Sixaxis just updated today!!!
What's in this version:
Version 0.5.0:
Native Android Gamepad support on 3.1+ devices!
Fix for Motorola Xoom and Transformer Prime
(https://market.android.com/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller)
What this means is that you can use a ps3 controller over bluetooth just as easily if it were plugged into the usb! Analog joystick usage over bluetooth! Ex: controller now works seamlessly with gta 3! Also, it looks like the dev fixed the touch mapping issues for the prime (although I haven't tested that yet).
I am excited (if you couldn't tell), but I just wanted to let anyone else know who has been waiting or wanting this feature. Head over to the devs thread if you have any questions and give him thanks/donate!

Nice...I'll check it out over the weekend when I have a bit more time.

The way you're working with it in the background is like a digital mapping to keys. Pure analog on the joysticks and triggers hasn't been working that way, as far as I know.

Soulctcher basically hit the nail on the head, but just to reiterate the main benefits:
-Analog support (aka joysticks can give input of small step left vs. large step left).
-Support for games that don't have button mappings, but work with controllers. For instance, GTA 3 does not have button mapping, so you either had to use touch emulation (which was broken on the prime, previously) or test every keyboard key to try and find all the buttons and then map sixaxis to those (no one had found all of them).
-Plug and play with modern games. Most games now have support for usb gamepads so with this you don't have to worry about remapping the buttons for every game.
There is probably more benefits, but that it what comes to mind. Also, the dev added mouse emulation support a couple of days ago (ex: use the right joystick to control mouse movements in an FPS).

I wonder if N64oid has automatic mapping over BT...
You need to go into the sixaxis preferences and check the box that lets Android 3.1+ see it as a native controller. This was not done by default on mine and it took me a few minutes to work out.
That said, I can't get any apps to detect either triggers (L2 or R2). Shadowgun works as expected with the dual analog but I can't fire the weapon.
Likewise, in N64oid I cannot map anything to either trigger. It prompts to press a button on the controller and every button works except for either trigger.
Anyone else?

In sixaxis, when you go to Key Mappings the only choice under L2/R2 are "Left Trigger" and "Right Trigger". L2 was set to "Left Trigger" and R2 was set to "Right Trigger". This seems correct and there is nothing else to change. In N64oid, as I stated previous, when you try to map the triggers, it's like the OS/game doesn't even see the keypress. Since I am passing the connection to the OS as a native gamepad, it looks to be a bug with that process. Both analog sticks and all buttons except triggers are detected.

I emailed the developer about the triggers.

Good. Hopefully they'll work on that. Having the triggers function, as analog for that matter, is critical.

Yeah it also took me a minute to realize that I needed to enable it. I just started messing around with the native support and N64oid and I do seem the problem with the L2/R2 triggers. Does anyone have the capability to plug the controller in with USB and see what N64oid labels them as? I don't have a dock or adapter, and I am curious if there is a difference in how they label the buttons. Also, there is the ability to remap the buttons within sixaxis, but those triggers only have the option to be left and right (I'm guessing it has to do with them being analog).
Edit: Also you can follow the dev's thread for updates about the issue (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179929&page=81)

I helped Beta test this new feature for Sir_earl for the past few days on my HP Touchpad. Triggers are working fine in Shadowgun and GTA III. So this may be a Transformer Prime issue.

Its not a prime issue, both GTA and Shadowgun work fine. I would assume its a sixaxis/n64oid issue.

Actually, it looks like it is two separate issues. Having a polling rate above 1 (at least on the prime in some cases) causes the triggers to not release correctly. The second issue is the triggers sending a digital vs. analog input, which is not working for N64oid.
Sir_earl will be releasing an update soon that should fix both issues.
I like the new option for Touch Profiles. Very easy to set up. This is my quick setup for GTAIII. Been at work so havent gotten a chance to test drive it but I have done this last night with another game.
First what you need to do is run the game and take a screen shot of the game so you can use it as a background for sixaxis Touch Profiles.
Then open Sixaxis. Go to Preference

}
Then Edit Touch Profiles
Double tap the screen to bring up the menu
Select Change Background
Go to Gallery
Select the screen shot image you just took of the game earlier. Should look like this now.
Now double tap the screen and add your buttons
Lay your new buttons on top of the game screen buttons accordingly to what buttons you want to assign each on screen button
There's gonna be the accelerator and brake but I think it will use the run and jump on screen button so you can use the same button on the controller so there no need to create buttons for those.
Then lastly save it
(double tap screen then save)
is it NECESARY to root the prime in order to use this software? I am dying to use the ps3 controller, but i don't think I should root my prime jsut yet... since i might be returning it to best buy in a few weeks due to some imperfections with my prime... any thoughts?
thanks in advance
Just a couple of notes:
- I'm aware of the trigger issue and will be fixing this within 24 hours.
- When creating touch profiles, it will probably work better if you actually leave to action bar in the screenshot. I hope to come up with a more clear solution to this, as many people are removing it.
- The analog stick touch button should be resized to match the on-screen joystick (select and drag the green ring).
- Yes, root is required by just about every feature the app supports!
I literally just bought the $50 Logitech F710 controller that Asus sent out with the Prime to all of the reviewers.
Still, the DS3 is a better controller than that--and smaller--so I am absolutely THRILLED about this! I just hope Fry's will accept a return considering I had to cut open that stupid blisterpack to get to it.
This app went from pretty sweet to AWESOME.

I'd suggest you abandon this thread and base one in the Dev forum where the "iron fist" rules can apply.
IMO, this unmoderated sub-forum is going to have your thread go to hell ...

I agree but the same iron fist would keep this out of the dev section because there is no development happening.
If the mods feel like it should be in the dev then someone please move it

Are you doing a pre or post ICS? For me, I will wait for ics to come out before rooting. Then ill play with ICS heavily before adding a ROM.
-Over clocking all 4 cores to 2ghz a piece, if possible. For some serious horse power to compete with newer tablets coming down the road. Of course needs to be stable or doesn't overheat n melt the device..lol
-some sort of uploader for native browser or even compatible with 3rd party browser. For ex. Safari on my iPad couldn't upload or download on stock setup. With jailbreak n Cydia, I have safari downloader, which enables download manager in native browser, and safari uploader. Which allows me to upload something thru the browser by accessing device files. Ex. I go to a site I need to upload resume. I just click on upload link on page, then it accesses my files. Then I search for resume, click on it , and proceed to upload.
-Some sort of futuristic theming around Transformer prime, movie or whatever. Completely changes the look up to a more high tech device.
-optimize and increase camera/video quality even more, if possible. I know it's already good, but could be a way to raise MP rating through software adjustments.
-an app like g power, available from Cydia for JB iPad. I double tap the top of screen(through activator) and it brings up quick menu to power down, reboot, or respring(if that applies to android). Or maybe just subtle gestures to access important features of device or apps.
-make skype and any other video chat apps that don't work with prime, work
-Tegra 3 supports 3d. Maybe make a way to enable 3D mode, with or without 3d glasses.
-see if any ways to optimize/beef up the gpu even more.
-maybe a way to download and install IOS tablet apps/games through an emulator or some other way. So we have access to even more apps, especially since IOS tablet only apps far outnumber androids.
-dual boot capabilities , possibly windows
-hack pad tool set..lmao
-a special feature, cybertron mode, that whenever Prime is in vicinity of an IOS device, we can disable and shut it down. Then we go over n show off how cool the prime is and enable that device to run run again. Showing that we can amd did, fix the device wirelessly or if you want it completely disabled for life, so be it.
Just throwing stuff out there, I'll update this post as I come up with more ideas.

I'm sure that people will overclock it, but I don't think we need it at this point considering that even with stock, the TFP will likely annihilate anything currently out. It won't have to compete with any other tablets for a long time.

Many phone/tablet ROMS can already do this; all you have to do is hold the power button to bring up the menu.

Completely impractical. iOS is not open source like Android, and even ignoring Apple coming down on anyone that attempts to do it, the architecture for the two are completely different, so even emulating it isn't something that can be done. At the risk of exaggeration, building a rocket to the moon sounds more plausible.

Someone will do it eventually, I think.
Suggestion or aquestion of viability since I have no idea what you can really do developing a rom.
Some sort of "stylus mode" where large touches from your palm don't get registered and mess up your writing for all those apps that using a stylus is nice but don't have palm recognition.
There's something i think fits both transformer tablets perfectly: A native android IDE. Developing for Android and testing it in the same tablet you're coding on the fly. No need for an additional device.
As far as ROMs go.... i still don't have the prime so i can't see what should be changed
+1 on the stylus mode.
usb support. I'll try to explain. whatever needs to happen to make the usb adapter work like a "real" usb port like on the Iconia A500. I wanna use flash drives and the remote control dSLR app to controll my camera. If that isn't already built into ICS.
Not too crazy on the tweaks. I've noticed the more tweaks in cooked roms the more custom problems there are.
Glad you're starting early.

NVM my last post.......what HE said....
tried to deodex the system, but im getting really wierd errors.. i htink its honeycomb related buttt.
Is it possible to have a four finger swipe function on the ROMs for the transformer to switch recent applications or to look at the recent apps like the iOS? i.e. As was previously asked gesture based OS would be pretty nice..
Also possibility of overclocking and undervolting, mainly the companion core for the background tasks which might improve the response further.. It is pretty good in comparison to old tablets from what the demos show but I guess bumping up the 500MHz 5th core could possibly help mundane tasks?
GPU improvements would be absolutely great- as previously mentioned..
Also perhaps a possibility of changing color saturation on the screen (in addition to the already present brightness- akin to settings on laptop GPUs)?
I see from a lot of demo photos in review sites that the camera gives a slightly reddish tinge to the photos- in comparison to the photos from Galaxy tab- it will be great to have some sort of a s/w fix to improve the quality..
As mentioned before, stylus mode would be very nice..
Possibly some sort of audio processing (like beats audio processing on the HTC sensation android revolution ROMS)..
i would say make a couple themes for it now but mainly study the ICS source code so that when it lands on the prime you can make the best ROM's possible and release them quicker. but im all for a windows 8 theme as long as it truly looks like windows 8 which im not sure if you can do without a launcher but i think windows 8 if it's good will finally convince me to switch from mac

A transformer silhouettes or style theme (doesn't have to contain pictures of the primes or what not) or maybe a 2 tone theme of cybertron very stylized so it's clean and slick.
Excuse me if there are themes like this out already (regardless I would like to do so 2 tone art work) and I would like some old school transformer sound bytes in there for transitions. I'm envisioning more of a theme of what a computer UI would look like on cybertron or to a transformer and not just a generic cartoon theme. =)
As far as I'm aware nothing like this currently exists, and it's become all the more desirable with devices such as the transformer/prime. I keep my keyboard set to the Asus keyboard to ensure complete compatibility with the dock, but when I undock it I prefer to use Swype. It would be awesome if there was an app/setting that could detect the dock and change my input settings accordingly.
+1
Nice one. Just half an hour ago i was looking for the same thing without finding anything... This would help i imagine something that is automated or with a widget for the desktop. So I can plug in the dock hit the widget and the IME is switched.
Btw I think this is my first xda post written with the transformer prime. OMG this is sooo good!!!
I need this app too
But this App requires root, I think. It is impossible to change the standard keyboard programmatically.
see here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3916184/android-set-default-keyboard
As a UK user the need is equally as acute even basic symbols (£, @ etc.) are on different positions on UK keyboards. The dock has them in the correct place, but use anything other than the Asus software keyboard and the whole thing gets messed up!
theres a wii mote app i used on my PoV Mobii that changes to selected keyboard on disconnect without the need for root...
Tasker?
I have yet to venture into tasker on the tablet yet but I am guessing you could get it done with this app. Very functional automation tool for android.

Behold! Keyboard manager! The app you seek!
You'll have to search the market for "keyboard manager" since I'm not allowed to post links yet...
Recently open-sourced, but not before the author added support for hardware keyboard detection. I had to dock/undock a couple times after activating the app to get everything peachy. Be sure to select the keyboard you want for all 3 options - portrait, landscape, and hardware. This DOES require ROOT.

Be sure to select the keyboard you want for all 3 options - portrait, landscape, and hardware. This DOES require ROOT.

everything still going good with that app? sent my prime back, looking for another and just learning in the meantime, hence i cant try it lol
Keyboard Manager is confirmed working on my rooted Android 4.0.3 Prime. I have my tablet keyboard set as Thumb Keyboard 4 and my hardware keyboard as the default Asus keyboard for dock compatability.

Sorry for the delay!
I'm a bit useless with tasker, but the trigger action is 'keyboard out'
Keyboard manager is a great app and works perfectly.
Hey guys and gals, I made this thread so we can share our touch profiles with other people. I will be posting new profiles from time to time (see 2nd post). If you want to post your profiles please remember to post a link to your .map files and write a small guide explaining what each button does.
How to use .map profiles
1) Download the desired .map profile for the game you want to use (right click the link and "select save link as...")
2)Put the .map file in /sdcard/data/com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller/profiles/
2) Then in the Sixaxis Controller app choose the desired touch profile from the drop-down menu. (right under the "Pair Controller" button)
3) Enjoy the game.
If you need help making a profile for a specific game, just post here asking for help. I will get the game and try to make a working profile for it. Also if you find any problems with the controls please post your problems or suggestions so I can fix or implement them. I haven't been able to play all games extensively yet, so the controls are not expected to be perfect.

Controls needs to be set to "Touch"
Left Analog: Controls movement
R1: Fire Primary Weapon
L1: Fire Secondary Weapon (in my case missiles)
L2: Fast Forward when locked navigation
Square: Change View (behind, front)
Triangle: Open menu options for secondary weapons and squad actions
Cross: Assigned to a secondary action (see picture)
Select: Open menu for locations close to you
Start: Pause
Note: When opening menus, eg Select and Triangle, you will need to use your fingers to select between the different options.
Nova 3 Download profile
You will need to set your control to "Control Scheme 3" for it to work correctly.
Left Analog: Controls movement
Right Analog: Controls aim
R1: Fire
R2: Secondary weapon (grenade, etc.)
R3: Blow up mine
L1: Scope Aim
L2: Sprint
Square: Reload
Triangle: Power thingy (push, slowmo, etc)
Cross: Jump
Circle: Change between secondary weapons (e.g. grenades, mines, etc)
D-pad Left: Change weapon left
D-pad Right: Change weapon right
D-pad Up: Change power right (slowmo, push, etc.)
D-pad Down: Change power left (slowmo, push, etc.)
Start: Pause
As far as I can tell the only thing missing would be the zoom in zoom out when using the scope on a sniper rifle.
Six Guns Download profile
You need to lock your V-pad in the game options for it to work correctly.
Left Analog: Controls movement
Right Analog: Controls aim
R1: Fire
R2: Call Horse (Mount and Unmount)
L1: Scope Aim
L2: Horse Sprint
Square: Reload

Cross: Roll
D-pad Left: Change weapon left
D-pad Right: Change weapon right

Left Analog: Controls movement
Right Analog: Controls primary attack (attack and direction of attack)
R1: Use skill on the right
L1: Use skill on the left
Square: Use potion
Triangle: Change primary attack
Start: Pause
Modern Combat 3 Download Profile
You need to change the control scheme in options to the one to the right of the default controls (it should have 2 virtual joypads one for aiming and the other moving)
Left Analog: Controls movement
Right Analog: Controls aim
R1: Fire
R2: Throw Grenade
L1: Scope Aim
L2: Sprint
L3: Change Stance (crouch or stand)
Square: Reload
Cross: Melee Attack when available
D-pad Left: Change weapon left
D-pad Right: Change weapon right
Start: Pause
It is not possible to make a button for interactions with objects since it is not set in a specific place, you will have to use your finger to activate the action.
Max Payne Download Profile
Left Analog: Controls movement
Right Analog: Controls aim
R1: Fire
L1: Enter bullet time
Square: Action/Use
Cross: Jump/Roll
Triangle: Use Painkillers (you need to double tap it, weird but it works)
Start: Pause
Select: Open weapon menu
In order to change weapons you will have to use your fingers, I wish there was a way to swipe change weapons that way we wouldn't need to use our finger to touch the screen xD. Anyways I'm getting owned in this game only at the second difficulty lvl LOL. I had to lower in game sensitivity It was too sensitive, so if you feel that the aiming is moving to fast try playing around with the in-game control options.
Ok so, when I try and download the MC3 profile it just opens a text file in my browser? do I copy and paste that text into a doc and put it in the specified folder? im confused.
EDIT: I tried both on an Android browser and on a PC, same result. I dont get a download option, just lines of text which I assume are the mappings.
EDITED EDIT: Nevermind, just had to right-click> save as..
sorry for overall worthless post.

does the rom you are using, such as, CM9 versus Stock play a role in allowing controllers to work better. I've followed all instructions on sixaxis homepage, downloaded pairing tool and the final msg i get is: "Listening for controllers" Im wondering if using CM9 would help, what are you using? THanks for any help

I'm using stock rom. Are you rooted? Try going over the steps again, connect your ps3 controller to your computer run the pairing tool. Change the mac adress to the one on your tablet, you can see the mac adress on the bottom left corner when you run the app on your tablet. After that disconnect controller from PC and start the app, when its listening for controllers just press the ps button on your controller (to turn it on) it should be recognized.

Yes I'm rooted, is that a problem? I changed the mac address of the controller on the computer using the pairing tool(on the comp.) ill let u know how it turns out, thanks for the help.
After it says listening, i tap the middle button in the PS3 controller and it says master ..updated... is that the end? ALso, in the beginning it prompts be to disable bluetooth in order to continue, does that sound right to you.
Also, once completed successfully should the controller only display one light?
I was thinking about using a different pairing software but sincei already have a sixaxis PS3 controller it doesnt make a lot of sense to go with something else

in order to get touch emulation working you need root, so you're good there. Yes once the controller is paired only one light should be on and you should a message on the sixaxis controller app confirming it.

Ok added Max Payne its in post #3 after MC3
I'm having trouble getting the Modern Combat controls to work properly. Specifically the aiming function. I loaded the profile, put in the correct control layout for MC3 with two virtual joysticks. I shows that it's working onscreen, but the aiming movement is very slow. It works fine if I swipe my finger there. I've tried messing with the sensitivity in-game and messing with the size of the right analog stick in the sixaxis profile. Nothing helps so far.
Suggestions?

Thats just how the game is, even without a controller. I believe there's a perk/skill-thingy that you unlock around level 8-11 that increases aiming movement speed. So try buying and equipping that. In online multiplayer that is, if you're playing campaign I think you're pretty much screwed :/

No, I have to disagree. What I'm talking about isn't a case of just how the game is. It works okay if I move the virtual stick with my finger, but with touch emulation it is very bad. It moves at a snails pace. It's unplayable.
Sixaxis is an app in the Google Play Store that allows you to use your PS3 Bluetooth controller as a controller for your Android Device.
Difficulty: EASY
Time: Approximately 5 minutes
The process:
Initial setup:
1) Download Sixaxis Controller - Google Play Store
2) Open the app, and in the bottom left corner, take note of the Local Bluetooth Address.
3) Use the Sixaxis Pair Tool to make the Master address of your controller as the Local Bluetooth Address mentioned above (Windows).
To use the app:
1) Open Sixaxis Controller
2) Click on Start
3) Wait until the app says "Listening for Controllers"
4) Press the PS button on the controller
5) Wait for "Client Connected: 1" to appear.
Notes:
To reconnect your controller to your PS3, simply plug it into the PS3 via USB and the Master MAC address will return to that of the PS3.
To turn off your controller, simply select "stop" in the Sixaxis App.
To set up touch profiles:
1) The touch profiles are located in the following folder on the SD Card.
Code:
SD Card\data\com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller\profiles
2) Download the following .map files and place them in the above mentioned folder (If you are browsing this website on your tablet, simply download the .map, and use RootExplorer to copy and paste them from "/SD Card/downloads" to the folder above.
3) Set the Active Touch Profile as the game you are playing!
I have created some Sixaxis Touch Profiles for certain games I play often on the Touchpad.
Note that I have made the following Touch Profiles the way I like to play the games. If you want to modify the sensitivity or button layout, simply click on the settings button in Sixaxis at the top right, >> Preferences >> Touch Emulation >> Edit Touch Profiles >>, then double tap, >> Load Profile, and dive right in!
Download the Touch Profiles below:
Dead Trigger
N.O.V.A. 3
N64oid
Max Payne
Amazing Spider Man
Sonic (ep 1 or 2)
I will try and add more in the near future. Please hit 'Thanks' if I have helped you out. Cheers!
Say What? OMG you are the best. thanks a lot.
Can you maybe do: The dark night rises and dead space?
THANKS!
I was looking for something like this.. i searched the forums and many other devices have threads like this... great work... i will share some of mine when i manage to get hold of a cable that charges my controller... currently in a remote loaction!
I cannot get the Dark Knight Rises to work, and I have yet to try Deadspace on Android. Maybe you guys can put some profiles together?
When it comes to the Right Analog, make sure to change the button properties to "relative" and "wrap mode". Play around with it, you'll see why.
Awesome thread. However, Dead trigger and Max Payne already have native gamepad support. I love using my DS3 with Dead trigger.
I'm going to try these out when I get home. I tried using my PS3 controller before with Max Payne but the only thing that worked was the left analog stick. Can't wait to test Max Payne out with this.

To make it work, you need to uninstall chainfire3d drivers. Not the app, just it's drivers, that fixes the graphics glitches.
I am using cm9 nightly with not modification at all. Dark Knight Rises 1.0.6

I prefer to have my dead trigger controls match my nova 3 controls. As for Max Payne, the game is finicky with controls. Rockstar did great when applying native controls to GTAIII, can't say the same for the Max Payne Android port.

How well is your left analog input when playing Nova 3? Sometimes on MC3 it won't let my left analog move all the way in the designated area. The right analog works flawlessly when "looking". I might have to re-downlod Nova 3.

It works great. are you talking about the sixaxis profile?
I recommend going into your settings >> developer options >> user interface >> show touches.
It works well when trying to calibrate a sixaxis mapping , as it shows where the buttons are being pressed with relation to the screen. I actually keep that setting on all the time, cuz it looks kinda cool too.

I tried out the Max Payne and Spiderman files last night. The Spiderman file worked pretty good. The only problem was that I couldnt sprint. The fastest I could move was a "jog". Probably due to the fact you have to drag outside of the left analog area in order to jog. Don't know if this can be achieved. As far as Max Payne, The buttons seemed to be a little off and the right analog stick didnt turn. I was able to modify it a bit and get it working a little better but didnt have a lot of time to play with it. I'll probably look into working with it a bit more though. Other than that, it was pretty cool. I found something to play with now. lol

I decided to use your Nova touch profile for MC3. Works flawlessly. Sniping just got so much easier.
I played with the touch emulation a bit last night. I edited the ones that were given here and even made one for The Dark Knight Rises. Max Payne, Spiderman and The Dark Knight Rises all work really well now. If I have time, I can try to upload my .map files to contribute to this.
Please post all edits here and I will add them to the original post! its a community effort! thanks guys!

Q&A
Q: Can I use EdXposed instead?
A: No, it's not working on Switch. Bootloop happens. Might be fixed in future EdXposed version.
Q: I installed PS4 Remote Play Enabler and rebooted, but Play Store does not show me PS4 Remote Play.
A: Clear Play Store's data in the settings app.
Q: There are empty bars on the right side and the bottom of the screen. How can I fix it?
A: You should disable navigation bar. Simply done by adding qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 in /system/build.prop or you can use this.
Install third-party gesture app like Full Screen Gestures or Gesture Control before disabling navigation bar!!
Q: I want to use v2.5.0 or above.
A: Update Remote Play Assistant to latest version from Xposed repo.
Q: I have issue with l2 & r2.
A: Update Remote Play Assistant to latest version and do not long press but click them while remapping.

Wow wait.. so this should technically also work on nvidia shield tv using any other controller?... without those annoying on screen buttons?
I've been searching for quite some time for such a solution and you just pull up some korean xposed module and say this works? Awesome!
I have v2.6.0 working except I cannot register any controller.
In Magisk I installed the Sony framework v1 module. This also adds some Dualshock 3/4 system app.
Then installed ps4 remote play v2.6.0. Without launching the app, in Magisk hide and I hide both the ps4 remote play app and the Dualshock.. app to make it work.
What I want to ask: Are you totally sure, this "korean" xposed module does not work without PS4 Remote Play Enabler module and ps4 remote play app v2.0.0?
Or did you assume, with v2.6.0 you can't even get the app working and streaming? Cause that is possible.

The module does not work with v2.6.0. You can get the ps4 remote app itself working but this module does not work on that version.
Just downgrade to v2.0.0 and try it, then.

Thx, exactly what I wanted to know.:good: And thx for linking to this xposed module!
Confirmed working.
Looks like L2 and R2 (ZL and ZR) only work if you press them for a second or so, otherwise it registers them as axis controls. I guess this is to be expected due to how the buttons work on JoyCons vs. DS4 or am I missing something in the Assistant App?

Yeah this is some funky quirk between how the zl/zr buttons are reported to android (each is a button, and they're also opposite ends of two different axes), and how the app is interpreting whatever weird info it gets from that. I managed to tweak the app's saved configuration file manually while the app wasn't running, to register each button as the positive end of its own axis, rather than being on the same axis, and now the buttons behave properly in the app's gamepad tester. I haven't tried it in Remote Play proper yet, need to get things set up with my ps4. But here's the config file, unzip and put it into Internal Storage/Android/data/com.rAs.android.rpgamepad/files/ - that folder should already exist if you've saved a configuration from the app. Let me know if it works for you.
If you want to edit your own configuration instead (it's just a text file), these are the two lines I changed:
Code:
analog_l2=AXIS_BRAKE|23
and
Code:
analog_r2=AXIS_GAS|22
..I guess you might have button_l2 and button_r2 instead which you'll need to replace.
L2 acts like it's being pressed when it's not & it acts like it's not being pressed when it is pressed. Works fine with an old Ipega controller that I have.

I don't know if it's that or sj33's fix-joycon-triggers.zip (which set the flat values to 2048 instead of 4096), but this time on a fresh install of android, zl/zr just map properly to l2/r2 with no messing around.
This is amazing! Do you know if the developer is trying to get the newer versions to work? Or will this stop working once Sony disables older versions?
What did you do for PS and Share button mapping?

Just use the touch screen for the ps button & share. Use start & select for touchpad & options.
That makes sense actually, I ended up making PS the select and start button at the same time but might make sense to do it the touchscreen way
Well, it seems with the latest version of Magisk Manager, I can't download and install the Xposed Framework, when the app is looking for copies, it crashes. Can someone share his "Xposed_Framework_v90-beta3.zip" please? Thank you.
Protip: if you edit the usual .kl keymap files and replace HOME with BUTTON_MODE, you can map the home button to something (I've now got it mapped to PS, + mapped to Option, and - mapped to touchpad button (for tomb raider). I can probably live without the share button being mapped in most circumstances.

Can we map the screenshot button? If so then the joycons have enough buttons to map all dualshock 4 buttons to.

I haven't managed to so far, it seems like android can't detect it yet. I can generally live without a share button tho.
would this work on a jailbroken ps4?
