yes all data is lost, there is now way to get back after reflashing new software.

yeah.. already do that -.-'

What? CWM keeps data in SDcard, its not lost at all. But if you use SEUS, it will probably upgrade do .62 firmware, wich can't be rooted yet. You still have lots of options (flash back to .58 using whatever you like, wotan, flashtool) or unlock bootloader and flash a kernel with CWM builtin.

flash kernel with in-built CWM and restore, if it didn't work then flash ROM again, go to CWM -> backup and restore -> advanced restore -> choose backup file -> restore data. thats it, your apps will be back.

maybe. but before you unlock bootloader, flash stock kernel and rom via flashtool. you don't need unlocked bootloader to flash stock kernel. then root phone. install CWM and restore data. all apps will be back.

[Q] Rooted phone gets stuck at SE logo

I just rooted my phone using this method, which has been succesful for me earlier.
Everything went fine, and I didn't do anything except for what stated in the post, but when I tried to startup the phone, it gets stuck at the SE logo. Not the text logo, but the logo after the colorfull animation and with the picture logo above of it.
I removed the battery after waiting 10 minutes and I tried again, with the same 'result' (or failure as you wish).
And, yes, I have used the Neo file, not the Arc's. My Neo was running on the latest 4.0.xxxx firmware before rooting.
Should I try:
reflash ROM?
relock bootloader?
flash another ROM
????
Edit:
When charging, the phone also won't get past the green logo, and the LED is not on.
Edit²:
Fastboot mode working, so flashmode if necessary also I guess.
Now retrying from the neo_modded.img
Edit³:
Didn't work, now reflashing stock 2.3.2
Reflash 2.3.2, root with Gingerbreak and update OTA to last 2.3.3
FIXED
now on stock 2.3.2
But, this is XDA, so let's try to flash a pre rooted ROM I just finished downloading.
Hello,
With an unlocked bootlaoder you can flash the 2.3.3 firmware, then install DooMKernel from recovery . That seems Root, Recovery and an Overclock option with the latest stock rom
Phone is working, now checking if rooted.
It was quite easy actually:
flash generic 2.3.3 with flashtool
turn on USB debugging and select device Xperia X10 in the flashtool
in the top menu, click root psneuter
turn phone of, and flash relock bootloader Xperia
update your phone to 2.3.3 using PC companion or SEUS
Hmmm, sure this worked for me once, phone now won't get past a black screen witch lit background, flashmode working. I'll retry.
Fixed, but phone not rooted. I'll leave it this way, non-rooted.
Unlock bootloader. Flash 2.3.4. Flash rootxperia and u got the latest with root. No overclock yet for 2.3.4 but it's all good.

Which firmware version?
Best is to reflash everything and wipe your phone during the process.
Download the X10 flashtool.
I'd recommend this method (only if you have an unlocked bootloader) it's very easy.
here are some additional instructions considering flashtool

Hello All
This is a guide to install the latest version of Android 2.3.4 - MT15i 4.0.1.A.0.283 Global on your NEO and install root access.
(...)
1. Backup your data. (Just in case!)
2. Download the FTF file from here:
http://www.multiupload.com/DGV8GLT1TP
(Thanks to sdk16420 for uploading the update files and thomasafca for making the FTF and uploading!)
3. Flash the FTF file with Flashtool. Unselect 'wipe user data' to preserve data and settings. (You can get flashtool from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000012)

I don't know what firmware, i just know that it's a MT15a...
Which firmware should i use?
I just flashed with the latest 2.3.4 firmware and it's working.
Now i would like to know what tutorial to follow to root my phone with this firmware and don't brick it.
Also, I unlocked bootloader before i flashed, so i don't know, it's still unlocked?

yes, it should be still unlocked.
One : since you unlocked your bootloader, some music add-ons in the stock player won't work anymore, same for TrackID. Replacement for TrackID is Shazam.
Two : DO NOT accept over the air updates, only update using PC companion or Update service on your pc, else your phone will be unusable.
So, here's how to root 2.3.4. It's very easy if you know how to flash.
All your data will be saved, but best is to make a backup just for sure.
Note: just copy the zip to your sd card (when I tried it first, I unzipped it. Had no experience with clockworkmod)
Good luck!
I'm having the same problem. I'm on 2.3.3, unlocked the bootloader, and then flashed rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1281489. What should I do?
Flash back to stock 2.3.3
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QS4A5A7F
I had it too, you can't do anything about it, except cyanogenmod.
Thats my expericence

[q] really really noob question here!

I have a Wt19i with rooted 0.62 stock rom with cwm recovery installed but bootloader is locked. I recently changed the status bar with cwm but i hated it so i want to flash it back but i forgot to make a backup so I want to flash 0.58 again and root it then update it via OTA.
Will the cwm be removed?
Is it bad with locked bootloader with cwm?
Will i use flashtool/seus/pc companion or cwm itself to flash it?
Will it have problems like bootloop or even bricking my phone?

thanks for answering my questions
Can i be sure there will be no boot problems?
i dont think there would be boot problems,
just make sure to wipe dalvik cache and delete all data for a clean install of .58 fw.

Yes, CWM will be removed.
Locked bootloader does not affect CWM at all. You need to unlock only if you want to install custom kernel and/or ROM.
To flash stock firmware, you can use SEUS, Flashtool or Wotanserver.
Chance for a bootloop or bricking is quite low on Android Xperia phones. Although there is chance for some bugs, if you install incorrect firmware via Flashtool.

[SOLVED][HELP] Xperia Mini Bootloop

Hello guys,
I was trying to flash Aeon Xperia S Lockscreen, and after flashing i got bootloop. What shall I do? Should i use:
6. Turning the "brick" into a smartphone
If you had unlocked bootloader and did OTA(Over the Air) update, then you probably ended up with a dead phone, aka brick. Don't worry, it is not completely bricked, still can be saved!
Download UnbrickingXperia2011.zip file from this post below.
Unpack the .zip file and place the .ftf file in Flashtool\firmwares folder.
Open Flashtool.
Get your phone to flashmode, make sure it is turned off, press down Volume DOWN button and connect USB cable.
In Flashtool, click the lightning button, pick Flashmode and choose the Xperia_2011_FreeXperia_ALL.ftf file.
Let Flashtool finish.
Install stock firmware and kernel to your phone.
Remove USB cable from your phone and start your phone.
Try not to brick it again, less problems for you.
Method or something else, because i can't boot recovery because I need to reboot to recovery mode. PLEASE HELP!!!
Are u on UL bootloader. If yes then just flash any other kernel from my signature . Recovery comes with it and flash the custom ROM from the recovery...
if u had made a backup before flashing the lockscreen zip u could have restored from that !! this is exactly why u should make a bckup in recovery before messing with your phone.. the point is always mentioned by the developers in all their works and still we ignore it.

i just repair over PC comparion and twrp gone and all back to stock ( idk if someone in service experts can find that i make custom roms before) but im notice that my recovery dont work, at least when i push vol down and vol up + power
i cant find stock recovery on google im searching for 2 hours

Ojoj u don't understand, Sony phones don't have stock recovery at all, only we can install custom recovery on rooted phone or when we have unlocked bootloader, can we flash custom kernels with implemented recovery, but no one make custom kernel jet, only custom kernels are inside in custom roms like cm 12,cm 13
Aham. Sorry... I was found on net "how to enter in recovery mod" that is why i was think that they have recovery
