Hey guys, I stumbled across all the excellent -oid emulators and I was wondering, have you guys tried them on the nook? If so, how did you install them? I'm having a bit of trouble here...

I know that N64oid works, I've used it. Just download and install the APK like any other app.
download the slideme market, (search the web) then search for the *OIDs you want.
i've tried, i've dowloaded the snesoid, it's working fine, not laggy at all...

all of my roms are on the My files internal folder...

Do you have a link to that .apk? I'm having trouble finding it.
I recommend mame4all from the market as well.
Tested out both gameboid and n64oid, they work magnificently! However, i seem to be having one problem: i feel like there is supposed to be a menu or some kind at the bottom, where the status bar is. There is not one, however. Am i right in my suspicion?

Maggot, have you tried pressing the menu button? you need button savior for that.
i use Gameboid. it works great once you get the bios.
to play the roms i had to download them to my computer then unzip them. once i did that i put them on my nook in a folder i made specifically for GBA roms instead of using an SD card.

I don't see a menu button, i'll try savior tonght. I think i'm having the white on white menu problem too, except mine is black on black...
Can you use texturepacks with n64oid? I ask becuase there are some sweet ones for Zelda OOT and was wondering if they would be usable on N64oid

You need to turn off full screen in the settings before loading a rom and you will keep the status bar.
I've got GENPlusDroid, SNESDroid and N64oid v2.6.2 installed on mine.
GENPlusDroid has been working great for all the games I've tried so far, which is only Sonic the Hedgehog and Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition.
SNESDroid, so far most of the games I've installed work pretty well. Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario World, Suzuka 8 Hours and Joust. Yoshi's Island works but is a little slow.
N64oid I've been having a hard time finding Roms that will play well. So far I've only got Mario Kart 64 to play well. Everything else I've tried goes way too slow to be playable. (ie. Conker's Bad Fur Day, Yoshi's Story and Resident Evil 2). I have Pokemon Stadium 1&2, but haven't tried them yet.

Super mario 64 and ocarina of time work great too. I did get button savior and that fixed everything, thanks to whoever recommended that.

Sure can. You just need to drop them in the "/sdcard/.n64oid/hires_texture/" folder. Just make sure your texturepack name matches the ROM name, or n64oid won't be able to find it. (I believe this feature was added in ver. 2.6, so if you're using an older version, it might not work)
Thanks for the heads up since it can use hires trexture packs I am now wondering which Graphics plugin its using now.

Hi.. I have tried installing Worms by EA Games. It downloads and installs right, but then it tries to download files to update the game, and then breaks.. I tried another EA Game (FIFA 2010) and the same happens..
Has anybody been able to install any EA Games successfully from the Market?

I couldn't get FIFA to work using this method, although Worms works just fine. FIFA always crashes back to the launcher upon start...
Got FIFA to work, you need to install the apk instead of just moving it to system/apps. Or at least that's what I did to end the crash at start problem.

Could you please detail the procedure you followed to get fifa to work? I get the message of "unsupported device" when I start it. I tried downloading it to my G1, but it gives me the same message!

I tried the above method for the Sims. It did not work. The game runs upside down and everything in the game is white except for the menus.

Now I realized that it installs, but the problem is when trying to download the extra 40 MB of content, it won't let me.. Is there any way you could upload the extra data somewhere?
The extra stuff should be either in sdcard/android/data/Com.eamobile.fifa/files or /data/data/com.eamobile.fifa/files
I'll try when I get home, my work blocks all of the filesharing sites, what's a good free one to host it to? Or I could just rar it in ~10mb chunks and email it to you, whichever is easiest.

Can you tell me what are you runnig in your nook? Stck + rooted, nookie Froyo, Honeycomb?
I installed the files, but it keeps asking to download when FIFA is started. Also, I tried finding the .apk for the game, and I can't locate it anywhere!

Hey guys, so one of the biggest things I really want on my NT is GameBoid, the Android GBA emulator. I'm still pre-rooted because I don't want to mess up my NT on accident, so I'm patiently waiting for a step by step guide for noobs such as I on either YouTube or XDA to appear.
All of my attempts to get GameBoid to work as desired have failed. I have been able to install it, and have it recognize the gba_bios.bin that is needed for it to function, but after selecting the ROM I'd like to play, it shows a screen for a split second, and then quickly quits.
ZdBox says it still runs in the background, and it'll continue to do that until I uninstall GameBoid.
So I was wondering if anybody who has rooted has gotten it to work (or anybody not rooted for that matter), this is my first Android device so I have really no clue what I'm doing.

Get on your tablet and come to this Page. Download the file through the link posted above. Once downloaded, open it. In the prompt / pop-up, select package installer. As far as the gba bios bin file, you can find that with a quick google search. Just download it and when you open Gameboid, it'll ask you for the file. Then you just browse to the file and you should be all set.

Sony PlayStation games are anywhere from 10 to 15 years old, thats why they look this way, the tablet is working fine.
They're not going to look any better on a playstation; it's an old system and that's about as good as games got back then...
That being said, it's still fun and nostalgic to play some of those old titles!

So true! It will be nice to play those classic PS games one more time to remember old times! hehe but I must recognize that as many old video games, I didn't remember them looking so bad! haha but that's just my memory not the tablet!!
By the way there is a software rendering and some other settings for each game which help compatibility with psxperia on native emulator on experia play. See if it helps. I have not strated playing psx games on the tablet as i cannot attach a ps3 controller (maybe because im still on 3.1 fw) and for now xperia play experience is better

I had this, yet it wouldn't open. 1 factory reset later and it's no longer installed

try opening your video unlimited app; it's synced to the ps store somehow and last time I opened it was when it asked me to upgrade. Just a thought...

I've made a pretty bomb controller setup for MC3 using the Sixasis app. The interwebs have provided horrible info on how to set this up so I just figured it out last night and would love to share! After figuring it out, its pretty friggin' simple.
After you've done the initial pairing add my .map to sdcard/data/com.dancingpixelstudios.sixasiscontroller/profiles
Then, within sixasis app main "page", use the white highlighted dropdown to select the map.
Don't forget to touch "change IME" and select sixasis controller!!
Within the game under options and controller config pick classic as your layout. Adjust look sensitivity there. Its very quick and sensitive now so beware...
Now you should be good to go. This setup feels super dank on this game so have fun!!!

Holy **** that setup sounds sick! However, the ROM I'm running gives me the "incompatible device" message after the initial install of most Gameloft games, including my MC2. Is MC3 compatible with our Primes now? If it is I still won't be able to play for a bit until they get the issue worked out, but I'll be sure to use your setup when I can finally get down with poppin' off some newbz.
The new mc3 update works with our primes, but still doesnt show in the market.
I bought, downloaded the app and installed on my evo. Used es file explorers app manager to back it up. It backups to sdcard/backups/apps i believe. Long tap the apk to pop up a menu then touch share. I literally emailed it to myself LOL. Installed on my prime and all ''extra'' files did as need be.
Ive been playing the game and online multiplayer perfectly! Plays just like modern warfare sooooooo fun

But see for me, on my ROM, that's not saying much. Because Asphalt 6 and MC2 also show in Market, but after the initial install it says "checking device etc etc, then device is not compatible".
Damnit, I want to try it sooo bad, especially with your Sixaxxis setup...but I'm afraid that even if it shows in the Market and I download it, after install it will fail.
Do you know how good they are as far as refunds? I will know if it works or not within the 15 minute window, so I'm not worried about that. I'll give it a shot as long as I can get my money back if it doesn't work.
Do you need root to remap buttons in the sixaxis app?

Refunds within 15mins are processed by Google and not the developers. You will always get it if within 15 mins.
Im currently trying some different setups on mc3 cuz apparently setting up touch emulation on the virtual sticks is not nearly as bad ass as using the classic setup. I was getting str8 spanked online LOL.

Thanks for the profile, works well apart from the right analog stick is really slow to move and the r3 button for knife doesn't work. Anyone else experiencing this ?
I've gotta get a chance to upload the new mapping...it fully fixes the slow movement. Hang tight because I did fix that

Updated mc3 maps are now up. Look sensitivity is MUCH better and you have to now use the "classic" controller setup. Adjust your sensitivity in the controller options of the game.

Forgive me if this is the wrong place but I bought Max Payne mobile, it loads wonderfully but when it starts I have no onscreen controller. I have checked all settings but everything seems OK. I'm an att note running hyfyr ics, I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this?

Changing DPI didn't do anything to get the on screen controls.

Installation instructions:
1) Download .APK file, install the game
2) Download Performance SD Card Files (or via WiFi if you device is supported)
3) Place SD Card Files in sdcard/Android/data
4) Play

I am also having the same problem with cm9 being flashed on my LTE note. The six axis app isn't working with it either and it works fine with gta3. Anyone find a fix yet?
Maybe its not ics compatible. I would have no problem buying but Google play is showing its not compatible but I just assumed it was my 213 dpi. Changing dpi didn't work for me as well.

Although I have the N7000 note, running android 2.3.6, so I doubt it's an issue with ICS.
I've read down through the reviews, and some other note users seem to be having issues too...and then some are saying it's working perfectly
Also, someone with an S2 is having issues too, so it couldn't be note specific.
May I ask how yous obtained it? is it possible that rockstar uploaded a fake version to catch us out or something?
I downloaded it a "different" way too...simply because with a 1.2gb extra download, there's no way I would be able to get a refund within 15 mins!

That explains it, "Adjust Touch Controls" is greyed out for me, so I'm guessing it's because I use the sixaxis app...hang on and I'll try to find a solution,
FOUND THE SOLUTION (so proud of myself) YOU NEED TO CLEAR THE CACHE OF THE SIXAXIS APP (AND POSSIBLY FPSE) THEN IT SHOULD WORK PERFECTLY, ENJOY!!!
Ya I got it off a torrent because I couldn't download it from play store. I tried turning off six axis ime and no difference. Why would android be seeing it as a controller is connected. Maybe there is different apks?

I've read down through the reviews, and some other note users seem to be having issues too...and then some are saying it's working perfectly
Also, someone with an S2 is having issues too, so it couldn't be note specific.
May I ask how yous obtained it? is it possible that rockstar uploaded a fake version to catch us out or something?
I downloaded it a "different" way too...simply because with a 1.2gb extra download, there's no way I would be able to get a refund within 15 mins!

hmm do you have any other emulation apps? (fpse, psx4droid etc)
Oh and try turning off bluetooth (rockstar said it might help)
That's strange indeed, because it's working perfectly for me now, love it!

I have six axis n64oid nes.emu snes9x and gameboid ill try clearing all caches. My bt is always off.

Yeah hopefully that'll work...I just cleared all my caches so it may not have been sixaxis that was causing issues.
I went into cwm cleared cache and dalvik cache still nothing. I really don't have anything on here to conflict with it. Maybe u just got lucky plus ur on gb and international so Idk.

What r you on
I don't know about CM9 but other ICS ROMs are working fine on different phones. So I believe ICS is not the case as a lot of people (in different forums) think.
I have the same issue on the international Galaxy Note, on Galaxy S Plus, but not on Galaxy S (I9000). None of the phones have anything To conflict with it. No Sixaxis, no other emulators and no Bluetooth. And I've tried with fresh new stock ROMs aswell. I guess different phones were not fully optimized by Rockstar.

And I dont know how to clear cache in the sixaxis and fpse apps. http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/icons/icon9.gif
