Does anyone else use the Motorola News Widget? Mine quit updating on the 29th of January and I cant make it work anymore. I think it is probably a Sprint problem, so I wanted to see if others are having similar issues. I haven't changed anything with regard to apps, or ROMs, or anything.
So today, out of the blue, the news widget started working again. Must have been a Sprint RSS feed service problem... Who knows...

I am currently having issues adding accounts to the Feeds and Updates widgets (IE: Facebook & Twitter). Keep getting msg telling me that my Password or Account info is incorrect, but I can use other Market apps without issue... Is anyone else having any similar issue
Its not just you buddy. Samsung is aware of the issue, and is working hard to put out an update. Its just a waiting game now
I have the same issues, and so do many others. Just hang tight. Stuff like this is expexted with a new phone.
Cool - No worries then... I was worried a little, the first day after I bought this puppy I kept getting No connection errors...but that was resolved on that same day; wanted to verify that I didn't have a faulty unit..
I've been using the Facebook App from Microsoft Marketplace for a long while now, we're talking a good 8 months or so.
A couple of weeks ago it just stopped working. It will open but it won't refresh any statuses or anything.
I have flashed my phone with the newest NRG Rom but it still doesn't update. To update it, I literally need to log out and then back in to Facebook.
Any advise, ideas or suggestions.....
Exactly the same problem here! Anybody a clue?
This problem / situation is bean mentioned several times now.
This problem is caused on some updates that Facebook have been done, and it caused problems on our device.
Solution: ???? waiting to it will be fixed we have seen simulative problem in the past with tweeter
Suggestion; us the the internet page. www. Facebook.com
Thread moved to Q&A.
I know that there was a problem with Twitter, but that's all sorted now.
Fingers crossed Facebook will pull their fingers out and get it sorted.
The strange thing is that if you log out and then log back in, it works again. But every time you load the application again, you have to log out and back in. Annoying but the closest thing to a solution.
Also what's the probability that it will get fixed with WP7S out so soon?
Its not looking too good.......
this problem is weeks old and hasnt even been mentioned in an official capacity afaik.....
Probably an MS conspiracy to have all the facebook junkies rushing to the store for a brand new wp7 handset.............

Oh that would be hilarious, for Facebook to update their site so WP7 is no longer compatible
New Facebook App available, but after update program doesn't start
It seems that the problem was fixed and a new version is available through Microsoft Marketplace. I've successfully installed it, but then it doesn't start. Error message just says "Facebook could not be started".
It installs not into \Windows, so there are still files from the old version (from the ROM) available. I suspect there is a conflict with these older files.
Any way to get this fixed?
Thanks
Holger
Hey guys im not sure if this is a common issue or not. I would use search but everytime I click on search my internet just sits there and loads for ever and nothing happens.
But here goes.
I have an Xperia Mini using CM10 mod on it. Everytime I pull up the weather on my phone it proceeds to tell me I am in Benton... I am not, I am in Wallsend.
However, I have a feeling it isn't the custom rom that is the issue as it always seemed to do this even on the stock rom from Sony.
I have tried clearing out my Network location data and that seemed to temporarily fix the issue but when I woke up this morning it was back to telling me I am in Benton. Until I went into the maps and told it to find my location! Why can't it automatically do this when I search for the weather?
P.S I am using the weather search feature for Google Now, not a dedicated weather app.
I hope someone can help me as I have searched everywhere and not had a viable answer. If I can't find the answer then its not too much of a problem as I am upgrading to a Galaxy Nexus this September.
I hope someone can suggest some ideas. I've been trying for months to get the alarm notifications to work on my Verizon S3. I've spent hours and hours for month after month looking at the forums, and have not been able to fix it- I really, really would like to get this to work!
The problem is, I never get alarm reminders for either:
- time to leave/traffic alerts when I have upcoming appointments
- reminders based on location
I've tried everything I know of in the book- I need an expert to please help me get this working!!! Either I'm doing something really stupid and missing something, I have some setting(s) wrong, or Google Now is somehow broken for me. Sorry for the frustration...
I'm running a Verizon S3, with 4.2.1 and recently I rooted the phone (the notifications have not worked since before nor after the rooting- I did it for other reasons).
PLEASE HELP!!!
Please- any suggestions? I'm willing to start at the basics (in case I missed something) all the way to the complex. I really could use some advise on getting the alarms to work on Google Now notifications...
I've had the same thing happening for about 2 months now (from August 2013), and even with factory wipes and firmware flashes it hasn't come back to me. :/ It's worked once or twice but I haven't figured out if I had done anything before hand to get it back. Then afterwards it stopped working again.
Same for me yet. I've hard reset both my S3 and my Nexus 7, and not luck. Rarely do I get any notices, and if I happen to, it's not at the right time. Must be on Google's end on my account or something. Very, very disappointing, with little hope if it's not specific to the device...
Me too! Try this....

Also happening to me on my Note 3 t-mobile. I have flashed many roms. I even reverted back to stock, and did an OTA update to 4.4.2 and so forth.
The only thing that made a difference was if I sign in to Google Now using my backup Google account, then IT WORKS! So I think that Google is having problems on the back end. There is absolutely no difference between my Google accounts. Why would one work and one not work? I've been posting it all over the web and Google tech support. You should too!
Solution Found
I found a solution to the problem. After being a die-hard advocate for Android, I gave up about 6 months ago and bought an iPhone. It works wonderfully, and does everything it's supposed to, when and where it is supposed to. Reception and voice recognition are better than my S3 was too. I've given up a few things (customization, screen size, etc.), but I finally have a phone that just works. I can add apps, delete them, change settings, etc., and things don't get screwed up; and I don't have to hard reset and start over with my phone again. Plus, most of the Google apps are available on the iphone, including Google Now.
I may look at Android again when version 5.0 comes out; but even with that, if it's my account that's messed up, I doubt I will ever get it fixed...
I really liked Android, but I finally got soooo tired of having to spend so much time getting it to work...
Google now reminders not working possible solution
Okay so I purchased a phone LG G Flex unlocked from T-mobile and using on Metro PCS two weeks ago, prior to this phone I had a Note 3 and used Google Now to set remianders with no problems. When I activated my FLEX and started using google now it did not remind me, i could see the reminders on google cards but no notification and or finger with string in the notification bar to actually remind me. I was really bummed and fustrated as I depend on the reminder function alot. Not having any luck getting Google Now remainders to work I started searching for other apps simular to it, just something to remind me. But funny enough all the others application I found on the app store would do the same thing NO reminders, so I started thinking it may not actually be Google Now but something on my phone. I finally found an application called Robin that did work but gave me my reminders about 2 or three mins before or after the set time, nevertheless it was working but early or late notifications still bothered me. So i decided to turn off the automatic time zone/Network provider time and Automatic date and time/Network provided time and that did the trick for me. I started up Google Now and set like a hundred reminders to test it and they all came in on time. I dont know if the phone being unlocked and used on another network made the network time buggy but as long as I keep the automatic date and time off it works well. I dont know if this is the solution for everyone but it was for me. hope this help.
Fantastic and detailed reply- thanks!
I also switched phones, now I'm on a LG G3 (love the phone)! I seem to be getting almost all of my notifications now, but I'll try to pay a little more attention to it, and keep your suggestion in mind if I'm having any troubles. Thanks again for the information!

Can Google now show reminders while offline? I know I cant set or delete a reminder offline. But can it remind for an already set reminder offline?
For almost 3 years now, around the time I purchased my Nexus 6 in December of 2014, I've had delayed notifications. I always thought it was a Nexus 6 issue but it seems I was wrong.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Having recently purchased a Note 8, one thing I was really looking forward to was no longer having these delayed notifications. From the moment I set everything up, the issue was and is still present - even on a brand new, unmodified Note 8 purchased directly from my carrier (Telstra, Australia).
This has lead to me to look further into the issue and to finally get to the bottom of what might be causing it and hopefully, get it fixed.
From what I can tell, pretty much anything that uses Google's Cloud Messaging, which I beleive is everything from Gmail to Facebook, Google+ and many others, the notifications will be delayed. Sometimes only a few minutes, sometimes much longer.
Anything that doesn't rely on GCM works perfectly fine. For example, if I use Nine (an Exchange client app) and connect to an Exchange server, those notifications are always perfect. I'll get notified within seconds of receiving the email.
My partner, who has the exact same phone (Note 8) as well as Gmail and Facebook setup, receives notifications instantly (within seconds) and has never had the issue on previous Android devices either. So it's not a carrier issue, nor a WIFI issue, nor a phone issue. It is something directly related to my Google account.
Has anyone ever come across this issue that has been able to successfully resolve it? I've seen a couple of apps on the Play Store that apparently let you fix the issue but you need to be rooted in order for the apps to run. This is simply not an an option.
Given all testing points to something Google Account related, where would be the best place to start looking for a fix?
NOTE:
- I don't use any battery optimisation or task killer apps nor anything related. Never have.
I've come across the following information. It appears as though it may be something to do with this: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/nexus/fslYqYrULto/lU2D3Qe1mugJ
Although this looks promising, it doesn't really explain why it would affect some and not others. My partner who is using the same phone with the same carrier, connected to the same WIFI networks doesn't have the issue.

I've never had this issue before, but I've had friends that ran into issues similar to the one you've explained. I'll be sure to ask them what they did to resolve them, and get back to you when I know!

Thank you!
I haven't made much progress here however, I can confirm my carrier is actually taking the time to do some thorough research themselves and ensure there is actually nothing wrong in the background.
