What am I doing wrong? - HTC EVO 3D

I seem to be having trouble getting the recovery and su file to go thru in command prompt. I have put the recovery.img and su.zip into the sdk tools folder but I am getting this error.

This is the guide I am using: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239821
I've searched the thread and the main issues in that thread is getting the unlock code to work but I'm past that, my bootloader is unlocked.
also do I need to be in fastboot when trying to push the recovery and su, cause I am not in fastboot while trying to do this.

You don't need to be in fastboot, just use adb when you're booted to the OS. I see that you're in your tools folder, but are you sure that's where your adb driver is? Certain sdk versions have it in the platform/tools folder. Check that and make sure that you're in the folder that has the adb driver.

I figured it out. adb was in folder i created to unlock the BL. Im finally squared away though after hours of frustration.

[Q] Operation not permitted

I've been trying to restore root to my phone after updating to leaked JB with no luck. I unfortunately forgot to update the su binaries before making a backup so Voodoo is no help. I took a look at Matt's script and ran it trying to get it to work and it installed superSU, but I still don't have root access with it on there. Still tells me permission denied when I do "su" in terminal emulator.
So, I took a look at the script and ran the commands line for line to see what was going on and this is what I get:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Any help would be appreciated as i've been asking this in a couple places and getting ignored.
Alright so I checked permissions on the su-backup and determined that it looks like he's trying to use setuid to inherit permissions. I finally got it working anyway. If they haven't fixed this issue in the first place then couldn't you just do what the original rage against the cage exploit did?

[Q] Pulling off Bootloader files

Good day!
My android phone is Alcatel OT-978, Gingerbread 2.3.7. After days of extensive research, I really couldn't find a way to root my phone. I had tried each of these methods but they all failed:
- z4root;
-super oneclick;
-gingerbreak;
-zergrush;
-psneuter;
I had stumbled upon some random post on the net saying that another workaround is by "hacking" the bootloader. Using ADB, I had these files on my phone:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
My problem is, I can't use the command adb pull on the concerned mtdblock. Every time I use the mentioned command, RE: adb pull /dev/block/mtdblock4 c:\users\ash^03\desktop\system.img, i get the result REMOTE OBJECT '/DEV/BLOCK/MTDBLOCK4' NOT A FILE OR DIRECTORY
Can somebody help me on this. I really need to "hack" or have somebody root my bootloader for me to be able to gain a full root on my device.
BTW, when i type "adb root", it says 'adb cannot run as root in production builds."

Hello,
I have a Vodafone 890n with Android 4.4. Today I tried to install TWRP. Phone was already rooted from 2 years ago, or something like that. I downloaded the image, installed Flashify, installed TWRP then I rebooted the phone just to see what is in the first photo
. No matter what I do, I end up in this screen. If I press power button + up&down I get the second photo . After installing the driver for the phone, I was able to see the phone using fastboot devices, but in ADB the list is empty and if I try to run fastboot boot or fastboot flash recovery it will return FAILED unknown command. Is the phone hardbricked ?

You have to use the side port on the phone and you need to type adb reboot fastboot while the phone is booted into the recovery menu/bootloader. It should reboot into fastbootd at which point your device will show up when checking with the command fastboot devices.
