Well this is a huge matter of opinion. If you don't like touch wiz, then you should get either miui and cm7 (I'm on miui). If you want an ics themed rom then the best are jivy's ICScrewD, or tasks ics rom. There are so many different options, just try them out.

CM7 for fast non touchwiz
Or SHOstock for fast touchwiz
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
thats easy.
ALL OF THEM
Yeah its definitely a huge matter of opinion. I'm just trying to get a feel for most current up to date and used ROMs out there for this device. At some point or another I am probably going to try all of these so, thanks for helping me to filter out the best guys.

To go ahead and clear up any confusion by "this device" I mean the SGH-I777 not the SGH-I997 I am posting from.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
I'm on ICScrewD right now and its pretty awesome. Smmoth with good battery life. Of course Miui is always a good choice as far as I'm concerned. Take your pick really. They all have something good to offer.

I think that ICScrewed is the first I'm going to try, it looks very nice.
Turkbey ROM all the way. It's fast, stable, amd full of eye candy. Tons of add-ons available as well. It's at least worth looking at.

Miui with siyah. Unbeatable combo.

Looks like Turbkey ROM is only for I9100 (International SGS2), not for the AT&T version (I777), right?

As long as its not CM7 or another AOSP ROM you can hellraise it. Lots of users are using i9100 ROMs on their i777. Scope the Hellraiser mod in development section..
I'm using Illusion-xT ..though its been officially ported now, but yeah. Hellraiser mod is incredible- double check your prerequisites but its super easy.. flash ROM, flash Hellraiser, reboot, i9100 ROM profit.
sent via Galaxy SII
So basically you can flash just about any international SGS2 rom on the AT&T SGS2 using the hellraiser mod? That's incredible, if that's what you're saying.
Edit: we both describe it as incredible. It is, DOUBLE INCREDIBLE!
Any possibility someone could shoot me a link to this particular mod. The only hellraiser mod I found is only for AOSP (MIUI/CM7).

CheckROM, FoxHound for stability and CM9 for wow factor.

Hi all
I am new to the samsung t959
Any recommendation for ROM? I would like to be as fast as possible, and with a working GPS
Thanks a million!
Well its all preference really
I didn't try this one but I will soon this one looks really fast from the video and GPS should work it is a froyo based rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973208
Or you can use other roms and try different kernels also to over clock but do you research first to be sure which kernel suits you best if you were to change it.
Here is the development threads with all the roms look through them and see which one fits your needs http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=711
Good luck! and remeber always backup everything before flashing and make sure your phone is not hardware locked.

When you say new to the vibrant, what do you mean?
Is your phone a t959, t959v, t959d, etc?
Is your phone the sgs 4g or the regular vibrant? These are important things to know before we guide you.

the following two roms are stable fast and very nice battery life...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1008873
(android 2.2.1)
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1079517
(android 2.2)
Im currently using cyanogen 7.0.1 but I've had issues with this, such as it randomly forgetting my ringtones and so nothing plays when people ring or text, alarms not going off, random reboots and loads of other problems,
So I'm looking to move to another rom, I'm looking for one with good battery life and doesnt have a habit of ****ing up on me, can anyone suggest a rom, wanna get it done tonight
batista 2.1 with siyah 1.8 kernel
works perfectly for me and good battery too
Stock. Best eva

only tried stock.still getting used to Android then I will try some other ROM
I like stock with root.
People are saying good things about the latest XXKI4.
KI3 with jkay installed is good for me right now.
Having said that I'm using different launcher,contact/dialer,messaging.
Battery and performance has been great.

I have been through flash after flash with custom rom at the end i go back to stock. Has been stable ever since. I like the KI3 and currentlt just flashed XXKI4. Just to see what the difference is between them.
I woul recommend back to stock. Just my 2c
Good luck

Have not used all the ROM's that are made, but right now I'm in love with Androidmeda. It removes all the crapware, and the phone feels so quick and responsive.
Converted 3 other friends who own SGS2 onto it, and they all love it.
Criskelorom v26. Freaking awesome

I love Cognition. But I have not tried anything else.
I have tried several roms but I got the best performance/consumption with "MikiMod CarbonOcean v 5.1[KI4]".
Give it a try and you tell us.

+1.
I hate Custom ROM's frankly. Some even remove features than adding. Don't forget it's a Smartphone.
Most of the touchwiz roms are good, most are similar.
CM7 latest nightly is very good.

VillianROM is excellent. Basically stock but much more customizable.
stock now for e dont know much about android very new to it
Leo & Check's CheckROM RevolutionHD V1.0 is what I recommended. fast, long and cold.
personally, i keep going back to criskelos roms
MIUI, it's so pretty on that super amoled plus.
Using lighting rom right now. Like it more than cyanogenmod though

Cognition or CheckROM. Both are very stable. Cognition ran flawlessly on my phone.

I agree, completely with him. But, oh well.
For HoneyComb, I've always preferred Galaxy Task 14. Its fast, stable, smooth, and it feels great. But if you're looking for a non-touchwized HC version I suggest Clean Rom. You'll need honeycomb for now if you want camera support, no ICS/JB ROMs support camera until Sammy' decides to cough up the source/drivers.
For ICS it really depends. CM9 nightly builds are great, but I've always gone back to AOKP nightlies/milestones after a CM9 flash. I feel AOKP has a quicker, snappier feel to it. Plus, AOKP is highly customizable. I suggest Milestone 6.
For JB theres just one port, but this really isn't for the faint of heart since wifi, sound, and the camera do not work at all. This is highly experimental and you really should go here if you're looking for a daily driver, but it is really smooth.
Overall, I suggest AOKP M6 its really smooth, and its ICS. The only down side is the camera issue.
With the ease of flashing these ROM's it would be beneficial to test each one and see what you think offers you the best stability, response, and works with whichever apps you use.
I have been playing with Scott's CleanROM 2.0 and Task650's Task14 slim. I am currently on Task's ROM and using Pershoots kernel. I honestly like both ROM's thus far.... going to test out Bindroid next.
Those roms task14 and clean are for wifi only he has p7500 use bindroid for honey comb or cyanogennod9 for ics.. I'd recommend cm9 look for it in cm9 Site as p4 with no variants but p4

Wait for stable Jelly Bean Rom
I have tested JB ROM. Still its to early to comment but its buttery smooth and lightning fast. After a stable rom comes. It would be way better then ICS or honeycomb.
Test and explore different Roms and decide for yourself. I settled on Task's Slim 14.

I don't see why that has to be the case, provided people can stay mature and polite to one another.
If the thread descends into flaming then of course it'll be locked but in the mean time, I see no reason not to give it a fair chance.

Well I am a bit confused on which Rom to install as there are a few that look great. I want to see what people have to say on the following roms like a poll:
cm9 nightly Rom
Team Sonic's FreeGS3 Rom
Blazer Rom
Diet ICS
which are you running ? what features you like about these roms? what issues you have with these roms?
thanks

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say you have a Sprint Galaxy S3, seeing how all those roms are for Srpint. Anyways, I run Blazer Rom and love it. I have no issues with anything and I get great battery life, while it's still smooth and fast.

I've been running Diet ICS, which also has great battery life. I haven't had any issues with the ROM, and they seem to be very responsive to what the community would like to see in the ROM itself.
ROM is always going to be user-preference... I go back and forth from CM10 with inverted apps, and AOKP with inverted apps....
I came from an Atrix 2 with about 2 months of iOS usage in between. I'm currently stock 4.0.3 rooted with Cherrypicker V 3.1. I was wondering what some people considers to be the better ROM or combination of different mods. I helped a lot and became a senior member from the Atrix 2 thread but I've been gone for a while. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have tried half a dozen or so different roms, and the one that I keep coming back to is Shostock2. His latest release (4.0) is very stable, but it still needs some features added in that were in some of his previous releases. If you are looking for a balance of features, get Shostock2 (3.1.2).

Personally I liked Task's AOKP for some time, but recently flashed CM9 - and probably will stick with it until more stable Jelly Beaner...for stock - ShoStock is my choice

You came at a pretty good time. Most ROMs are really stable and Jellybean is just about to hit. What I like to do is play around with different ROMs and see which one I like best. It's what makes Android fun! For a ROM recommendation, I'd have to say SHOstock (if you want that stock TW feel) or task's AOKP (stock Android, plenty of customization)
I know everyone's already said those two but they really are good ROMs. Of course there are other good ones too, so go explore

As myself and Red5 maintain, the best ROM is the one that works for you. It may take a few hours, but give a few a try, and see which YOU like the best.
As the general rule in this board, "vs" threads are no-go, so I am going to close this here (our board was a mess before this rule, with masses of "vs" threads popping up everywhere)...
