Web browser workaround - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Does anyone know if there is work around that will allow me to use mymathlab type websites?
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk

Who is the publisher?
I use My Finance Lab by PEARSON for a class and it works just fine with the built in browser. Was using it just a few hours ago in class.
But for another website I use to access all of my courses it will not work with the built in browser. I have to use Opera instead. The site is pretty much all java so I'm not sure why it would not work.

What's your favorite Remote Desktop app?

I would like to know what kind of Remote Desktop app do you use (if you are using one). I am not asking for those that is remote-ing from phone to control your desktop but more of those that you access your phone data/sms/files via the browser. Currently I know if Remote Desktop by KOŁAKOWSKI DAMIAN and the other Remote Web Desktop by SMARTDOG STUDIO.
Recommendations please?
webkey - seems to be a real powertoy

[Q] Postscript viewer

Does anyone know a postscript viewer for Android? Ghostview/ghostscript don't seem to have their Android incarnations and I cannot find anything else.
The only apps I saw in the market when I looked last month, was ones that use a web service to convert to PDF. I have a Debian chroot, so, I'll use ps2pdf, ps2txt, and friends.

Yes, I have seen the web app too, but I'd really prefer a local PS viewer. Nothing really obvious in the Market. Just thought that one of the apps might have a PS viewer built it.

Best PDF reader?

Hi guys, am hoping to get some help here. What is the best PDF reader for the TP? The included Adobe Reader is fine as long as you're reading all pages in order but has a few things that annoy me.
1. I am studying for professional school exams and have pdf textbooks where I have to go from page 3 to page 500 quickly to check answers/explanations to answers, this is a pain with Adobe since you can't enter a page number you wish to go to
2. The page can only be zoomed in a certain amount. And in order to change pages you have to completely zoom out, switch pages, then zoom in. A pain when taking timed practice tests.
Pleeeeeeease can someone help
Adobe reader has a slide at the bottom that lets you navigate through pages quickly
I use ezpdf reader ($. 99) in the app store, or I use kingsoft office (free). Both work amazing.
I use them for work on a daily basis.

give foxit pdf a go.
Kindle also supports pdf's. Not sure how well it works though

I like adobe reader. It seems to be the fastest at opening large pdfs and scrolling without rendering lag.

I like Repligo the best for just plain reading but it's not a free app.
I also use RepliGo - great for almost all kinds of PDF's out there. It's kinda steep in price though, but I find it well worth it to have - both on my Android, and my BB.
Another good one is the Documents to Go and OfficeSuite Pro suites on there - but they're pricey as well. I'm just lucky I got mine as the FAotD of Amazon AppStore.
Ebookdroid is best it has pdf and djvu and others

You MUST try ezpdf! (paid version)
Has added functionality -- you can markup, highlight, annotate, bookmark. Makes it far far far more useful for working purposes. Among my favorite and most useful programs.
BTW - this is running on Android ICS.
The webos pdf readers are not nearly as good.
Adobe Reader atm
or Polaris Office pdf Reader

If you are just after files then consider setting up an FTP server.
Proxying isn't necessary if you intend to authenticate directly with the FTP server but I have my server only respond to internal addresses and therefore have to tunnel in and then proxy the requests through the tunnel.
To accomplish this I setup a proxy on the phone (proxydroid) a ssh tunnel (connectbot) and a ftp client (andftp). I'd like to find a client that has its own socks5 proxy so I would not have to use proxydroid.
thanks i'll try out the pocket cloud one. i don't have the knowledge to set up an ftp server. actually now that i think about it i don't really need to transfer any files anyway. but being able to kick off downloads on my desktop was nice to have when i had it working. thanks guys.
I paid for the Splashtop app. I like it so far. I am able to use the native screen resolution on my pc and everything seems to work fine. Give it a try.
I second Splashtop if you are looking for a remote desktop app. The only thing is right now they are moving to Splashtop 2 and last I checked the android app for it isn't out yet but Everything still works.

I got splashtop for free from amazon app store when they had it for the free app of the day. Not rubbing it in but just throwing it out there for the ones not familiar.

I use LogMeIn Ignition. It works really well, even over a so-so connection It's pricy, but I believe they give you a 1 month trial.

for work use, on an exchange server, the stock exchange Email app allows you to access shares over CIFS if you know the address to the share, allows me to browse and download anything on our company intranet

Aldiko ebook reader - buggy on Note 10.1 2014

For those looking for an ebook reader and tending to use or even buy Aldiko, the following information might be of interest.
I purchased Aldiko and with change from Note 10.1 to Note 10.1 2014, pages with graphics were suddenly displayed as blank.
Some tests showed me finally, that Aldiko is yet not able to cope with the screen resolution of the Note 10.1 2014 (if run in split screen mode, the pages are displayed properly).
Unfortunately, although Aldiko knows about the problem since October and the reason since December, nothing happend. Instead support requests are simply closed without any comment, there is no answer or reaction from the support at all.
Presently, I cannot recommend Aldiko anymore. A pity as I paid for the software.
I use mantano and moored both work well and I can have books on my so card

I have a subscription on the beam store where Aldiko offered the option to download purchased ebooks within the app.
That's why I purchased (and I wanted to support the developers as the app was good on my GT-N8000).
What about MoonReader?
I second moon reader, ive been using it for 6mons and it replaced everything else

If you need something fast mupdf beats all competition. The UI is kind of clunky but when it comes to speed of rendering pdf it can't be beat.

I have MoonReader, what I missed is the direct integration of eBook stores (buying and downloading).
And what I do not understand is the fact that Aldiko knows about the problem but did not fix it and the app is still available for the Note 10.1 2014 in the app store.
I like the Mantano, the interface is nice and clean and it handles notes well other than the insistence of heavily branding exported note review sheets.
The biggest issue with Mantano is it's inability to handle pdf files. If you select text from a pdf and copy to another application or activate TTS it splits w or ds wi th l o ts of sp ace s, so it renders TTS and copy functions as useless. I wrote to Mantano as at £6.69 it's the most expensive single app I've bought, I had the following response:
" Thank you for your email. Yes we are aware of the issue that you report. It is caused by the software component (from Adobe) that we are using to parse the PDF. We are investigating fixes but we currently have nothing really satisfying. We don't let it be, we'll try to fix but it might take longer than we'd like..."
This is unacceptable as far as I'm concerned for a paid app, ezPDF can cope well with pdfs, but the interface is the equivalent of an ageing digital turd.

It does support OPDS though. Depending on where you get your books it is supported

Thanks for the hint... now I just need to get the part working after login (I am always sent to the web site instead of showing the content of the private section inside the app).
As Aldiko still just closes all support requests without answering, I contacted Google for a refund. And I got the refund.
So, as a result people should clearly thing before buying Aldiko with regard to the support policy and the behaviour in fixing bugs.
I like iReader Pro, has no problems with everything I throw at it (epub, prc, mob), works well.
It is free on the p[lay store and has no ads that I've seen. Liked it from Gingerbread over Aldiko...
Give it a shot... Price is right...
I used to use Moon reader, but now I tend to just upload my drm free books to google play and use the play book reader. It syncs, it reads to you (with ivona voice amy, it's tolerable) and it stays in your cloud library. And it has the smoothest 3d page turn animation. I usually end up buying a Kindle ebook, use calibre plug in to dedrm in windows then convert to epub then either upload to google play on the pc, or upload it later when accessing my calibre library with the calibre companion app.

Try cool reader. Its not as fancy as others but it has more settings than any other reader. You can really adjust your reading environment. It also supports tts. I own the others but i usally use cool reader.

Until they get it fixed you might try fbreader. Been using it for quite a while now without issue.
