then uninstalling the old market from applications.

Every time I try its built in system update feature, it crashes and says system fail or whatever.
I found it is rooted with the root checker app and using terminal IDE and typing SU it shows the # sign...
I'm trying to make superuser work, it does not seem to "request superuser permissions" when a root required app runs, the app will crash.
Still working on getting this thing to work how we want it to work.
PS: If I can get it to run good and maybe overclock, I might either upgrade android and maybe even install Ubuntu as well, or just scrap all of it and install windows 8, havent decided and looking into it much other than it can be done with some tablets; as far as our tablets, idk. lol
i will try again later when I get some time. The old market does work just a bit buggy. do I just delete the market apk in the system apps and then past the new apk there uninstall market and reboot? I have tried this all exept rebooting before first opening play. when it installs new play opens and crashes. Not sure if I am replacing the file corectly as it has been a while since I have done anything like that. a recovery would be awesome. I've given up on google play, I had it work a few times but it was so bugged up and laggy/crashing that it just wasn't worth it. I went and got a Mobile1Market app or whatever it is called...
I tried so many ways of making google play work, its unbelievable, I even tried modifying the akp file, which totally never worked except 1 time when it opened then nothing happened...
You would think that because its android, it should just work, but I guess that things are just too messed up for a reasonable sense of compatibility on android tablets...

You should take yours back to the store if it's giving you that many issues. I tried to manually add the play apk but it never opened, then I saw this thread and followed the directions in the third post and I now have the most current working version of Play.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2000720
I was also able to overclock to 1.2 using SetCPU.
i found a good method to get playstore on. when i gwt a bit of time i will fin the links. it is easy and has step by step insructions. worked for me and evwn updated the store on its own. so i think it is a good way to do it since it will update... hopefully i can find the linka again. it is all gapps so you will have maps and other crap as well
as always use at own risk I am not responsible for damage etc etc....
here is the market link I used http : / / db.tt/qSnXMWyJ
" http : / / db.tt/SjwfVfUB is the link to root,u need to extract the files and u need to open it up after extracted and look for the "runme.bat" and double click it,look over what it is saying to you and when u are done doing all of the things u hit enter it will do its thing and it may reboot once or twice but when all done it will be rooted "
I don't think you need the second link. It is for root. This is not my work just sharing. It is from a forum on a klu lt7033 tablet. I needed to root it and install market and then I tried the manual install method that is included in the directions and it worked for the uniden as well. you will need root explorer or something along those lines. this has more than just market. don,t know if it is full gapps but includes about 19 apps. I would install them all and afterwords take out what you dont want. just remember after you place the files where they go do not install them just reboot then all should be there. I have only used the playstore and have not checked to see if the other apps run (maps, youtube, google talk......)
enjoy and good luck
I first uninstalled the garbage Amazon marketplace that kept freezing up from the get it go. I would suggest uninstalling any market app you are using before doing this.
1. Download this ZIP file to your computer.
2. Open the Zip file on your computer and copy the contents to a folder on your Polaroid/Uniden tablet via a USB cable. Then unplug your tablet.
3. Once you’ve done that, open the file manager on your tablet and go to the folder where you put the files. Try to install the following apps in this order (double click on the files in order to run them):
OneTimeInitializer-signed.apk
SetupWizard.apk
vending-3.1.3-signed.apk
As a 4th step you might want to press the home button, select the checkmark which says “open always with”, and then select Launcher. This will guarantee that whenever you press the home button you will see the home screen and not be prompted with a menu.

Hey, I'm new to the forum and wanted to say thanks in advance for the help and to mention that I searched the forum before posting so I apologize if I've overlooked something.
I recently purchased a Polaroid PMID720 dual core Android 4.1 tablet to keep myself busy at work and I don't have access to the Google Play store, I had purchased a Polaroid PMID701 for my daugher for Christmas and had no problem getting the Google Market installed but so far I haven't been able to do the same with this one. I initially triend installing the older Google Market following the instructions found at the-digital-reader website (these are the instructions I used for my daughter's 701) but after I get it installed and attempt to start the app it crashes when I try to add my Google account. While searching I've stumbled onto the thread for the Polaroid AIO software several times but Southern Telecom (the company that makes the Polaroid tablets) doesn't offer the firmware for the PMID720 on their website.
I know that this is far from a high end tablet - it was purchased to watch a few videos, read some ebooks, and screw around on the web when I'm dead at work - but not having access to the Google Play store severly limits its usefulness (the Amazon store suuuucks). Any advice is appreciated and, again, thanks in advance for the help.

I cannot enter the url. I had the same exact problem as you. This method has worked for me (I also have PMID720 and got the same error as you when following the instructions that worked with earlier models).
While I was able to get Android Market installed, Google Services seemed to crash constantly. Also, none of the music apps running on the PMID720 recognized the playlists on my SD card (the same playlists that worked flawlessly on my old Emerson EMS543 and another Android device).
So, my solution was to return the PMID720 and exchange for a PMID705. Yes, it's slightly slower and less memory, but everything works: Android Market, Play Lists, etc... And, it was $30 cheaper.
I followed the instructions at:
http://www.the-digital-reader.com/2...ps-gplay-etc-on-polaroi-pmid701/#.UN48FG9X2WZ
The Play Store would say 'blah no data provisioning' or 'no reliable service...'.
I then went to Settings>Accessibility and at the bottom there is box to enhance web accessibility. I turned that on and launched the Market and followed the prompts. Afterwards a Google account was in my settings and I could access my apps at the Play Store. I then reset the Accessibility setting to 'Not Allowed' because I do not know what all it does.
I should also mention that I altered my '/etc/hosts' file, but I am not sure that was needed. I immediately downloaded the XDA app and saw your post. Wierd, huh?
Hope this helps.
Edit: I erased the google market and retried my steps and they failed. I had to install the apps in this order to get it to work again (I did leave the Accessiblity feature on again):
1) OneTimeInitializer-signed.apk
2) SetupWizard.apk
3) GoogleServicesFramework-signed.apk
4) vending-3.1.3-signed.apk
When I tried to connect with my gmail I got the same errors as above until I rebooted my tablet, it then finally connected. I sincerely hope this works for you. Also if you have installed any of the above, delete their data and reinstall.

I followed your instructions, but after the reboot, I still got the no data provisioning error. I then toggled the wifi to airplane mode and back and then I was able to sign in and download apps from the Market and the Gmail app began syncing. Chuck

That post will tell you all you need to know to get Google Play Store (the ICS version, whatever that was) on your PMID720. I just finished doing it, and it is working fine. If only my wireless at home was! lol
I used the wireless adb portion of the play_alpha2 package. It worked flawlessly, once I realized which copy I needed to download. They all have exactly the same name, but they're not all identical packages.
Good luck!

Updated method!!!
I can't be the only one out here still using this tablet and trying to figure out how to improve it! The Google Apps are still working just fine. No forced closes or errors of any kind. I am pleased as punch about this, but it's kinda frustrating to come in so late in the game and find nobody looking anymore.
