I feel annoyed whenever I want to have pattern lock on, because that means I have to press the top button to turn on the phone, then unlock the phone iwth the HTC ring, then use my pattern?
I was with a buddy today and he has the SGII on Rogers, and he doesn't have a lock screen if he decides to use pattern.
Anyway around this?
If you use a nonsense rom I think the ring lock is gone there may also be tweaks for this. I must admit I lol'd to the 'is this real life??' I haven't looked into it much besides that. On the bright side, with it set up this way you can still control music from the 'lock screen' unlike if there was just the pattern. From what I know.

There is an app I use called NoLock that disables this. I think you have to run it every time you reboot, though.
Edit: Not sure if it will disable the pattern lock as well or not, I prefer no lock screen at all.

You cant use any other lock with that app. :<

The app Screen Off and Lock offers the option to turn your screen off with just one touch or - if you have a custom launcher - with a specific gestures.
One cool feature is the "TV-Off-Animation" which you can see in this video:
I thought this was cool, so I downloaded the app and made all the settings.
The issue with the S3 is, that when you turn off the screen with a gesture or a widget, the screen turns off for half a second and than the lockscreen pops up...

I don't have a permanent solution, but i find turning off S-voice for wake up device helps, the double switch off as i like to call it still happens but not as much.
Another success i had was switching everything off the home screen so its blank, This fixed the issue until i pressed the power button once to switch off the screen then the issue came back.
I used a similar app called lock screen but the issue remains, actually the screen off and lock app seems to be better because of the delay it has with different animations.
It seems to be an issue with ICS 4.0.4.... So we have to wait

Since ics, multiple one touch lock screen widgets dont work properly. The led will flash and the it goes to the lock screen and times out with some, and with others it stays on a very low ambient type mode. Any one else? Any suggestions, i love one touch to lock the screen, damn first world problems

I just turned off the lock screen, hardly needed since there are only soft buttons on the front of the device, and it's unlikely the power button would be accidentally pressed in one's pocket. Then i used a cool app called screen off and lock, it even has crt effect.
Those of us who didn't use a lock screen on the GS3 know that the Jelly Bean update screwed up our ability to wake the phone with the home button. I instead of just waking the screen it would trigger a home button action, i.e. exiting whatever screen you were on and returning to the home screen. The workaround was to enable the Home Screen double press to trigger S Voice. This worked but created a lag every time you press the home button as it waits for a second press.
I was very happy to learn that the GS4 didn't seem to suffer the same problem. After using it for a week, I've found it doesn't always work the way it should. I'd say about 50% of the time the screen wakes as it should, and 50% of the time it returns to the launcher screen.
Is anyone else noticing this, or is it possible that some mod I've applied screwed something up?
I don't have a lock screen either and waking with the home button works fine and doesn't trigger the home button action. Are you using a mod to disable the lock screen, or disabled it in the touchwiz settings? If it's a mod, try the latter.
It screwed all of us, even with lock screens.
It works 100% of the time now. For me. But I do also have a lock screen.

Why when I run the software shake the watch does not wake up on lock screen only when I press the power button I get the lock screen?

try adjusting the sensitivity. Im using between 14 and 16 with varied results.

Thanks for your help, But the app work to me it is wake up not on lock screen (and it is sometimes press on camera or on something else) only when I press the power button I get the lock screen!!!

Use Awesome ON/OFF for screen on
This app works for me. I was able to set it so when I tilt my watch up, I see the watch face. I use Nova Launcher instead of Smart Launcher, just a personal choice both work well.
In shake set action when shaken to simple and select action turn screen on.
I have sensor sensitivity set to 12. Adjust as needed for your circumstances.
Service state is on.
Start at phone startup checked.
Active when screen is off checked.
Unchecked battery savings, vibrate, notify.
In device settings under security set screen lock to none.
