Okay, let's go straight..I've been flashed two ROMs from eugene's Macnut R12 and Team Whiskeys' Obsidian V3, which are both roms competible to change bootanimation.zip. So, i found the .zip that i want and just place it under the /system/media/bootanimation.zip and reboot.
Not work and instead of Not shown any log, it boot into Stock Android.
Please...Can anyone help me to solve it, i just want to change a bootanimation into something i like??
i cant find bootanimation.zip inside media.i can see bootani.qwg file. how to replace it??
Might seem like a simple question but did you take out the original bootanimation.zip before you put the new one in? Also you have to set the permissions correctly. Try again and pull original out and put on sdcard. Put new one in and check permissions. Then reboot. I've done this many times, so not sure why it didn't work for you.
If you don't see bootanimation.zip in /system/media but rather a bunch of bootani.qwg files, your kernel doesn't support it. I know the Bali kernals do, as most Voodoo injected ones do too.
I put together a list of Audio files from GingerBread and M9 that I thought people might want to have for whatever ROM they are currently using. These are .ogg files so they need to be either ADB pushed to system/media/audio or by using "ROOT EXPLORER". You can even change the UI audio tones by renaming whatever file you copy into the folder.
Example:
I wanted to use the unlock.ogg audio file as the sound when I press any key on my phone so here is what I did.
I went to system/media/audio/UI found the Lock.ogg file copied it and renamed the new file TW_Touch.ogg. This replaced the default TW_Touch.ogg audio file.
I made sure to rename the original TW_Touch.ogg file to TW_Touch1.0gg just incase I wanted it back or to use it some where else. Not sure if anyone is interested in this but thought I'd throw it out there just incase.
Thanks to Team Whiskey Dev team and EINHERJAR Dev team as I pulled these Audio files from their ROMS's.
Enjoy.

Thanks. The files seem to be missing, though.
Question:
I moved the sgs4g ones over and all it did was create another folder inside the original one. Inside notification folder there were all the original .ogg + another folder named notification, with all the new ones. They still show up when selecting a tone, I just want to do it right way.
What's the best way to replace those 2 folders?
Thanks for posting these, I'm always up for new ones .

So I remade all of the images from the samsung vibrant "puzzle" lockscreen.I thought I would be able to use root explorer and copy them in to the framework.apk in the system>framework-res.apk>res>drawable-hdpi folder ....
I was able to get the files in the folder, but its still the same lock screen that is standard on bionix 1.3.1
Any help??How should I go about doing this?
Someone PMd me telling me what i was doing wrong... this thread can be deleted.
Thanks!

You can extract it from the 1.1 zip file if you want it back.
/system/media/bootanimation.zip

Just as Alta1r said... but remember to backup the current one you have (rename to bootanimationback.zip or whatever) before you put in a new one... because it will overwrite it if has same name "bootanimation.zip".
Alta1r & cyberboob ,thanks

I also want to change my boot animation back to the stock sgs2, I tried putting the qmg files in system/media and removing the boot animation.unicorn file, but that didn't work. did you do it manually? Or does anyone know how to on this rom?
you need to push the zip file "bootanimation.zip" into /system/media.
You need to do it with some file explorer like 'Root Explorer' when you are on /system remember set the press the button R/W on the top to give the permissions for writing on this folder
Yep, done all that, but unfortunately the rom doesn't read the stock .qmg files so ended up making a bootanimation.zip from scratch. Now just to get the audio running... I have the PowerOn.ogg file, does anyone know where to put it? Doesn't seem to work in usual system/etc folder

I've successfully changed the bootanimation back to the original stock one by replacing the zip file into system/media, but even i put the Power on.wav into the system/etc, still i've got no sound ...
How can i solve it?!
(Using remix pro 1.1)
Thanks!
Same issue only with v1.4
I have resurrection remix ICS 1.4 and i cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the audio working for my boot animations. It seems there may be plenty of others who would like an answer to this question. Getting bootanimations to work is no problem but the audio seems to be a mystery.

with the RES REMIX PRO 1.1 version, have you tried converting the .wav to .ogg format then putting it in system/etc?
Try either PowerOn.ogg/wav/mp3 or Android_audio.ogg/wav/mp3 and see how you go.
the best so far for me. excellent bat3 life. but my dcim folder creates thumbnails of almost 1GB and occupies my space. what can i do to stop this
boot animation sound
I have tried for 3days now trying figure how to get sound to work on boot up. I have put PowerOn.wav and PowerOn.mp3 and PowerOn.ogg in both the system/etc directory and system/media directory. I've also tried android_audio.mp3 and android_audio.wav and android_audio.ogg in both directories and all 6 in data/local too and still nothing. I have Resurrection remix 1.4 with kernel that comes with (cm9). I have also tried thoravukk kernel and nothing. What should I do?

my guess would be a particular app, probably an mp3 downloader or something that has adds. take a look at the clippings and see if you recognize them from somewhere. find out what app is doing it and shut it down (clear data and force close) in applications manager, and delete the pics. or just delete the app/ find a similar one or pay for the add free version if there is one and see how you go

Hiya everyone I'm really stuck and have been trying to do this for days and days I successfully rooted my phone and put Batista70_FoxHound_Zoule_Theme_Edition_3.0_By_SnakeS on it I then put a cool playstation 1 boot up animation on it but it doesn't have sound and I can't find the file to replace/rename anywhere I've tried looking for the solution for ages but each place they say to look it just isn't there has anyone had a similar problem has anyone got a solution ?
On my GB phone its PowerOn.wav in /etc
You'll need something like Root Explorer to find it.
where is the sound file?
Hey man I checked there but it's not there when I installed the custom do you think it moved it somewhere random?
Location system/etc
POWERON .WAV GB
POWERON.OGG ICS
Bootanimation.zip ( not sound) is system/media
jje
oh where oh is the boot sound file?
It's not there.

Then their is NO boot sound with that rom its that simple .
You put on animation but you did not put on a bootsound .
jje
where is the sound file?
ok so what would I have to do to get a boot sound on?
The answer is above - assuming the ROM effort you use will look for it.
As jje stated, in ICS you need a sound file and titled Poweron.ogg in system/etc
Most people delete the effing thing...
