[Q] Anyone have widget locker problems with CM7? - Motorola Droid X2

Is anyone else having problems with widget locker? Sometimes it'll randomly stop working and the screen becomes black except for the status bar, then I get a popup that it's frozen so I hit force close and i have to hit force close for it close. I usually have to reboot after it closes for it to work properly again.
Anyone else having similar issues?

Yes I'm having problems as well lots of force closes... what do u mean "widget locker"? When an app or anything really malfunctions open the app drawer and long press the app. It will pop up a little box, click app info and then u can force it to stop.. this should alleviate the need for reboot..

Widget Locker is an app. It's a lockscreen replacement. For some reason money FC's and freezes a lot. Its the only thing that's giving me problems.

I seem to have that issue with "money" a lot also.
Sorry couldn't help my self. Sorry you are having issues, but I can't run WL even on stock... it's very buggy for me.
GL, Slim!

I have noticed CM7 and MIUI both have problems with Super User keeping the permissions set for apps that require root access. I find a lot of the apps that require root permissions act this way. Try turning off root helper in widget locker settings if you have that enabled and see if it still happens.

i did have an issue with giving root access to widget locker. the app would freeze, but once I did a reboot and tried again it worked. Now the only issue I have is I can not expand the notification window from the lockscreen. Never had an issue on stock GB, or using eclipse rom. but with CM7 i can not get to the notification window from the lockscreen.

oh oopsies sorry about the typo i just realized. anyways, i'll try the disabling root permissions when i get a chance. its comforting somehow to know that it's not just me

I have the same issue. Disabling the Root Helper fix it.

[Q] cant stop 2nd message notification

I recently started having this problem where I keep getting 2 notifications for texts after using 2.1
I use handscent sms and turned off all notifications from the default messaging app but they both still notify me of a new text. Its annoying itll vibrate twice, ringer twice. plus I cant even get the default sms thing in the notification bar to go away unless I manually clear it. Never had this problem for the months I had this phone before the update.
Anyone come across this or know how to fix it?
(oh and I tried a search but the xda search engine is down, it's down like 50% of the time I try to use it, so please no harsh remarks about a repeat post if this is one)

Google always works.
google brought me right to this post. so at least the next guy with this problem will be able to fix it if anyone has an answer....? I cant be the first one with this stupid double notification.
seemingly, after disabling notifications, removing the messages shortcut from the homescreen does the trick, although i havn't tried this myself.
you wont loose the messaging its still in your APPS list.
just tried it and it does work

I had the problem for the longest time. I eventually found out that it was the SMS widget in Beautiful Widgets that was causing the problem, even though you hadn't activated it. Uninstall Beautiful Widgets and see if it works.

i had the same problem a while back too. and by disabling the notifications it still didn't work. what i ended up doing was clearing the SMS center number under network settings and retyping it in manually. worked like a charm

Google + Icon issue

I have two apps Google+ and Dolphin Browser which have both gone to a generic app icon for some reason on my home screen. Have any of you experienced this? If so any known cause and fix?
If you have them installed on the SD card move them to the phone then restart, that should fix it.
this happens because they are on the sd.
if you want to keep them on sd, then when you reboot just change your skin and it will fix it. then you can change it back
Get fast boot from the market lot easier that changing skins

Widget Locker bug?

Hi guys,
I recently bought Widget Locker, but it doesn't work properly I think..
When I activate it, even thought I select the 'keep in memory' option, it goes away right after unlocking.
So everytime I have to select it again... Pretty annoying so return to stock slider.
CM7 FXP049 Rom with unlocker BL.
Somebody with the same problem, or solution? Otherwise I have to report it to the developer in market.
Beautiful app, so I want it to work!
Thanks!
Bye!
Installed NoLock, deleted and installed Widget Locker again and worked perfect
Temporary error I suppose!
No lock usually fixes these kind of problems in all lockscreen apps
Very useful

I had the problem where every time I use Advanced Task Manager to kill apps (widgetlocker was ignored) widgetlocker somehow stopped working and it reverted to stock lockscreen.
No Lock helped, thanks for that hint

Apex Launcher crashes

I'm having some trouble with my launcher of choice, Apex.
Every now and then it will crash, leaving me with a black screen. The screen will remain black and the phone unresponsive for around 10 seconds. Then I'm thrown back to my home screen.
I'm assuming that it's Apex crashing, but there is no error message or dialog box of any kind, so I can't be sure.
This often happens if I click the back button multiple times to get out of an app, or when I am using an app and then click my home button. It does this with many different apps.
Is there any way I can start troubleshooting this? Logs of some kind? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm using apex (pro) and it works fine, maybe you clicking back several times is just making the app FC or just brain-farting android.
I have the Pro version too. And yeah at first I thought it was me causing it, since the last Android phone I had was running Eclair and I thought that maybe ICS doesn't like back button mashing... But the black screen also happens if I background an app using the home key.
It's really a shame because I'm loving Apex.

Hmm well that's really weird. Do a backup in apex, then force stop, clear data, uninstall and then reinstall it. See if you still have the problem. Also, see if the "keep in memory" option is checked, this should prevent things like this, or it having to load again when coming back from another app.
I had the same issues with apex, couldn't figure out what exactly caused the problems...for that reason I'm on go launcher for now.

It seems like this has solved my problem! It was unchecked, so I checked it and now it seems fine! You the man!
DidnĀ“t solve it here, as said above, it is already checked. Maybe an update will solve these problems in near future, it is really sad that apex suffers here.
It appears I spoke too soon, Apex still crashes/freezes for me.
I also tried Nova Launcher and it does the same thing.
I keep very few apps backgrounded, and I have removed a lot of bloatware. My phone should be a lean, mean machine... I guess I just have to live with it, maybe in the future a custom ROM will solve it.
If you guys check your logcat logs, you'll see evidence of apex crashing. I already contacted the developers and they said it's a known issue but are still looking into it. For now I'm using go launcher.. not so smooth, but lots of features
Had the exact same issues, switching to Nova solved the problem for me.
Yup same problem, back on touchwiz for now.

I want NOT to be advised an app is closing or is busy with anooying popups!

Hi
I'm just looking for a simple answer: how to NOT be advised that an app is closing or is busy with that annoying popups???
When I (try to) play Dead Trigger on my xmp, sometimes I get totally stucked (and killed-by-zombie-by-bites-and-fists) because of popups that steal focus to nicely inform me that a background or foreground (like launcher) app is busy or has been closed in an inusual way, and I MUST click "ok" to go forward!
GHHRRRRR!!!!!!!
I just would this: dear Android, kill all the fkkk apps you want but do not advise me please, I want just continue fragging!
Is there a way to avoid these annoying popups, then?
Thanks to all, bye.

go to Settings/Developer options and uncheck "Show all ANRs"!
Hi
well, deselecting that option, all good for now...
Thanks very much... me almost n00b here.
Hi
In must say it works only half: when an app closes, i mean it crashes, the same i have a "confirmation" popup; less then before, but sometimes happens.
No way to suppress these popups at all?

when foreground apps is crashed android automaticly shows report! and when you uncheck ANRs you actually disabling reports for background apps! try uninstall some apps which use lot of ram and you will see if your problem is solved!
Hi
Unfortunally, one of the app that crashes when I play is Xperia Home (a modified version developed here on xda).
My workaround is to switch launcher before playing.
There's no prop or parameter changing it I suppress all alerts?
try RAM managers option "lock home in memory"!
I HAD TO uninstall ram manager, this was ordered by supercharger!
Well, perhaps I really have to try to lock launcher in memory in some way...
Supercharger have that option too! Well.. Good luck!!!
