http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1389873 gives me a 404 error. The link to download the image for the 4 inch Player works great. Haven't gotten mine into a bootloop yet. Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks For That it is now fixed.

Had to use this tonight after something went wrong using Clockwork recovery to make a backup on my US 4.0.
Worked perfectly. Thanks so much for this.

Thanks glad to help.

Is this completely stock, or is there a few mods. made to the kernel?
Sent from my YP-G70 using XDA App

I think it is stock it only contains factoryfs and kernel so the boot and all the other files are done by your device once you click factory reset.

This is the same ROM as this... There are still a few Mods that were made. Please post on how to remove the mods from this link, so other people know about them. As for the 4.0 I have no idea if it is the same story.

Thanks for this, saved my butt after doing a nandroid backup with CWM that resulted in bootloops.

i could hug you right now....saved my US 4.0 GP. just had to clear data and cache after it booted

Does anyone still have this file? I tried the link but it's not working. Wanted to give this a shot before I sent it in to get fixed.

[Q] I may have bricked my phone

My phone is stuck at the SAMSUNG boot screen part, it displayed the boot sound but that was it.
I downloaded the wrong phone version of this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892297
I can't get back into my phone, is there anyway to restore what I had.
I made a titanium backup and a nandroid backup aswell.
I've made relatively stupid mistake like you. (Not that we are stupid, but Newbie @ this whole phone stuff).
The best way to unbrick the bricked phone is by reinstalling the rom, which will wipe out the data on your phone (but better than having bricked phone eh?)
This step only applies if your phone is "ROOTED"
Follow the instruction in this post
"http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948679"
If you do exactly what is says you will have your phone back!
If you could, go over this in plain english for me.
I am in download mode but this dosen't make any sence
"and flash modem via Odin. Use pda button"
Ok now I went in the recovery mode and reset factory settings.
was that a bad idea?

You need to download the odin file onto your computer, then get your phone in download mode and open up odin on your computer. Next use pda button to flash the modem file that you downloaded. Sorry, can't give you links as I am not at my computer.

Would doing a factory reset on the phone (via the button method) void any chance of flashing the TW rom?
You are probably still going to have to use ODIN to get your phone back.
Download the 3 files from the link in post #2
Open ODIN on your computer. Pull out battery from phone, hold DOWN VOL and plug phone into USB. Once ODIN recognizes your phone, click PDA and select the modem file and click start.
Once finished, put battery back in, hold UP VOL, DOWN VOL, and power to get into CWR. Select install zip from SDcard, choose zip, scroll down to the correct file and hit the power button to install the ROM.
Do step 2 for the CW package and reboot.
That should get you going.

I kniw s/he said it but to clarify on this part make sure you use the PDA button. This is very important. It's very easy to mess that part up if you are still new.

Now I'm having a problem with Odin, it's stuck at the stage that says
<1> setup connection...
it sits here for some time, is there anything I'm doing wrong that would cause this?
Ok guys I fixed it.
For future people reading this thread.
I used Odin v1.3 and the D101.package3.tar.md5 files.
Congratz on your fix. I'm sorry I didnt state how to Unbrick ur phone clearly. I was In hurry .
This method applies to all of the BRICKED phone. Take it from someone who bricked twice and soft brick.

I tried reflashing the miui rom now (at the advice of someone else) and now My phone is just stuck on the vibrant screen and i can't even get into recovery. Please help if anyone can.

Try holding only the bottom button and power to get into recovery.
You might have to odin to stock. This is an one click too.

To get into download mode unplug your phone, take out your battery. Put the cable into your computer, hold the vol - and +, plug into your phone then insert the battery. (Put battery case on too so it does not fall out.)
It will revert you back to factory. Root it using it as well (using the tool), and then download miui from rom manager.
Let me know if you need anymore help.
I made this MIUI install guide for my GF at the time it's broken down in the simplest terms humanly possible so if the guide sounds like it's mocking you, well it's not it's just designed for people who have no idea what there doing, aka My ex lol follow it to A T starting with Odining to stock. Links to all files needed are embedded in the document itself.

Note about odin it's reasonably self explanitory
open the program check ONLY these boxes
Repartition
Auto-Reboot
Reset Time
Select the "pit" button choose
512.pit
select the "PDA" button Choose
T959UVJFD.tar
turn phone off
press and hold Vol+ and Vol- now plug in usb that should enter you into Download mode and odin should find the device press start and wait for the phone to finish the process
now follow the guide on installing MIUI.

Odin out of it as said above, you need to get your partitions right. If you come back flash straight from a 2.2 rom like (bionix)
yeah i would love to do that but unfortunately when i go open oden and go into download mode the computer can't recognize my phone due to the drivers being changed to the nexus 1 drivers (that's what i've gathered from doing research). And I can't find anywhere to download the nexus 1 drivers....

I recently updated my phone to the ICS (official) via the OTA update and i found i could NOT install 3rd party versions of software
So i rebooted into odin mode where i then installed the rom i origanaly had then it got stuck at the boot screen with the yellow triangle
So i rebooted into ODIN and re flashed to the origanal XWKF3 i origanaly used
Then i rebooted to the recovery mode then tried to install the rom (update.zip) and it errors saying E:failed to verify whole-file signiture. and E:Signiture verifacation failed, Installation FAILED
It wont no matter what i do play ball so here it is WHAT CAN I DO besides throw it against a wall verrrrrry f in g hard and hope it smashes into millions of lille bits .....
It is making me ill i tell ya
So if anyone can help it would be so appreciated and i would donate £20 to there happy funds they can buy a case or something nice with ........
EDIT:: now it wont respond to ODIN odin sees it but sticks at setting up connection then fails
Also when starting ODIN mode on the phone it says ODIN MODE , PRODUCT NAME SHG-I777 (this was one of the roms i tried) and wont change no matter what rom i try... custom binary says YES (9 counts) CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
cheers again

Enter: ok key, select :vol up / vol down
reboot system now
apply update from sd card (this is where i get the signiture errors)
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

What version of the sgs2 do you have? You may have flashed a ROM for the wrong model.

I only wish i knew i thought it was the I9100 with XWKF3 tar but i am obviosly wrong and all the kernels in XDA links dont work so cant get the uk o2 ones
Is there anyway of finding out withought having to have a working phone ie through the serial etc..
It is an unlocked phone
I have it on o2 and it is british not imported
Cheers i wish i was clued up about this
The first time i rooted it when i got it it all worked well no problems and i then flashed back to the origanal rom and it worked well got all updates and was still rooted
After ICS i see i could not install some apps i had so i flashed a new insacure rom and thats where it all began
IS IT BRICKED SHOULD I SELL IT AS FAULTY
No, as your phone still turns on.
First boot back into the recovery you have now, and factory reset and wipe the cache.
Then to revert back to stock head over to the galaxy s2 forums, then into original Android development, then head into the official firmware page, and flash one of the firmwares listed there with Odin.
Hope that helps

No, don't add that PIT file. Just post the log messages from ODIN.
EDIT:
Also try following things:
1. Make sure you're in download mode and your screen shows "Downloading..." text.
2. Take out your battery for 5 minutes and put it back.
3. See if the phone charges in power off mode. If yes, make sure it's charged enough, at least 30%.
4. Can you go into Recovery mode? Try pressing Volume Up + Home Button + Power Button simultaneously to enter into recovery mode. If you're able to get into recovery mode, you can flash the update-cm-9-20120331-CODEWORKX-galaxys2-signed.zip file from there. See if that works for you.
5. Possible post a screenshot of ODIN where it's stuck.

Right now, you've installed CyanogenMod ROM of Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 version of Android. It doesn't have Kies in it as it's a version from google, more clean and bloatware free. If you want, you can go back to Samsung Version to use Samsung Kies. All you need to do is to download and follow the instructions from following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487
Alternatively, here are instructions to import it into without Kies.
there is one way i found
1. open Kies
2. open your last saved *.spb file
3. save the file again as *. vsf manually in the file name area
4. go to were normally saved spb files ( C:\Users\ _\Documents\samsung\Kies\PIMS)
5. you will find all the contacts saved as vsf file.
6. select all contacts and copy them in a directory (ontacts)
7. connect your samsong to the pc and copy the directory (cotacts) in to the sd card
8. disconect your samsong
9. select the contact icon
10. from the left key press and select import contact from sd
job done

Thank you so very much. My device seems to be working very well now. Normally, I am very savvy at learning new things. This time, however, I did not spend enough time playing with my very first Android before I went about bricking it. I bought accidental replacement coverage for my Galaxy 5.0 and did not want to dip it into pea soup to get a new one. I felt it would be dishonest to do such a thing. I registered to this site just to thank you. Great work and best wishes.

[Q] Samsung S2 ICS rom suddenly stuck on load screen.

Please please please could anyone help!
About a month ago I upgraded to Ice cream sandwich (LP7) and then rooted my S2. All worked fine for 3 or 4 days and then suddenly it crashed for no reason. I suspect, but am not sure, that it did an automatic update. On rebooting it just stops at the Samsung S2 screen with a yellow triangle.
For the last few weeks i have been trying to find a fix, but am at my wits end now.
I have gone through the different solutions on your site but to no avail also where mine seems to be different is that I can get into boot mode and odin always says its successful. I have tried different pc and usb cable too just in case that was an issue
I can not get into Volume up mode, but i can get into boot mode with volume down. I have tried re loading a few different rom's and Odin says that the transfer was successful each time, however it is still stuck at the same place on reboot.
Tried reloading kernel and re partitioning, and again Odin said it went OK, but still stuck on start screen.
Tried using a jig and turned phone on, but it the phone just went to the start screen again.
If i could just get into reset mode, i could clear the memory, but this is not working either.
If anyone could help i would be very so grateful.
Thanks
Terry

You need to flash a ROM that will wipe your data at once.
Is your phone GT I9100 or GT I9100G?

That is a special .tar edition. You simply flash it just like a single file firmware (as PDA).
Good luck

I think your data partition is corrupt, but you can still get it solved.
You need to special .pit file. I'll post you the link (for the .pit file and instructions) very soon
Try this it worked for me

A Windows PC
Your phone’s USB cable
7-Zip, WinRAR, or any other programs that can extract archive files
Handset USB drivers installed on the PC. You may install the drivers by installing Samsung Kies.

Click on the PHONE button and select MODEM_I9100XXLQ5_REV_02_CL1165929.tar.md5 file. The file should show on the space beside the Phone button.
Click on the CSC button and select the GT-I9100-MULTI-CSC-OXALQ5.tar.md5file. The file should show on the space beside the CSC button.
Don’t alter anything else in Odin. Leave everything else as is, except for adding the files mentioned in steps 7 to 9.
Click on the Start button in Odin to start flashing the firmware to your phone.
After the flashing completes, your phone will automatically reboot. You should be able to get a “PASS” message on the top left part of Odin.
NOTE: If you get a FAIL message or Odin gets stuck, disconnect your phone from the PC and close Odin. Remove the battery from your phone, re-insert it, and place your phone into Download Mode again. Open Odin and do the procedure starting from step 6.
Once you see the Samsung logo on your phone’s screen, you can safely disconnect your phone from the PC.

Try this I did and it worked to get mine booting after a bad update.
I messed around with it using several methods of getting it to boot into download mode until I finally got it to do it. I think I left it plugged into the USB, powered it down until I saw the charging screen, then I proceeded to play with the different ways to hold the buttons to get it to download mode. If you are persistent enough and read a little on booting methods to get bricked phone into download mode you will succed if not then your not for the world of trial and error... the main thing is do the first steps I said before until it works
1. Get into Download Mode (WITH THE PHONE PLUGGED IN) by following the steps below
*Turn off the phone until you get to the charging battery screen (keep in mind, your phone is currently PLUGGED IN)
*Press volume up and down, and power all at once.
*As soon as the screen turns black, release your power button.
2. Unplug phone from USB
or try
2. Remove everything from your phone (SD card, sim, battery).
3. Plug your phone into your computer WITHOUT the battery, as you have already taken it out in the last step.
4. Press and HOLD vol. up and vol. down.
5. As you are HOLDING these buttons, reattach your battery.
6. You should be in Download Mode.
7. Unplug phone from USB
any how try try try until it works
Once in download mode
Get your files together for your phone, and use Odin 1.85.
Plug into Odin and make sure it shows yellow and its added!
1. Now if your files have like 3 files and the exact .pit file for your phone if available.
I found mine here (Find yous stock firmware for your phone)
2. Click the PIT button and browse to your exact .pit file for your phone *It should now have added a check in the re-partition box under the options area of the Odin window. If not CHECK IT!
***If you don't have your .pit don't worry about this unless you suspect, or have a bad partition
3. If you have just 1 file just click the PDA button and load the file. If you have 3 then you will load the PDA file in PDA, the Modem file into PHONE, and the CSC file into CSC, there are way too many phones to link all the files so get you stuff together!
4. Now hit start.
5. When done and the phone shows the first sign of starting up IE Logo or whatever... immediately unplug the battery from the phone to shut it down.
6. Now put it back in and start it in Upload mode by pressing Vol Up, Home at the same time then the Power button.
7. As soon as the phone shows the first sign of starting up IE Logo or whatever let go of all buttons and using the Vol Up down Choose the Clear Cache option and go through and make sure you factory reset it if you can just for good measure.
8. Reboot
9. Now when the phone shows the first sign of starting up IE Logo or whatever take out battery again to power off
10. Now put it back in and start it in Download mode by pressing Vol Down, Home at the same time then the Power button.
11. Once in download mode Hook up to Odin again and flash it with a root kernel for your phone. Do not ask me just find it. I did it took time but I got all the files together over several days of reading and collecting the correct ones.
12. When done and the phone shows the first sign of starting up IE Logo or whatever... immediately unplug the battery from the phone to shut it down.
13. Now put it back in and start it in Upload mode by pressing Vol Up, Home at the same time then the Power button.
14. In most roots you will now have a advanced or mounting options and more options to use.
15. I cleared the Cache again, Cleared the Davilik Cache, Went into a option and actually mounted the cache formatted the Cache.
16. Use the option now to restart the phone...
And mine started up installed the apps and I am up and running, nice and smooth and no issues so far
I hope this helps out someone whos just about to go off the deep end, as I was there and patience and trial and error came up with this step by step way to recover mine. Thank me by hitting the little thumbs up THANKS button below this post.
And if your so happy your phone is up show your appreciation by buying me a Pepsi
