What is the best way to create a full backup of the galaxy player 5.0 data? Ideally I'd like to have a full backup of everything that I could restore to if I mess something up. I looked into creating one with ROM Manager but the galaxy player doesn't seem to be supported yet.
Flash entropy512's kernel for the galaxy player 5.0 and use clockworkmod to do a nandroid backup.

I'm not rooted. I use "Syncback" on my PC. With USB connected, each SD mounts as a drive. I have a profile for each drive and back up one to an "SGP5-Internal" and the other to an "SGP5-external". I connect about every other week to update the backup.

I have a gtab that I've set-up just the way I want it.
Is it possible to clone it to another gtab?
Thanks.
Yes. I've an idea.
use CWM... make sure the same one is on each with the same bootloader version.
I haven't done a clone, but this might work. Make a backup in CWM on the tab you want to clone, then boot up your Gtab. Launch a file manager and go to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup. Copy the folder for the backup you just made (filed by date) over to the new Gtab in the same folder tree. Go into CWM and do a restore.
Would we be able to transfer this backup from cwm to PC then be able to use it for a restore after trying different Roms ?
If you have apps you want restored, try using titanium backup, its in the market

Click to collapse
Yes, but not necessary. Changing rom won't affect your sdcard partition.
I downloaded and installed some S3 apps and all apps aren't working now like fm radio, clock, video and music player... Where I could download S2 stock apps or what I shoud do?
Go back to stock.
Flash your stock ROM through Odin.
Do you have a nandroid backup? Or a backup from titanium backup or mybackup? Then you could install your apps from there.
Otherwise you might be lucky and your missing apps are stored in the /preload dir and you could copy them over.
If that doesn't help than you have to flash your stock rom.
I don't have any backup but I will flash stock rom, thank you guys
Hello, everyone.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and would like to install a custom rom on it, but before I do that, I need some clarification about backup, just in case I feel a need to change back to the default rom.
I downloaded and purchased Titanium Backup and did a ''Backup all user apps + system data'' on it, this is saved on both my SD card and on my PC.
I also downloaded ROM Manager and did a backup via the Recovery mode, this is saved on both my SD card and on my PC as well.
My question is, if I now download and install a custom rom on my phone but end up not liking it, will I be able to use this backup to get my phone to the exact state as it is in now? All my apps, contacts, settings etc?
Thank you.
you can restore everything back to the way it was except the modem. so if u do flash a different fw and want to go back take Note of modem and when u restore old Rom flash back modem via recovery and all should be good

Hi guys, I was wondering is it possible to use Titanium Backup to make a full backup of my S2, and when i say full backup, I mean a Full Image of the Smartphone?
Like we can do with a PC or Mac?
If yes can someone point me to a guide?
If not, is there any app capable of doing it?
Thanks in advance.
No. Titanium cannot do this. A nandroid (CWM) backup is the closest thing to this; backs up everything except your external SD card & modem. It is essentially a 'snapshot' of the phone at the time you took it & if you restore one, it will revert your phone almost exactly to the state it was in when you took the backup (apart from the external SD card & modem if you've changed it as previously mentioned).
No, it is not possible to do a total 'image' of an Android phone as you would a PC, but if you do a Nandroid backup & also Titanium backup your apps regularly (either weekly/every few days or before you make changes to your setup), that will enable you to either recover or revert any changes quickly/easily.
Thanks for your help.
You're welcome
Just one more thing....if your on 4.1.2 make sure you bkup preload or nand wont restore.
Backup of S2.
Hello, i too would like to find a "way" or a "guide" to do a full backup of everything on my phone with a single click. Yes I'm New to it all... and before i rooted with siyah i backed up my phone via (KIES) followed the youtube root video Yep! Rooted my phone happy as larry THEN BANG! Kies wont recognise my device! Backup On My Pc USELESS! and yes i am at my wits end to try recover them text messages but ive started from scratch now on the dark side, now i wouldent mind a FULL BACKUP of everything .. except sd, so i can bring my phone back to samsung land get my contacts etc.. then cross back over to the darkside.
list of installed apps:
titanium , es file explorer , mobile odin , my files (lol) , air droid , spooffw , busybox , triangle away , sms backup & restore , bluetooth file transfer +++ more tried everything lol.
Thanks For Reading!
For 4.1.2 go with philz kernel. Go into recovery and tick preload Bk up and you will have a working nand on stock jelly bean read about it:thumbup: For custom Roms like cm aokp id use dorimanx 9.whatever and use hawkerpauls preload Bk up and restore scripts. Or you could just use hawker scripts for both jb and custom Roms.check to see if what ever your backing uses preload.
I want to transfer apps with external data from my rooted Note 2 to non-rooted Mega 6.3.
Are there any software let me pick and choose what to backup for an adb?
Because I have no way to choose what to restore on a non-rooted device (galaxy mega 6.3 can't be rooted yet).
