[Q] Will flashing the stock .sbf file remove my unlocked boot loader?
Yes, flashing a stock .sbf via RSD Lite will restore your recovery back to stock, and relock your bootloader.

yup will need to unlock and root again
will flashing an unlocked backup on a locked rom unlock your device and install etc.?
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
Im not entirely sure what you mean, im assuming you meant making a backup in CWM of your ROM when your unlocked, SBF back to stock then use bootstap to flash that backup to your phone while locked and stocked recovery? IF thats the case I know that it won't unlock your bootloader or change your recovery to CWM. You'll still be locked BL and stock recovery. Thats AFAIK, I haven't done it personally so don't quote me but thats how you used to be able to retain 4g with custom ROMS. It *should* install ok and work, but as stated before I personally haven't done this.

everyone talks about bootstrap recovery, where do i find it! i asked before nd someone sent me to cwm! so i assumed cwm was bootstrap somehow haha
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
yep it will lose your unlock but i do a rsd this file i have (derpunlock.sbf) and it unlocks it in 2 seconds
Here is a download link direct, and Here is a site that has some info on step-by-step instructions of what to do.
Edit: I'm pretty sure that you will have to be connected to an AC power source each and every time you want to boot into bootstrap, so don't just overlook that part

What it means is renaming the zip file to PG05IMG and flashing via hboot.
So first you rename PG05IMG_MR1_no_hboot.zip to PG05IMG.zip and flash in hboot. Then, once that is flashed and you get no errors, remove the PG05IMG.zip file from your sdcard, rename the bootloader file, PG05IMG_hboot_1.4.0000.zip to PG05IMG.zip and flash the same way you did the MR1 RUU in hboot.
Before you attempt it I'd highly advise you to read the faqs that are pinned to get familiar with all the steps, terminology and methods before you actually go a head and return to stock.
Ok, where I'm gettin stck is Wat do u mean flash in hboot? Do I have to use adb? In on ill check it out thanx.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Na, you boot your phone into hboot by powering off your phone then turning it back on by holding down the volume down button until your phone boots into hboot. No need for adb (unless you really want to use adb) Hboot has options like Recovery, Fastboot etc... Remember though, if you have a file on your sdcard that is named PG05IMG.zip than it will continually ask you to install the file or reboot your phone.
Oh ok so then when I boot in there I install the file? Ok I get it lol thank u!

I've haven't heard of any 100% method to root GB right now, though some have reported that the Revolutionary method works, Can't say for sure it'd probably be best to root while running Froyo. Just remember to be careful because you can mess your phone up if something is done wrong.
Ok thanx for the help. One last q lol I'm rooted on2.2 now can I flash a gb Rom over Wat I'm on now or no?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Yes as long as you have a recovery installed and since you're rooted I'm sure you do.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Also, depending on what version of 2.2 you're running you may need to flash a compatible radio to have data working on the GB build.

Using Rom Manager I tried flashing clockworkmod recovery onto my Atrix. I am rooted, but my bootloader is not unlocked. From what I have read, the bootloader needs to be unlocked before flashing clockworkmod recovery will work properly.
How can I undo my attempt to flash clockworkmod recovery and go back to the stock recovery?

you should be fine if the bootloader is locked you can't flash recovery without it being signed.
I get Failed to boot 2 when I try to boot into recovery.
That happened to me. Just run the unlock command from adb and it will boot normally. Then you can flash clockwork recovery. That or load a stock sbf, which is what I did the first time I got that error.

Download moto-fastboot-win32.zip (assuming you're on Windows) from this thread (at bottom of first post): moto-fastboot-win32.zip
1. Extract it.
2. Open command prompt and set the directory to where the files are extracted to. (cd /d "directory within quotes")
3. Power down your phone then hold the volume down button and power on the phone till fastboot appears at the top of the screen, then press volume up, make sure it says something like "Starting Fastboot Protocol".
4. Plug in phone to computer
5. Then type moto-fastboot erase recovery.
6. Now your recovery is erased from the phone.

I don't read well, apparently, and flashed the Electrify 2.3.5 file in hopes of unlocking my bootloader.
Has anyone else (I have read that a handfull of people have been stupid like me) had any luck unbricking the device?
I have access to RSD protocol and Fastboot.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: The only thing my phone says now is:
SUF: 108:1:2
Failed to boot 3

EDIT #2: Downloaded someones CWM flashable kernel and flashed to boot.img via moto-fastboot. Not I have an "Failed to boot 2", which people have recovered from. I am currently flashing (198_7)-1FF-sunfire-user-2.3.4-4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_7-CM-release-keys-signed-Sprint-US.sbf and it's 55% completed, which is higher than it got before........
EDIT #3: It failed.... waiting for re-enumeration...

I haven't personally tried it, but as far as I know you can't. You are stuck on 2.3.5 until someone releases a new bootloader unlocker.

Point being is that I think it relocks your phone and does not allow for a downgrade.

If you would not mind can you please outline what you did?
This is what I did:
1. Installed regular pudding
2. Installed cwm recovery
3. Installed 2.3.5 for Electrify/Photon via cwm
Then did:
1. Installed stock recovery
2. Installed nopudding4g
After that I started getting the Failed to Boot 1
No matter which locked 2.3.4 I try to flash via RSD it fails on first flash pass when it tries to put the phone into BP bypass.
First to get my phone back to normal in rsd mode I flashed the sunfire sbf then to unlock my phone I used pudding unlock sbf then to get recovery I had to do the one click root then got the bootstrap app to flash cwm zip then I installed jokers stock rom

Just rename the downloaded zip file to PH98IMG.zip make sure it's not a zip within a zip. Place that on your sd card root not in any folders and boot into bootloader it will begin installing. It will reboot a few times just don't touch it until it's completely done and booted into ics

That just means it won't work if your unlocked. So you just relock it. Then you'll basically be stock unrooted again but on ics once it's done, then you just unlock again, flash a custom recovery, then flash supersu to get your root back

After flashing sbf, in order to flash a custom recovery, you first need to flash a pudding sbf file to unlock the bootloader. After unlocking the bootloader, running the command "fastboot oem unlock" and then repeating the command with your device's ID, you can flash CWM to your recovery.

Ok. After you flash that, you have to flash another sbf file over that one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261 will get you to the instructions on what to do. Since Orange is what is considered international, you need the IHOP sbf on the page.

After seeking advice from a dev, this is the response i was given:
Could also be the recovery is in fact in that directory but is not named recovery.img. Or, if fastboot actually managed to load the file but still reports that error, it could be that his bootloader is either not unlocked or is having issues (the fastboot protocol is implemented in the bootloader AFAIK).

I'm going to recommend you ask one of the devs about how to fix it. You can flash another sbf file, but make sure it is the same version as what you have. So if you flashed a 2.3.6 sbf, you need to flash a sbf that is 2.3.6 or risk bricking your phone.
