did u tried reparing it with Suite??????/
where did you get the phone? is it possible that it has been reported lost or stolen and locked down by the network.
If you go into settings >> about phone, is your baseband number shown or does it say unknown?
If it's unknown you may have to have it repaired/replaced - that randomly happened to my wife's X10 about 5 weeks after unlocking her bootloader, and we tried everything (different kernels, different ROMs, relocking bootloader, reverting back to stock 2.1, repairing with PC companion etc etc).
Some things we tried fixed it, but only until the phone was rebooted then it would be back to no signal and say baseband unknown again.
In the end, she had to get it replaced - sorry, it sounds like this may be the case for you too (hope not!!)

Hi there,
i have problems with my X10i, since the first day i got it i've had problems with my simcard wich are :
- couldnt read 'my number' in phonebook
- every now and then my phone says no sim-card thus not giving me 3g/network
back in the day (1.6) i could just put it on airplane-mode and back off to get the signal back (not realy a solution) after i installed 2.1 (via XDA) i hoped the problem would be gone. but no sadly it's still here. i went to T-mobile shop wich told me i had to give the phone to them (thus beeing phoneless for 3 weeks or so). so i started trying to fix this problem myself.
- new install
- no task managers
- clean the simcard+holder
- eventualy i read that the problem with 'my number' in phonebook could be solved using a 2nd phone. so i did that and loaded the number in a samsung phone. put the sim back in my X10i and i had a number in phonebook .. YAY but no .. that was not the solution to the second problem.
- i installed bluesparks v5.. but still the problem is still there.
anybody have a solution besides bringing it back to the store ? (no the simcard is new as is the phone and according to the ppl from t-mobile its not the simcard)
Ty for ur reply's
1. For the phone number agenda detection solution. You need to use a phone that allows you to especify your phone number into the sim. A phone like SE w580 use agenda options to declare the phone number after that the sim uses that number in your X10, just that simply.
2. For the network solution i think you need the APN settings. Check this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=876878&highlight=apn+settings
okey ty for the reply mate will try it right now using the 2 APN xml files in ur link. and i already managed to fix the phone number problem using a samsung phone P so its just the problem with the phone saying no sim card every now and then
will get back with you i'l see if the phone keeps dooing its job as intended
hey mate, today i had it again : No sim-card in phone .. so .. nope its not the APN settings. any other suggestions any1 ?
Galaxy S II has no Network upon further inspection the phone doesn't display the Imei, bluetooth, wifi mac address.
Its not in flight mode, I restored to factory settings, tried couple of sims as well.
Is it a software issue or hardware issue??
Is likely flight mode. Press power button long and try the option flight mode or data connection.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
still the same its not in flight mode or any other settings tho. I have used a galaxy S for 8 months
Replace sim card in holder .
jje
did try all the possibilities.
NEW PROBLEM : Once put into flight mode,i cant get rid off flight mode and the phone doesn't charge anymore?? Please tell me its a software issue
UPDATE: The phone is charging after doing a factory restore, but now i found out when i go to mobile network, it says SIM CARD NOT INSERTED? Sim card tray issue? hardware??
DOUBT: is there a chance the phone to get network locked??
UPDATE: when I Enter *#7465625# and see the following:
Personalization Status
Network Lock
Network Subset Lock
SP Lock
CP Lock
Phone is from singapore, looks like it got locked automatically?
things are getting more complicated my doesnt have a imei
when i check imei it doesnt show
NO imei copy back your backed up efs folder as per thread dev section.
Try factory reset rtrey flashing a stock rom .
jje
Yup, sounds like an efs issue. Hope you backed that up.
i dint flash or root the phone to corrupt those.
its a brand new phone out of the box

Yea, this is the exact thing thats happened to me (Indian version).
Fresh out of the box phone, worked fine for the last 3-4 days.
Now I'm out on a vacation, and the network selection on roaming was flaky, I was toggling the network selection manually/automatically a few times to get some network, and the next thing I know I no longer have a IMEI (shows unknown) , and the same for baseband ( shows unknown) .
Tried factory resetting , etc, not helping. Will get back home and have the phone repaired/replaced.

This airplane mode sounds dangerous. Unfortunately it may be a necessity when you are travelling etc. Hope there is a known fix or one comes out soon. Until then I will keep my /efs partition backup in 3-datacenter redundant storage place along with my laptop and ext.hdd.
i just recieved an sgs2 in uk and it has this exact problem out of the box.
grrr
if anyone wants to point me to a stock rom for it i'll try flashing it
erm, i dont think flashing will help here.
I reckon that missing IMEI means the /efs partition has been wiped out/corrupted, and that is something which cannot be restored by a simple flash.
finally, after almost 12 days, lots of running around, I finally got my S2 working again.
The service center had to send the phone to their head office since they hadnt received any service info on the new model till then.
They changed the PBA apparently , and finally reflashed it and gave it to me.
They claimed that the flashing was an online process and samsung india service servers were down for nearly 2-3 days, accounting for the additional delay.
Just like my I9000, but I dont think it is the same problem and same way to solve.
I rooted the devise and deleted the nv_date.bin and the nv_data.md5 in EFS file with Root Explorer, and renamed the .nv_data.bak into nv_data.bin, then restart, problem solved
I have exactly the same problem as you guys are talking about. Really weird. The /efs directory, where is it located? Is it located in the main "Root" or is it in a specific folder? I would like to try the thing with the rename trick?

Hi guys, I need your help badly, plzzzz.
So, it happened one day that my phone kept restarting after I wanted to call my mum. Every time the phone booted up, and i typed in the right PIN, the problem remaind.
I tought that a factory reset could solve the problem...it couldn't. (btw, without the SIM in it, the phone worked; thats how i menaged to do a factory reset). After that i managed to upgrade the firmware (from 2.1.1.A.0.6 to 2.1.1.C.0.0) even though that PCC said that there is no upgrade for my phone. Finally I solved the problem, but just for i while. Everything was good till i dialed again, the problem reappeared. This time it didn't recognise the SIM anymore and i had no signal, but the restarting stoped.
Then i tried something else. I wanted to unlock the bootloader, but it was already unlocked (i bought the phone secondhand), so I replaced the stock kernel and the rom, with nAa kernel(v.13) and a MiniCM7-2.2.1 custom rom. But the problem still remains. The current state is that i keep recieving "Insert the SIM card, and restart the phone" notification, and i have no signal, everything else is work fine. Plz give me suggestions what to do, to restore the cell to usable state. Thank you for advance for you'r assistance.

Repair to stock rom and lock your bootloader might do the trick.. don't lock the bootloader on a custom kernel.
Hi
I believe that my phones radio capabilities may be disabled. I tried to root my phone but ended up flashing it with an ftf file and now i cant connect to my mobile network with my phone, Ive tried multiple simcards and flashing my phone a few times with different ftf files.
Everything else on my phone seems to be working fine except ability to connect to mobile network carrier.
I cant unlock the bootloader or use s1tools because it cant recognise the certificate or something like that, I can flash and root the phone though.
can i save my phone and how?
Hi
Today i flashed and rooted my unlocked xperia x10i with flashtool and the provided .ftf file, "X10_V1_BLRelock.ftf". Pretty much after that my phone had been reset and i couldn't connect to my mobile network.
During the initial setup after the flash, my phone asked me to "Please insert sim card and restart your phone", Now in the drop down bar is has a "No service, selecting network (yes optus) is unavailable). Originally with this phone and my x10a the other networks had a red circle indicating i couldn't access them however right now i can try to connect to all of them but fail. everytime i try to connect i get the message "Your simcard does not allow connection to this network". My APN list is blank but it has always been blank.
My simcard works in another phone, other simcards dont work in my phone. I tried flashing my phone again and rooting it again, with multiple ftf files. I was going to try installing another rom for jellybean, but i cant because my adb drivers are stuffed and ill figure that out later if need be.
I live in australia and the imei is fine, hasnt changed and im not even sure if that would effect the phone from functioning here. I have no idea is its affected the phones radio or frequencies if supposed to function on, help would be greatly appreciated.
I cant receive or make phone calls, texts messages, anything that relies upon me being connected to my carrier. everything else seems to work fine including my home internet. i also used that *#*#4636#*#* and that didnt really tell me anything i dont think.
Phone: Xperia x10i, unlocked
Running: android 2.3.3,
baseband version: 2.1.71
If you require any other information, ill post it up, not that sure what would be needed to figure this out.
Hello everyone! I hope somebody can help me with my problem on my SOLA. As stated on the title on top I lost my Sim network Signal. The icon on top of the screen has been grayed out. It started when my SOLA was running a custom ROM SlimKat by alwaysadeel. I am not blaming the veloper but it goes like this, while the sola was on SlimKat I had this Advanced task killer pro installed on the phone. In the app, there is this FIX button at the buttom of the screen so hit it and then I started losing the Sim signal. I tired to hit that FIX button but nothing happened. Then I switch back to Stock ICS but the problem with sim signal is still there. Then I am seeing this "SIM not provisioned MM # 2 error" SIM that I tried to used during this issue are working/operational on other phones so I am definite that it is the device itself ha the problem and not the simcards. I even relocked my bootloader and tried fixing wigth PCC but I am so clueless how to fix it with PCC. If anybody has solution to this problem please I need your help. Thanks a lot.
Well, this is strange, you should be able to see signal after switching to stock ROM.
Assuming its a s/w fault.
anyways, first, the error means either sim card is corrupted or it hasn't been activated yet. Both are not possible in your case as we n=know they are working on other sets.
I suppose you are seeing this error AFTER switching to stock ICS, right ?
now, possible troubleshooting :
first, try CM, or again install SlimKat. After this you can try different kernels too.
second, check your ics release, it should be of your region, MT27a or MT27i, version should be right.
after downloading correct version, flash using flashtool, wipe everything.
hope it helps, as the problem is unique, i cannot think of any other possible solution.

I have a similar problem in a Xperia U, I've flash a CM9 rom like a month ago, and was working incredible, smooth, fast, everything ok, till this monday when lost signal, works ok with wifi, and also with data (at least in whatsapp, no fb, or youtube) but I can´t send sms or make a call, I've tried to flash stock (ICS) but the problem is there, even flashing just the baseband and the complete firmware with flashtool, I'll tried with GB now, but don´t know what else to do, when power on, recognize the carrier (for one or two seconds) then loose it, and when you search for networks, it say (Error al buscar redes) that an error ocurred, if you find a solution please share it, or if anyone have any suggestions, they are welcome... Thanks!!
PS. Can you believe it!?!?!?! MY own company have mi IMEI denied, I use a provisory sim card, FROM the carrier for a few days, while they changed my real number and gime my new sim card, to be able to change of company (carrier), then, a couple of months later, they discharged that "disposal" line and my IMEI went down with it, now I have to go to the office and solve the problem that they create me. Sorry, I know is offtopic, but I want to share in case someone else have this issue.
