After unlocking bootloader using testpoint method did anyone try FOTA (Firmware Over The Air) or using SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service) ?

Can u tell me whre u saw no problem in updating ?
just update your phone using wolten server or flashtool..if you haveunlock bootloader then dont try fota update..its risky
fine, if somethng goes wrong,
i'll flash to stock rom after unlocking, hope it will work
I flashed .62 firmware (rom, kernel, baseband) using PC companion with unlocked bootloader by test point method (in my ST15i mini and in my MT11i Neo V) and nothing wrong happened.
OTA or using SEUS is different of PC companion?
Regards
Bootloader unlock = official unlock from Sony Mobile
Bootloader patch = patched bootloader using test point via s1tool
FOTA update on unlocked bootloader will brick your device

I used the testpoint method in combination with Da Vinci unlock and I have used both PC Companion and SEUS without any problems...
SEUS works on my unlocked STi...
I've also unlocked my bootloader via testpoint/s1tool method. Was able to update via SEUS to .69 fw. I haven't tried PC companion yet nor will I try FOTA because we've been warned numerous times about it.

Hi,
I'm dutch and my english is not good, but I have a question.
I wan't to update my phone through SEUS, but I get an error (the error is dutch, I translated it to english): certain parts of the phone software could not install or start.
My telephone is rooted and I have a custom kernel. How do I unroot and relock it? I need the original firmware too. Where can I find this?
Thanx
maybe u should try reflash to stock rom and update the phone using SEUS or phone update center via wifi
How did you unlock your bootloader? If you unlock it using official method, then I think you have use flashtool to relock it. The guide is here: forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16659481&postcount=33 .
If you unlock it using testpoint & s1tool, then it can be relock using s1tool command again.
After that, you can flash official firmware using flashtool, and it will be unrooted.

Hi guys,
I'm glad to post in this forum because I'm very interested in modding and custom for smartphones BUT... I want to ask you some questions about my bad adventured encoured yesterday:
1) Fresh Sk17i with .62 stock firmware
2) Unlocked bootloader with test-pointer method (success)
3) Downgraded firmware to .58 stock firmware with S1tool WITHOUT wipe cache and partition (success)
4) Rooted with Doomslord (success), at this point I will able to see "Superuser" icon in menu
5) Installed Xperia CWM Auto-Installer with granted root (success)
6) Executed OTA upgrade to .62 stock with SE autoupdate...
Phone downloaded firmware and, at next reboot, it shows an opened box with 4 squares.
Phone shut down and never boot again. I was in panic!
Now, afraid to recycle the phone, I've executed these steps:
1) Trying to power up phone nothing appears on screen, only a tactile feedback with power button down
2) Green status LED blink for several times, tried to remove and reinsert battery no effects
3) Putting the smartphone in Download mode, Sony Companion Suite will recognize it but as "Generic smartphone" and I cannot do anything (no repair or firmware upload)
4) Re-tried to flash .58 stock firmware with S1tool, upload success but issue persist
5) Downloaded WotanServer and uploaded .62 Italian HOLY GOD IT WORK!
Now, I've two simple questions:
- What's wrong with the steps listed?
- I've losed the bootloader unlock with flashing more times firmwares? (Service mode will always display me Bootloader Unlock Allowed: YES)
Thank you very much guys

Can you tell me how to restore bootloader unlocked with "Test point" method? I've now flash'ed .62 stock rom with Wotan and tried to load Xperia_Relock_bootloader ftf file with Flashtool but s1tool will always recognize a "r" bootloader.
SOLVED: Did the job hitting "RESTORE" in s1tool after wiping phone hitting "Restore" in Companion and flashing useless ftf bootloader relocker... '-.-
Bootloader stays unlocked until you relock.

Restore in S1Tool, not PC companion. To go back to stock ROM, use SEUS, Flashtool or Wotanserver.

For test-point method unlock for restore bootloader you only need to hit "RESTORE" in s1tool and all will work.
Everybody known how to check if DRM is correctly in or has been wiped?

DRM will only be removed, if unlocked via official method(on Sony website) . And if it is gone, then it is gone forever and cannot be restored.

Sure, but there aren't any method to discover it?
If I buy a used smartphone and previous owner have executed SE unlock with DRM loss how can I discover it?

On LWW, Music Like button doesn't work in Walkman.
The original TrackID will not work(if downloaded from Market, then it will work).
Can't remember more at the moment.

If you have unlocked via official method and have the TrackID, that was WITH the phone already(and not installed from Market), then it will not work.
I have unlocked bootloader also via official method, the TrackID, that was with the phone, stopped working, but trackID from Market works.

Are you sure that you have installed correct drivers for your smartphone?
Check in Windows Device Manager if you have any type of conflict...
I'm willing to unlock the bootloader of my WT19, so I can flash a custom kernel and install this ROM.
What if I want to update to Sony's official Android 4.0 firmware (when it's released in 2~3 months)? Can I just use PC Companion to restore my phone? Do I need to firstly relock the bootloader to be able to use PC Companion?
Thanks.

havent actually tried it yet, but definitely it is advisable to relock boot loader if you are going to use official update from Sony using their methods.
flashing the official rom using flashtool, if someone uploads it, is possible even without relocking of bootloader.
So,I've rooted and unlock its bootloader for a long time.I also install my phone ClockWorkMod Recovery and etc. other root stuff (My android is 2.3.4 .58 Firmware)
So,today I thought I will finally relock my bootloader as my phone will receive a new ICS official from Sony Ericsson anytime from now until end of June,so I download a relock bootloader ftf file (I've searched it in the internet, and download the right file). After I flashed it (I've enabled USB debugging before shut down my phone and I also sure my phone is in flash mode during flash),my phone WON'T boot up...I don't know what happen,so I'm currently fixing it by using WotanServer, and it downloading in progress now (My x10 Mini Pro bricked 5 times, and I fix it 5 times by myself without whining )
So,I wanna ask you guys :
Why my phone won't boot up?Although the bootloader is locked by Flashtool, but it won't boot up I've stock FIRMWARE and stock KERNEL in my phone...never modified it,only root, unlock its bootloader and flash CWM in it...
Thanks for reading I hope you can answer my question
Regards,
UchihaDareNial
Uhm, since WotanServer installs also stock kernel back...doesn't it require unlocked bootloader?
I am not sure, but that would make sense with all other kernel installations also.
Unlock bootloader, install firmware and kernel with WotanServer again, boot and relock bootloader.

Thanks for the information man,by the way,I just restore my phone using WotanServer and WotanServer will always be my trust to restore my phone if it got a brick or something like that
I restore my phone with Firmware .58 and I rooted it using ZergRush, and update it using OTA [My phone automatically bootloader locked] (I install US Generic xD even I live in Malaysia,so I got Sk17a instead of Sk17i) and now I got .62 firmware with root access in my phone

Yep,you are right...
Because,WotanServer and PC Companion and SEUS use OTHER method which I (even other ROM developer maybe?) don't know how the file work with the flashing without needed bootloader unlocked right?

PC Companion doesn't work with unlocked bootloader at all.
You might be correct, as I have never tried update/repair via PC Companion.

I know, the point is that it's not necessary for flashing stock kernel bootloader to be unlocked.I think it's pretty obvious, if it didn't update with locked bootloader then sony would have to force users to unlock bootloader or give unlocked phones or never update kernel.
Hi and sorry for my bad English :S
Actually on my Xperia Mini Pro SK17i I mounted the RealICS 4.1 but I would see the official 4.0.4! I have unlocked bootloader but I have a big problem: I can't flash with Flashtool because It always return me an error when It's flashing the system!
Can I flash the official 4.0.4 with PC Companion or Sony Mac Bridge? (I have a Mac!)
What will I do if the flash give me an error? I'm confused...
After that can I lock my bootloader? I unlocked that with the testpoint metod :S
PS: Can i flash this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772120) on my RealICS 4.1 or Can i have the notification on the lockscreen like in Gingerbread?
Thanks thanks thanks at all
What error does Flashtool give?
You need to install the drivers and make sure your phone is in flashmode.
It has always worked and I have everything installed correctly
It give me "Flashing aborted. Error flashing system.sin"
With all the official ROM!!!

How I lock my bootloader with the testpoint metod? Should I search into the forum?
PS: my principal question is: "What will do if I use "repair" of PC Companion or Mac Bridge?

If you unlocked it via test point, you should be able to use PC Companion without relocking it.

means using repair on an unlocked device will brick your phone so if you want to flash official firmware and you have unlocked your boot loader then first lock your boot loader by following this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324703 and then update to latest official firmware
Incorrect to all of this.
If you unlocked via official method,
Installation will not start at all! Update Service/PC Companion can see if you're bootloader is unlocked via official method or not. If it is, you just get error and software won't be edited at all. Relocking bootloader allows the installation to continue, so relock if you want to repair/update with PC.
If you unlocked via test point method,
Installation will work and your device won't get bricked!
Now, solution to your Flashtool - What version are you using of Flashtool? Were you able to install THAT firmware earlier also to your phone?

Just remember this, do not try to update OTA if you have unlocked boot-loader by any method. It will (might) brick your phone. (That's an actual brick. You will need to use un-bricking ftf to repair phone)
Known Issues:
It is currently not possible to unlock the boot loader for CDMA phones.
Some customers with unlocked boot loaders have experienced problems when they are accepting over the air upgrades (FOTA - Firmware upgrade Over The Air). For customers that have unlocked the boot loader, please do not accept any over the air upgrades.

I used all the Flashtool version and I reinstalled all the driver but nothing. It give me the same error..
I flashed all version of Gingerbread (2.3.3 and 2.3.4.) and also 4.0.4...
Any solutions?
No solutions??? Thanks at all for everything! You're the best!

hmmm...using flashtool, try flashing system.sin only....if you keep getting error then flash stock kernel first before flashing your phone again....
