First attempt at getting some different battery icons working on Eugene's Froyo ROM.
3 versions are available.
battery 1-has digital numbers displayed within battery
battery 2-plain numbers in battery
battery 3-just battery icons no digits
will upload pics shortly
flashable update.zip. either flash through CWM or stock recovery(if renamed to update.zip)
alternatively, you can unzip and adb push framework-res.apk to /system/framework/
credits: Eugene373 for an amazing ROM
and everyone else and to the guy in the i9000 forums that i found the battery icons from. will update properly when i find the link again
EDIT: extremely tired. tired of dealing with pngs and xml files. will upload the rest at some point tomorrow. least there is one for now as apposed to none XD

I was digging for new themes for our JVP/JVQ GB Roms and found this.... I'm going to be trying these ASAP
Note that these themes are NOT GUARANTEED to Work on all roms,,, Flash at your own risk. Naturally make backups

Good find, thanks.
I believe the themes have to have the same number of lockscreens to work on our vibrants.

I have heard this also... I just flashed the deep purple theme and all worked well except the phone app was gone for some reason.... it only had 5 lock screens though... mine had 9 originally
It will work fine unless you chose a lockscreen that you don't have coding for, then you've just bought a ticket to bootloop city

can you elaborate on that? I flashed the LEGEND X theme and I got in a boot loop. i had the puzzle lockscreen on before the flash
I have no idea how to check for this before hand but say if you were on the puzzle lockscreen and then you flash a theme that edits some .xmls then you might have a situation where the lockscreen is looking for an .xml that doesn't work it anymore (or maybe is completely missing) and BAM your phones figurative brain explodes and sends you into bootloops. That's my understanding anyways so anybody feel free to correct me.

I think everyone that tries one needs to report back if everything worked or not and we need to start a list of which ones actually work for us.
I would use the standard android lockscreen since its in pretty much all themes and roms. To avoid possible bootloops or worse.

Does anyone know where the png files are for the notification bar?
In gb It used to be in systemUI.apk but i cant seem to see any images that i changed last time in ics.
This is what i did in gb (ported rajaspideys ios notification) to gnote and would like to do the same in ics. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Sorry i wasnt very specific. Attached is a screen shot of what i did in gb. I did this by using the universal theme flasher and swapping the pictures in the systemui in drawable xhdpi. I would like to do this in ics but the same images dont seem to be there in ics systemui.
Thanks

ICS has changed how it is handled. Now it is a color code and not an image. You can make it an image by redirecting the XML files to point to an image instead as I have done.

Did you use apktool to decompile?
Any guides on doing this?

yes but you will need 2 version of apktool to do it. One to decompile and another to compile ICS. Then in the layout folder of the system ui you will need to change the xmls for the status bar to android:drawable/status_bar which is in the framework-res apk. You will also need to change the XML in the system UI folder. There is no guide. I found it by trial and error to be honest. A lot of ICS uses color hex codes instead of images now but thankfully they left the unused images in the framework-res folder

Is it the xml files inside the res/layout that need to be edited?
Struggling to see what i need to change to reference a png imagine to be used.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
here is a list of the files that will need to be edited off the top of my head.
SystemUI
Drawable folder
status_bar_bg.xml
Layout
status_bar.xml

Any idea which image i can swap to.change the background? Ive managed to get everything else transparent by replacing the images in drawable folders. Just missing the background now.

Check the layout folder in system UI for the status bar expanded. It will tell you what the background it. It might be a color hex code

Ok thanks ill look. I dont think itll be a hex code because its not just one colour. It has a pattern on it. Unless hex codes can do that If so please disregard my stupidness lol
Thanks.

They can do graidents now in ICS. If you have trouble upload your decompiled systemui apk and I'll have a look. ICS changed a whole lot

Ill upload systemui when im at a pc
What ive done so far is.
add android:background @drawable/pulldown to statusbartracking.xml
created pulldown.xml in drawable and added image pulldown to drawable-hdpi
I used the correct syntax in the actual files but still nothing.
Does that sound like something you did?

I wanted to have transparent status bar for months and after struggling, i present you my mod'ed framework that will give you the transparent status bar you always wanted (LOL sounds like a promising advertisment!)
This framework is from Rempuzzle rom, i havent tested this on any other sense rom but Rempuzzle. Also i made this on the new framework of rempuzzle with the new graphics so use it on it.
1 - Backup your previous framework just in case or backup whole rom if you are bored to reflash framework-res.apk
2 - Just flash my zip file through clockwork and you'll be all set. If you find any problem when flashing just extract framework-res and push it to /system/framework
3 - After flashing check the permissions on framework-res.apk and see if they are rw-r-r
4 - Leave a thanks or tell me if it didnt work for anyone!
For months you say!! Well you didn't search much then did you? There's a few already been posted and I know this because one of them is mine lol, which also has modded notifications and statusbar icons.
Good though

You can't, the white, grey or black you see behind the statusbar is determined by the background in the app so you'd have to edit every app causing the problem which is more trouble than its worth.

I believe its better not to have transparent statusbar because things overlap and background changes, but anyway !
Hi there! I wanna ask about my green signal and green text carrier provider.
signal green not because my png green, my png has white color.
i've tried to change png color but it still green..
please anyone help me to change it..
here is my pic ,framework-res and SystemUI on attach
Bump..
please i need help :crying:
If you are trying to change system files I'm assuming you are rooted...
I've heard that Android UOT kitchen can do this though I've never used it myself but there is a forum for modding roms on this site. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=613
I myself have used an app called ROM Toolbox pro( I forget the price ). It allows you to change many things like signal color and style, battery style, etc. It's selection of mods differs from rom to rom, as does it's effectiveness but for me it works most of the time(on an Inspire with many different roms and a Flipside with cm7). It also comes with many other great tools. If your quick enough you can try to apply a mod, restart your device, and if it doesn't work get a refund.(I think its a fifteen min window) Of coarse make a nandroid
